Exposing the underbelly of Armstrongism in all of its wacky glory! Nothing you read here is made up. What you read here is the up to date face of Herbert W Armstrong's legacy. It's the gritty and dirty behind the scenes look at Armstrongism as you have never seen it before! With all the new crazy self-appointed Chief Overseers, Apostles, Prophets, Pharisees, legalists, and outright liars leading various Churches of God today, it is important to hold these agents of deception accountable.

There was no option for two.
ReplyDeleteFor me, I had to pick between RCG and PCG. There are good reasons in my opinion for both. If I could have picked two, I would have. But the last two months, PCG got the edge on this. I would suggest you re-run the poll in the fall, after August. :)
BTW, an honorable mention is ol' Thiel. His videos alone earn him the coo-coo-COG award in video presentation! ;)
Wait.
ReplyDeleteWait a minute.
Just.
Wait.
A minute...
Like, there's a COG that ISN'T bat-shit crazy???
Yeah. They really all are. It's the toxic ones like PCG and RCG that worry us all about something really bad happening.

Perhaps the poll should be titled "craziest" as the article suggests- but I think everyone probably gets the idea.
ReplyDeleteAll of them.
ReplyDeleteBut given no other choices, I chose the RCG, not unlike Ming the Merciless at his wedding, where he committed to "as it pleases me at the moment".
Look...
ReplyDeleteI admit to coming to BANNED every day. I even write some idiocy on here as well. I read all the posts and read all the comments, in fact one of the first sites I visit on the web daily.
Confession is good for the soul, as are occasional hard core reality checks.
Truth be told...
This is "BATSH*T" crazy too!

Flurry vs. Pack is like the all time debate of ..
ReplyDeleteDodgers vs the Yankees or
Lakers vs Celtics.
Very good arguments for both, and very debatable down at the Silver Dollar Bar here in town.

Joe, you are absolutely correct when you say that this is also batshit crazy, or at least reflects that craziness. Sometimes, in order to help people, in order to restore common sense and promote healing, we need to expose, then dive into the craziness. Some of the reports we read about absolutely insane teachings and activities do tend to fry a person's mind, and I sometimes wonder about our exposure and the potential for long term damage. I mean, people are teaching that married couples can't have sex any more, and that one of the restored truths is to leave handicapped (at risk) children at the mall!
ReplyDeleteBottom line? WWJD? I believe He would be right at ground zero, promoting better understanding, and diffusing toxic teachings, doing whatever He could to help spiritual abuse victims, just as He did in the days of the Pharisees. In a small way, maybe we can help some people, and share a couple of laughs as we do it.

Joe, why did you leave the "i" out of Batshit? Does that somehow make you "r*ghteous"? :-) When you came on here, things really got BATSH*T crazy!
ReplyDeleteThe New Testament seems to indicate that Pharisees don't have anything to offer.
ReplyDeleteThe Cult of Herbert Armstrong is a camp of Pharisees, including UCG -- United still supports British Israelism, and that is just plain crazy.
Not a single one of the ACoGs has any real sanity and Herbert Armstrong is their dead false prophet: There's no way to fix that or make it sane.
And that is why we see the non fruit we've been seeing, better described as the works of the flesh.
