Hawking came out recently with an article that has caught the eye of many in the scientific community where he declares that 'black holes' do not exist.
Bob who also claims to be a scientist who has had his articles published in various journals wants you to know that he is better informed than Hawking because of the simple fact he is a member of the true church.
Thiel trys to smear Hawking and all scientists with a typical COG stance that scientists don't know as much as they think they do. That translates into the following:
"These scientist are ignorant about the real true because they reject God. Since they reject God they are not part of the TRUE CHURCH and are therefore ignorant about all truth. They are tools of Satan sent out to spread the evil of evolution in the world. We, as COG members, know more than they do because we have the REAL truth."
You can see that stance in Thiel's very first paragraph below.
According to Thiel only 'truthful logic' can be found in the COG.Basically, to help demonstrate that various scientists, despite claiming to be somewhat certain about many things in the universe, simply do not know as much as they act like they do. And, they are often changing parts of their explanations.
Thiel calls scientists the same thing he calls Christians outside of the COG, they are all so-called. They are nothing more than ignorant fakes who follow Satan and his demons. Only those enlightened in the COG belief system are the REAL scientists and Christians.I listened to a radio interview from New Zealand recently where the scientist being interviewed admitted that just as much antimatter should have come to being when matter did, that this is a puzzle to him and other scientists about the origin of the universe. Those of us who believe in the Bible and the use of truthful logic realize that since God created the universe, He simply could have chosen to produce much less antimatter than regular matter.
Instead of accepting this, many so-called scientists (they are so-called when they accept beliefs that they know contradict various laws of the universes) claim that they need more time to develop alternative explanations. And many have been claiming this for well over a century. Whether or not there are ‘black holes’ or ‘grey holes,’ the Bible properly teaches:
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, (Romans 1:20-23).
Bob is a good example of science having facts but not certainty and religion having certainty with no facts
ReplyDelete"God.did.it"...as an answer, to anything, one may as well say "42". At least we know that 42 is a number, we don't WHAT a god is.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Steven Hawking is not saying anything new. A "black hole" is something solid and very dense with so much gravitational force that even light doesn't escape...but, it never was a hole that one can fly through to another dimension...except in the minds of sci-fi writers and idiots.
So... in Bobby's world, retesting and revising your hypothesis based on newly available data is the mark of a bad scientist.
ReplyDelete*head explodes*
1. You don't need to be a member of the true church to understand the many sound arguments against black holes that have been out there in the scientific community as long as black holes were dreamed up by pseudo intellectuals. All you have to do is have the intellectual courage and integrity to check out both sides of the story, like a real scientist, not a grovelling Hawking follower.
ReplyDelete2. If COG ministers are so smart, why do some of them believe in dark matter and dark energy, things which have never been observed, and were only invented to prop up the big bang, which relies entirely on faked and discredited data?
Alleged BH phenomena are far better explained using EU theory than the totally debunked and discredited GRT, but now that GRT is essentially a world religion supported by the academic priesthood it cannot be overthrown by logic and evidence.
ReplyDeleteNone of the regulars on this site can distinguish between science and pseudo science since pseudo science has become an integral part of their new religion since leaving a cult. Their emotional need for a security blanket does not allow them to question the mainstream again.
They are now in the cult of Einstein and Hawking. At least they don't have to keep the Sabbath, and can smoke pot.
Science today is about getting some results, framing those results in an attention-grabbing media release and basking in the glory.

Uh-oh, our former resident conspiracy theorist and accepted-science-denier has taken up residence again. Dark fire will not avail you, flame of Udûn. Go back to the shadows.
ReplyDeleteI am constantly embarrassed for Bob Thiel! There is a real knack to coming off as being simultaneously arrogant and stupid, and he's got it. Wonder if he knows or cares how he sounds.
ReplyDeleteBB
Well, Anon 3:57...and 4:17...and 4:44...I must admit that I cynically dismissed your erudite comments -- until you quoted that utmost source of scientific enlightenment, the Canberra Times.
ReplyDeleteI will henceforth defer to thine genius.
Is Bob the one who has the "so-called" double dose?
ReplyDeleteThe "God Said It, That Settles It!" quote is one of my favorites.
Problem is, that there are no holy books that are the "Word of God"... regardless of wishful thinking or wanting to believe God has imbued them with a superpower to know the answer to, "What'chu talkin' bout, God?", complete with tingly 'Spidey-sense' in the superpower-charged answer.
Another favorite of mine is the Young Earth Creationist kook Ken Ham, who likes teach children of all ages to respond to sciency stuff with his quote, "Were you there?"
Thanks to spirit-filled folks like Ken, we now know- 1)That the Grand Canyon was carved in the short time of the Biblically verifiable Noah’s flood, and 2) You can't dispute it, since the Bible is the Word of God, and you weren't there, so you can't know any differently!
Heck, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Because you weren't there to see otherwise, and the Bible is the Word of God, there's lots more goodies that just HAVE TO be true!
