Lord, Its Hard To Be Humble When You Are The Chosen Church of God (PCG)

Gareth Fraser, one of PCG's new up and coming elite in Edmondk preaches to the PCG membership about "humility."

For some reason Gareth believes that the PCG is the pillar of humbleness.  Gerald Flurry is the most humble person to ever walk this earth in the every footsteps of Jesus Christ.
Humility is one of three great qualities God is looking for in those loyal Philadelphians who worship Him. “O, man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God” (Micah 6:8).
Only "loyal" PCG members can be humble.  The key word is "loyal."
A humble person recognizes his personal status in the growth process of conversion. We are not to think too highly of ourselves. “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” (Romans 12:3). After humbly submitting to God, we must continually realize that any good in us, anything of value, comes from God. Of and by ourselves, we can and will accomplish nothing of value without the direction of our Creator (John 15:5). But we ought never to forget these inspired words of the Apostle Paul: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13).

Does this look like a man of humility?

Humility in the PCG boils down to one thing....submission to authority.

We must be sure that we respect and honor God’s ministry. Our receptiveness to God’s instruction via His ministers is a solid yardstick of our humility. “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account …” (Hebrews 13:17). The ministers have a heavy burden to carry and we must be genuinely receptive to instruction, “… that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you” (verse 17).

We have been called individually (or sanctified as youths) by God to understand His revealed truth. God wants us to be eager for His instruction. We must set aside our own opinions, notions and persuasions and strive for the attitude of the man after God’s own heart. “Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day” (Psalm 25:4-5).

God assures us, “[T]o this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word” (Isaiah 66:2). That is teachableness and humility; that’s what we need, along with “a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart” (Psalm 51:17).

There it is, plain as day! PCG is all about brokenness.  By breaking the spirit of its members and brow beating them into submission they are better able to control them. Guilt plays an important part in keeping the membership in line.  Contrite hearts usually feel guilty about something they have done wrong.  In the PCG this is a CONSTANT state of mind that the membership are in.  They are never quit good enough, have missed the mark some how, or have pissed God off so much that he has delayed his coming yet again.  The PCG membership lives in fear of Flurry and his minions.  Just look at the Dattalo,  Culpepper, Turgeon fiascoes over the last year.  The PCG is one sick, morally bankrupt personalty cult!

  1. How hypocritical it is of this Gareth Fraser to demand PCG members be humble when his paymaster is not humble at all.

Gerald Flurry constantly insists that he is the "one man" through whom God is working with on Earth today. How is that humble?

He says if one does not follow Gerald Flurry by being a member of PCG then he or she is not a Christian and is doomed to suffer the Great Tribulation.

Gerald Flurry even demonizes the COG people who sympathized with PCG during the court case with WCG accusing them as being flatterers and of leaving PCG to go through the court case alone. What is the evidence for this accusation? That they did not join PCG.

Gerald Flurry even demonizes any one who believes HWA's teachings but has not joined PCG of being heathen. In these hateful words that follow Flurry is specifically talking about WCG members who stayed in it or joined another COG group.

"After Mr. Armstrong died, they rebelled. Fifty percent sold their birthright as Esau (or Edom) did. And 50 percent became “heathen.” According to Bible scholars, this word has to be defined by the context. The word heathen means Gentile (see Strong’s Concordance). This group of God’s people have rebelled and become spiritual Gentiles.

"Edom and the heathen destroyed the tabernacle of David when they rebelled against God." (Gerald Flurry, The Lion Has Roared, Chapter 3, p. 35.)

Flurry is many things. Humble is not one of them.

By the way, Gareth Fraser is used to write little puff pieces glorifying HWA by remembering the visits to world leaders he made and saying they are wonderful and great. It is not mentioned that many WCG members were driven to their wits' end at the extravagance HWA enjoyed doing this and were compelled to resist the exploitation that existed at the time at great personal cost. These facts are cast into the memory hole.

  3. You would think that the sheep of the spinter folds would finally wake up the idea that one does not have to obey anyone or anyone's opinion, view, speculation, ideas or insights in the world of religion and all things God.

I would advise learning to use the phrase my dad learned quick in the Local Elder game in WCG under such notables as Dave Pack and others, along with the requirements for him from his doctor at times , "I will take that under advisement."

That simply was dad's way of a polite "no, you can go pound sand and don't tell me what I 'should' or 'must'do, think or believe"

These types of men in pretend religious authority are nothing and deserve to be challenged by the sheep of the folds and repudiated as mentally unstable and dangerous to one's family as well personal mental, emotional and spiritual health.

Value and love yourself folks...leave now and reclaim your individuality. Walk your own journey and go where you will not where others tell you that you should go. You aren't disobeying any God....merely men who think they have more of line to one than you do which they don't and can't.

    No shoulding on yourself anymore.

And hold on to your wallets. That will drive them mad.

  5. Gareth Fraser said: "...A humble person recognizes his personal status in the growth process of conversion. We are not to think too highly of ourselves..."

    Really? That's interesting.

So, if one is a part of Gerald Flurry's group it is really okay if we THINK HIGHLY of ourselves......just so long as we don't think "...TOO highly?"

  6. Damned narcissists.

Gee, it would be nice to respect and honor God's ministry if we could find them -- it's never going to happen in the Cult of Herbert Armstrong Mafia.

What is going to happen is a lot of idolatry.

You'd think they'd be embarrassed to be atheist Satan worshippers (according to Scripture) replete with their false prophets, liars and psychopath drunkards, but no, it's always honor the scoundrels because... they can lead you away from the Kingdom of God.

Hey, do you guys think you are fire proof?

  7. Is Gerald covering up his "excitement" so to speak, of being with these three "MADE UP WORLDLY WOMEN" with the program held in his hand??

  9. After having been in the Cult of Herbert Armstrong Mafia for over 40 years, I'm not sure what a humble man would look like.
