One should never pay tithes to God’s representatives and then try to supervise or otherwise watch over the way the ministry or Church headquarters spends them. The ministry answers to God because it is God who employs them, not the people who paid the tithes.
I was checking out the Preterism blog today and they had a short entry on Davey Pack.
It says this:
Today, Pack is claiming the beast of Revelation is “just ahead.” Armstrong made the same claim in 1934 suggesting the beast might be Mussolini, Stalin or Roosevelt. In 1956, he predicted the Great Tribulation would arrive by 1975. Of course, all this came to nothing. So, why Pack wants to be associated with such an abysmal failure is baffling. It’s doubtful he spends any time telling his duped followers about Armstrong’s failed predictions. (Revealing the truth would undoubtedly affect his income stream.)
Here is what Davey says about money:
He then blabbers on about banks and loan companies that actually "own" your home. That the government requires taxes. But what then is left after taxes? Who owns that? What You Earn Is Not Your Own
Davey says that God owns all that you ahve.
Notice. God says, “For all the earth is Mine” (Ex. 19:5) and “Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the Lord’s your God, the earth also, with all that therein is” (Deut. 10:14) and also “whatsoever is under the whole heaven is Mine” (Job 41:11). King David wrote, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (Psa. 24:1). I Corinthians 10:26 repeats his words.
God also says, “For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills...If I were hungry, I would not tell you: for the world is Mine, and the fullness thereof” (Psa. 50:10, 12). Finally, the prophet Haggai wrote, “The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says the Lord” (Hag. 2:8).
All money is God’s (remember, the value of money is generally attached in some way to gold and silver). He owns absolutely everything there is to own. Human beings are “squatters” on His land and “renters” in His homes. Everything you think you own is actually owned by God. You are merely its temporary custodian.
That is Davey's slick way of preparing his acolytes that all their money belongs to God and that they need to send it all in.
People manufacture products from natural resources, which come from the earth, but it is God who makes both the natural resources and the earth in which they are found. Men may own mining or timber rights, but it is ultimately God who owns the mine and created the timber, which grew because of elements in the soil—which He created and owns!Any time Davey's god tells him to demand money from his members, they MUST send it ALL in. After all, it is not theirs! It is God's and Davey is God's custodian.
Any time He wishes, God could take back all that is His. After all, it is His! This includes your income. While you may have “earned it,” God owns it.
What things belong to God? Remember, we are to “Render...to God the things that are God’s.” Render means give. Since the heavens and the earth (or the land on which we live) cannot be “rendered” back to God by human beings, what does this mean?
We saw our entire income (salary, wages, interest earned, investments, bonuses, commissions and any other financial increase) actually belongs to God.
Davey then gos on to pretend that his members are required to tithe by his god:
God lays prior claim to the first 10 percent of everything people earn as income. This is called the tithe, meaning “the tenth.” To be a tithepayer means the same as being a “tenthpayer.” Tithe is an old English word commonly used to mean tenth. People have long understood that to tithe is to pay a tenth of one’s income.
There are small and large points within God’s Law. Some commands carry more “weight” than others. When speaking of some lesser points within God’s Law, Christ said, “Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 5:19).
Davey then shoots himself in the foot by talking about a "pagan" so-called Christian who tithed and prospered. Davey's members should be asking themselves: If God blessed that guy who tithes to a non COG, then why can't I give to another COG or non-COG church and be blessed? Why does Davey get it all?
I have known men who sought to make God their partner. In my hometown of Lima, Ohio, a well-known, successful businessman put a sign on his factory saying, “God is my Partner.” He certainly did prosper.Davey then goes on to tell his acolytes that they "have no voice" in how he sues the money they "give" him.
John D. Rockefeller, the famous patriarch of the Rockefeller family, tithed. Other well-known tithepayers have prospered because they followed this principle.
No one can make God his partner. We cannot “let God in” on a “business deal” with us. But God can choose to make individual tithepayers His partners!
Tithing works in this way. Each time you tithe, you have paid the latest in a long string of ongoing regular “bills” sent to you from God. Actually, His bill is always to be the first one paid! God is not willing to stand in line behind other creditors who represent mere human organizations to whom the tithepayer may also have existing or on-going obligations. Remember, God gives 90 percent of your income. What other organization would do this?
Another important principle to note: Tithes paid to God work differently from money put in a bank. If you place your money in a bank, you expect that bank to keep careful track of the funds you have deposited and to give you a periodic accounting. The bank remains responsible to you for keeping proper track of your funds. The reason is simple. Though the bank may be holding your money, it is still your money! The same with stocks or other investments. Brokers account to the investor.
Tithing is different! Since tithes belong to God, once they are paid, God (or His representative) is not obligated to explain exactly how, or in what fashion, they were spent. One should never pay tithes to God’s representatives and then try to supervise or otherwise watch over the way the ministry or Church headquarters spends them. The ministry answers to God because it is God who employs them, not the people who paid the tithes. God owns His “company,” and He has the authority to hire (or fire) His employees—His ministers. Tithepayers have no voice in how they are spent.
Davey says all money belongs to him since he is the ONLY faithful COG leader out there.:
It is only to the faithful ministry of the true Church—the only Church Christ built—that tithes should be paid. Those laboring full-time in the Work of God are hired and paid directly by God! Since tithes cannot be sent to heaven, He designates they go to His earthly representatives.Davey then warns his followers, "I have now done my part. If you do not tithe you will be gut off by God!" As usual it is scare tactic time. Make people fear for their salvation if they do not tithe. Tithing is a salvation issue with Davey,, something that it never was through human history.
I have now done my part. I have taught you the truth about tithing. You have been given essential knowledge that you must act on, in order to be given more. Christ said, “Walk while you have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walks in darkness knows not where he goes. While you have light, believe in the light, that you may be the children of light” (John 12:35-36). Further, notice this warning to all: “Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, IF you continue in His goodness: otherwise you also shall be cut off” (Rom. 11:22).
He then concludes with this asinine comment:
Tithing is a law. Like any other law, there is an automatic cause and effect relationship. Why do you keep the law of gravity? Because if you break it, you know there will be an immediate, visible and sometimes painful effect. Jumping from a 10-story building brings real consequences.
The tithing law is no different. If we break it, it breaks us. But if we keep it, it keeps us. But there is one fundamental difference between tithing, which is a spiritual law, and physical laws. Breaking spiritual laws rarely brings immediate effects on the offender. There is a delayed penalty—but a penalty, nonetheless.
Love that "God, or his assistants...." BS IF God actually needs money could He not sell some of His cattle on a thousand hills or some of His gold and silver?
ReplyDeleteWhoever agress with this kind of reasoning deserves to lose every penny they have to Joshua C Christ.
Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick
ReplyDelete"Take nothing for your journey," he instructed them. "Don't take a walking stick, a traveler's bag, food, money, or even a change of clothes. - Luke 9:2-3
People of God do not go around begging for money claiming it's desperately needed to finish God's work. The PCG gave a sermon a short while back where the whole 2 hours was on how the church needs to keep sending in their money. Makes me sick.
Love the "once you give it you don't tell me how to spend it.." Oh really lol. What an ass. I hope the IRS is reading or maybe the attorney general of Ohio. Dave must have bills mounting up.
ReplyDeleteWhen in your life did you ever hear an apostle or a Joshass say, "Brethren, I am so sorry. God corrected me. I was wrong." lol....never. Slick dodge to do what you want and never have to be accountable to others. DCP needs a course in accountability to others he robs and cons.
ReplyDeleteGreat racket! Invent a sky fairy phantom and work it around to where you get everything as the bona fida representative of that phantom. Been there. Did that. Finally got smart. Whatever little I have is mine, not some stupid sky fairy's, so the pompous ass claiming to represent that fairy can bask in luxury.
ReplyDeleteDavey hasn't been reading his Bible.
ReplyDelete"Render unto Caesar" proves conclusively that God acknowledges that NOT ALL of YOUR money is actually GOD'S money.
God expects you to be a faithful steward of your wealth. YES, this means tithing to the letter, and also giving generous offerings.
But it ALSO means that YOU are RESPONSIBLE as the STEWARD of your increase. Did the men in the parable, receiving a mina or a talent, SEND IT ALL IN? No! They invested and traded and DOUBLED THE MONEY.
This demonstrates that Dave sees RCG members as SLAVES, not STEWARDS. Potential members of RCG, proceed with due caution.
The gall of this bastard. He knows no bounds which makes him dangerous.
ReplyDeleteDavey should make it more convenient by writing his very own version of the Bible (sort of like a new Book of Mormon or the Koran) so that RCG members can throw out their Bibles and worship Davey in their idolatry without some mere "book" saying they shouldn't.
ReplyDeleteBecause as sure as death, taxes, revenge and the fury of woman scorned, what Davey is preaching is totally unbiblical.
In the meantime, Davey needs to give all he has to God and follow Jesus.
I may be wrong, but I believe the people in the ACOGs really all still worship Herb, and just tolerate those whom they consider to be his interim replacements. It's kind of like watching an Elvis impersonator. If the real deal suddenly materialized, where would the crowd go? That, however, has not kept at least one phenomenal ego from developing amongst the impersonators.
ReplyDeleteI believe that there have been thousands of members who watched in horror as a part of their culture, about which they cared greatly, was sold, demolished, and/or absorbed by Sunday keepers over there in Pasadena. It would not be unusual for these folks to begin financially supporting someone whom they believe is strong enough to keep the same thing from happening in Bricket Wood. They might even be persuaded to do this while continuing to attend a nonPCG ACOG.
If I'm right, and Flurry actually pulls this off, watch for income to plummet in all the other ACOGS! So long, Dave! Whose literature and colleges did you say would be discontinued and shut down? Whose ministers did you say were going to be unemployed? What summer camp was going to be shut down? Looks like you need more effective spies, better intelligence.

Since God is employing Mr. Pack does He sign Mr. Pack's paycheck?

Dave who?
God
Everything is God's and he owns it.
ReplyDeleteOk, I have no problem with that.
So... then who and where, the hell, is Dave Pack in that
equation?
Isnt Dave being a bit assuming and being a bit of an interloper herel???

"One should never pay tithes to God’s representatives and then try to supervise or otherwise watch over the way the ministry or Church headquarters spends them." DCP
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of how he operated his church when I worked for him. People sent in their third tithe in good faith that it was going to be used to help widows and orphans as Dave claimed it would. I noticed that very little of the third tithe that Dave collected from his followers was actually spent on widows and orphans. Instead, at the end of the month, he would "sweep" any unused 3t into the regular church bill paying account and use it for non 3t purposes.
The lesson here for his followers is that if you are sending Dave your 3t, DO NOT expect his to be answerable to you or anyone else on how he decides to spend it. I doubt much of it is actually going to widows and orphans, and do not expect him to prove to you he is being faithful with your tithes. It sounds like he is still doing his best to hide his misuse of earmarked donations. My guess is that he has a close relative to the bookkeeping for him so no one will call him out on it.
Thomas L Munson Nemesis of Pack
Basically, what I am getting from this is that Dave is saying that since his god owns every.last.thing, including all the atoms and molecules in your body, and since Dave "claims" that he is the single most important man alive today, his god's one single "representative" and "apostle" to all the world, that his god has basically entrusted the entire universe to Dave, so Dave, in effect, owns the entire universe, including not just all your money, but YOU yourself!
ReplyDeleteI would hate to think what Dave would do if he managed to become a political dictator over an entire country, instead of just a religious one over an insignificant little voluntary fiefdom. Every man, woman, and child of that country would have to flee or become Dave's slave. In the secular and free world, Dave Pack would become one of the infamous names of history. Thankfully, Dave is too limited by by circumstances to get into that much trouble, but if he weren't then he definitely would. Dave is made out of some pretty evil stuff, and I am just sad that his (thankfully few) followers are unable to discern what a truly bad person Dave is.
I would prefer to give my tithe to the really needy charitable institutions than give it to an ungodly church institution that masquerades and pretends to be the true church who in the first place has no authority to collect tithes but imposes tithe on its members. Let those gullible enough truly give Pack God's tithes so that there is greater value for him to be thrown to the lake of fire together with HWA and other wolves in sheep clothing that squander God's tithe.
ReplyDeleteWhen you quote the "God owns" scriptures you are quoting the ideas of men of old who said, "Well, I don't own all this, so it must belong to the gods."
ReplyDeleteOf course it does not. Even though this topic is "biblical" it does not mean it is correct. Bronze age observations to explain their world and all as we should understand, (but don't I know), do make it actually so. If I quoted you the nature of Ginger Bread houses and witches from Hansel and Gretel you'd not feel obligated to believe it all to actually be so. Gingerbread houses actually don't hold up well in the rain. Gods don't need cattle or own them if you don't
Exploding stars pouring their guts into the universe are the source of all animals, veggies and minerals, and over a very long time. No God needs stuff. People need stuff. Dave needs stuff
It helps me so much to read comments here. David Joshua Adolf Pack has snuck in through the back door at my house; through the internet, and deceived my loved one into thinking that the end is near and he is the man who will soon be head of God's government. Please report him to the IRS, they have forms online to fill out and submit via email if you suspect tax fraud. His statements about don't ask what the donated money is used for, don't worry about paying off the second mortgage that you send to RCG because the end will come before due date, and any other stuff like that, report him! I hope he gets locked up like Weinland. Only then will followers see him for what he is; a con man. Please help my family by reporting this criminal to proper authorities. If the IRS and Atty Gen hear it from enough people, they might act. If only one or two complain, they think it is but a few disgruntled parties. Please help, and thanks for caring and contributing to this forum. Thank you to the host. I appreciate all of you more than you might realize. I have to remain anonymous because Dave's gustapo seeks out dissenters and retaliates.
ReplyDeleteEvil incarnate.
ReplyDeleteHe's not as bad as the scumbag Christian TV preacher Creflo Dollar, who preached about rounding up and lining up people who didn't tithe to him, and shooting them in the head with uzi guns.
ReplyDeleteWonder if Dave is aware of ION Television running 30 minute Hair Club for Men/Women infomercials in his time slot? He might want to look into this asap to prevent anymore hair loss.
