Jeremy, Audra, Laura, Felonious, and Convictus
Since Ron has been languishing in Club Fed as a felon over the last year, he has had to send out his wife Laura, his divorced daughter Audra and a couple other women to keep the rapidly dwindling sheeple in line. The more Laura and Audra speak the more that leave. On Mike's False Prophet Ronald Weinland: Don't Drink the Flavor Aid Served by False Prophets there was this comment by one of Ron Weinlands's ex-elders.
Mike:
Regarding Wayne, he is one to watch for this reason. Laura and her band of merry women are beginning to realize that they cannot be the face and voice of pkg. Who really wants to see laura, audra, or Jeremy?
Wayne has the personality and voice to attract the attention of the remaining membership. Wayne is sociable and friendly. Laura is all about character assassination and demonizing all who oppose her.
“IF” Wayne becomes the saving face and voice of pkg, this will become a very real threat to ronnie and company. “IF” this popularity grows it would give Wayne the ability to take it all away from the false and fake prophets and witnesses. However, pkg is in decline and on its way to becoming extinct. The question is, “will the weinlands run the risk of this”? In this game, winner takes all!!
Johnny does not have the sociability aspect and lacks in charismatic speaking. Let’s face it; Johnny is riding the “yankee” gravy train for as long as he can. When pkg implodes, he will still have a following in Georgia and he knows this. However, he has learned about corporations and the collecting of tithes. Johnny gains, Ronnie looses!
This is something that should be watch for further development. Read other comments here.
ROTFLMAO! Its so hideous I can't stop looking!
ReplyDeleteMy eyes! That is indelibly ingrained now! Every frag queen I see now I will think to be a Weinland undercover!
ReplyDeleteUm.....that was "drag" above
ReplyDeleteThe picture would be more believable if they were wearing Victoria's Secret underwear paid for by PKG money.
ReplyDeleteRotten Ronnie hasn't commented from his prison cell lately. It may be because he is busy preaching to the spirits in prison.
You know though, he needs to keep his eye on Scripture -- especially the part about Satan rebelling and taking a third of the angels.
Or it may be he'll lose everything. Entropy has set in with a vengeance.
There is nothing worse than an incompetent woman trying to insecurely make up for it with increasingly harsh and vindictive "leadership." There are women who have vision and leadership skills. Carly Fiorina comes to mind. But why should anyone be surprised if Laura and Audra aren't competent at fleecing Ron's flock, since the job was so suddenly thrust upon them. They didn't build the business, and they were never trained to run it.
ReplyDeleteIf this Wayne guy has the face and voice to better fleece Ron's flock, this kind of upstaging will not be allowed to go on for long. Even if Wayne tries to keep the peace, he'll be way too much of a threat to be permitted to remain. Now is his golden opportunity to start his own church business, I guess. If he wants to get ahead, he'll have to strike out on his own. He's reached the ceiling in Ron's organization.
Even though I deplore the splintery nature of the COG universe, nothing would give me more satisfaction than to see all of Ron's followers stolen by someone else while he rots in prison.
Donno -- PKG standards are pretty low.
ReplyDeleteGeesh, reading the bickering on that page... a lot of majoring on the minors there. All over a wildly fluid lunar calendar (that the Hebrews' God could have paused at any time during his lengthy discourse of laws and explained the better accuracy of a solar calendar, but he didn't) and yelling "SIIIIIIIIN" at each other.
ReplyDeleteGood thing I left when I did!
In a personality cult, when the face of the operation is marginalized, unless someone comes forward quickly to take up the slack, there is contraction and decline. One problem inherent in these cults is that the "leader" generally does not countenance a second banana who has the drive, intelligence, and charisma to fully take over in case of emergencies or illness. Such a person would be a threat. This nearly guarantees that at some point, the cult will take a hit for which no recovery plan has been formulated.
ReplyDeletePKG has lost a year. Their gameplan involving the "silent witness" was poorly hatched and ineffective, as the Armstrong-influenced mind is simply not prepared to accept a woman as part of church government, let alone as leader.
Without appearing to endorse any of the splinters (searching for the true church amongst them is like comparison shopping for diarrhea), I will say that the splinters with board of elders type governance are better equipped to take a hit, and survive, although the Armstrong-influenced mind generally seems to prefer the personality cult model with one-man government from the top-down. This virtually ensures the vulnerability of most of the 700 Club of splinters. Most of them are run by men who, deep down, realize that they have lesser abilities than the men from whom they splintered. Their powers to attract new members and cult-jumpers are fairly limited, and smaller groups are especially vulnerable to further splintering.
I tend to doubt that the Weinland cult will survive at this point. We know that Armstrongites as a group don't care about failed prophecy, corruption, or moral failures. They seem to dwell on a package of doctrines, and the orchestration of some sort of end-time ministry. Weinland seems to have altered the doctrines and he has been reduced to an Eberhard-Faber yellow pencil ministry. As Frank Zappa used to say in his anti-meth public service spots in the '70s, "Rot your body, rot your mind, rot your heart, cucaracha!"

...WOW, BREAKING NEWS!!"...ME.
Weinland actually represents all of Armstrongism and what's wrong with it.
ReplyDeleteIt has been wrong from the very beginning in extreme ways and is easily proved to be utterly worthless. It is a niche belief system which is a relic of the past. The lifestyle doesn't work for those who have moved into the new millennium. It gives empty broken promises which drain resources from its followers.
Weinland is quite compatible with Herbert Armstrong (sans the incest) and is the penultimate representative of all of Armstrong along with being a fine example of what is wrong with it: Ego, money grubbing and hubris are the watchwords of egocentric selfish leaders who evidence not one shred of what might be termed the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
The greatest concern is that the followers (members) are clueless and cling to rubbish with all their might with the least reason to do so.
We all are waiting for the rank and file to wake up and come to their senses.
We should be grateful for Weinland because he makes it very clear for all to see, except for the most blind.
Good point BB. Since Ron has been in the big house, PKG has been a cult in search of a cult figure. The temple is empty! Who will emerge to fill the vacancy? Laura can't. That's painfully obvious. There are no goddesses in Armstrongism. Whoever can will become the new god of PKG. Wish I could - j/k not really :)
ReplyDeleteHey, Gary, like the new background decor. And, I'd rather see that than Laura Weinland - day or night...
