After David C Pack's humiliating defeat this past October with his failed prophecy that all the COG's were to be reunited under his leadership, his followers are looking outside the Restored Church of God for greener pastures.
Living Church of God is prepared to take in these lost members and others with anticipated explosive growth.
Everyone knows that since God's favor no longer rests on David C Pack that it is now hovering over Rod Meredith.

It has been a little noisy this week as we do some remodeling in the Executive Office area to make room for growth. It certainly has been exciting and inspiring to see the doors that God is opening with television and the Internet. . . We are scheduled to have a phone meeting for the Council of Elders next Wednesday, so we would appreciate your prayers for that meeting and for all of God’s people as they face challenges in their lives.—DSW
But you see, The Gerald Flurry Bunch are just the opposite. THEY DON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE TRYING TO COME INTO THEIR KINGDOM.
ReplyDeleteThis is because of a certain scripture >THAT prophet, not THE prophet, but THAT prophet, is trying so desperately to fulfill...
And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Malachi 3:17
Gerald Flurry interprets >jewels< as only a handful. Of course Gerald's handful, not God's big ol handful.
...And this is the story of how the McFlurry clan dreams of being God's one and onlies...LORDING IT OVER EVERYONE ELSE ON THIS PLANET EARTH!! The End.
"It has been a little noisy this week as we do some remodeling in the Executive Office area to make room for [anticipated] growth."
ReplyDeleteWait a minute. Did he say the Executive Office area? That's not where the "growth" is supposed to be happening! Nobody in executive offices wants "growth" IN the executive offices! That just means more competition and more people to have to split the loot with! Maybe he just means that they need more office space to draw up all those plans for what to do with the MASSIVE influx of new members.
Haven't you learned from watching Davey not to count your suck— um, I mean, chickens before they've hatched?
Anticipated growth. Thankfully, it's the only kind of "growth" there is in Armstrongism. You'll find lots of that kind of "growth" in all the splinters. It comes in all shapes and sizes: "phenomenal," "staggering," "unprecedented," "explosive," "earthshattering," etc. It's enough to make one gyrate a little. Actual growth? That's a little harder to come by...chirp, chirp, chirp...
"It certainly has been exciting and inspiring to see the doors that God is opening with television and the Internet [for poaching—everybody knows that's the only place 'growth' comes from]."
I'll say, inspiring and exciting for everyone except Dave Pack and Ron "FudgePack." And as excited as these members must be to jump ship, if they allow themselves to be "rescued" by Meredith, well, it's out of the Pack and into the Liar...
HU: you should know by now that the upper echelon can do what they want with tithe money that they gleefully take from impoverished widows. Who needs to heat their home in winter when the LCG brass want more room.
ReplyDeleteMeredith is probably bringing more of his relatives to work in the office. Since the members don't like lil'Jimmy maybe they will follow one of his other kids.
The Lord will certainly bless His Work.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't it.
ReplyDelete"Living Church of God Preparing For Massive Growth"
This is what I expect too. They are tightening their belts and "preparing greatly to reduce their standard of living" for when RCM dies and the LCG experiences massive negative growth.
Got it. "If you build it, they will come."
ReplyDeleteSorry, folks. There is just too much readily available information about all of these groups a few mouseclicks away.
What's the first thing Mom does these days when she gets the urge to take the kids to church? Most likely, she goes online to the church's website to find out what time services begin. Not that you'd ever see an LCG meeting place in your neighborhood, or hear about the church as a result of the personal evangelism of a friend or neighbor, but what happens when you Google "Living Church of God" or Roderick C. Meredith? The LCG websites will come up, but so do all of the sites of its critics. And, these are numerous and formidable. You generally will not be confronted by such a barrage if you Google your local Baptist or Episcopalian church! This is a huge red flag and deterrent!
What if you take a different approach? Suppose you've read an article or listened to a broadcast identifying Anglo-Saxon founded nations as being some of the lost tribes of Israel? You want to learn more, so you Google that. Scholarly dissertations come up on your screen that bomb that theory clear back into the stone age! And so it goes with other of their cherished doctrines. These dissertations play a key role in the decision-making process!
In order to obtain growth based on other than transfers from competing splinters, the factors which could provide solid basis would be consistently fulfilled prophecy, verifiable healings, or the total destruction of the internet. These would be viable ways to over ride the now well known problems which the groups inherited from HWA. But, they are not likely to happen. These groups don't even possess the feel good factors which attract members to traditional churches. Membership in an ACOG is a continual push-pull process, in which an individual feels drawn to it and trapped, but is put off by the many negatives over which he's got to fight his natural impulses.
Planning for growth is fine and dandy if you are attempting to promote a positive attitude amongst members. Effective leaders will always set a positive tone. However, continued splintering and attrition are much more likely scenarios than substantive growth.

"If you build it they will come" LOL
ReplyDeleteThe failed Pack business model
Taking people's money doesn't work anymore, people are too smart for that.
If you want to attract people these days then give them money like Uncle Sam now does with open-border immigration.
It then becomes:
"If they come, you will build it"
(water infrastructure, welfare housing, hospitals...)
I guess they think that Bob Rodzaj, Peter Nathan, and Steven Elliott will bring large numbers of members with them ;-)
ReplyDeleteEven if everyone in RCG went to LCG, how many people would LCG pick up? 200? That's a one-time growth of probably only about a 5-10%.
ReplyDeletePack's ancestors (sorry I don't know the rules for posting links)

Anticipated growth. Thankfully, it's the only kind of "growth" there is in Armstrongism.
ReplyDelete"Anticipated growth" is also the only kind of growth there is in Christianity also- despite the fact-challenged pronouncements of numerous sleazy "Christianity-salesmen" with their addle-brained need to claim otherwise.
"Even if everyone in RCG went to LCG, how many people would LCG pick up? 200? That's a one-time growth of probably only about a 5-10%."
ReplyDeleteIf 200 people send 10 percent of their income to a church, that adds up to a lot of money.
Some parents of my friends bequeathed their estates to the LCG, and "luv" like that adds up to a lot more cash infusion for the cults.
There's lots of potential money to be had from those whose allegiance may be swayed toward "this armstrongist cult or that armstrongist cult", so it's no surprise that people show up on this blog extolling the virtues of a particular armstrongist cult of their leaning, whether it's UCG, PCG, LCG, or whatever.
