ReplyDelete6:30--- If you mean did he live and die as an Armstrongite, that being your criteria as to whether he was a good guy or a bad guy, it is not always that simple.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how some people did it, but there were some believers in HWA who somehow managed not to take on cultic, negative, and judgmental character traits. They remained positive, raised children without abusing them, and were truly concerned for all of those around them, whether those people happened to be members, ex-members, or non-members. They maintained balance, and were admired by all those who knew them. Don't ask how these exceptional people had the strength not to succumb to the evils of the cult, or to get dragged down, because unless it had something to do with their prior training before they became part of Armstrongism, I couldn't tell you. There were just some people who somehow had the uncanny knack of laying with dogs without getting fleas.
To answer your question, Harry was definitely one of the good guys. I don't make that observation casually, either.
