David C Pack: If You Do Not Send Me All The Money In Your Savings Accounts You Will NOT Be In The Kingdom of God!!!!!!

Here is a video from Michael Venish that has an excerpt from one of cult-meister David C Pack's sermons where he tells his gullible followers ...everything you own, including your savings accounts belong to me.  You must send it in or you will NOT be in the Kingdom of God.

The excerpt starts around  3:30.

David C Pack is NOT happy that some members refused to give him their savings account money and tries threaten them with eviction from the Kingdom of God.

How anyone could let this narcissistic abusive miscreant make such threats against them and sit there is beyond me.

I look forward to the day David C Pack is sitting in prison.

Rod Meredith Tells Younger Members To Work On Their Careers, Get Married And Have Kids Because Jesus Is Not Returning Till 2030

Rod Meredith has spent over six decades making one prophetic utterance after another.  Every single one of them has been a failure.  Now Meredith is looking towards 2030 as the coming of his god.

Meredith feels he is an authority on the subject of prophecy because he learned it all from HWA, Herman Hoeh, Ernest Martin, Charles Dorothy and Robert Kuhn.  Meredith wants you to feel impressed by his declaration he was a "pioneer student at Ambassador College."  All the men he quoted have either rejected their former teachings or made their own long list of failed utterances.  Kuhn and Martin rejected the silliness of Armstrongism so I am surprised he even mentioned them.

Because I have been one of the pioneer students of Ambassador College and of the ministry of this Work under Herbert W. Armstrong, I have been able to know and converse for many hours with nearly all of the leading men who studied prophecy in detail in the early years. I have also read some articles and books on prophecy and biblical chronology by outsiders. Every one of the leading men that I talked to in this Work—including Dr. Herman Hoeh, Dr. Ernest Martin, Dr. Charles Dorothy, Dr. Robert Kuhn and others—have acknowledged that they came to realize during their study of biblical chronology that we could “easily” be 20 or 30 years off in either direction! Therefore, it should be easy to realize that Christ may not come until about 2030ad!
A person would think that after spending 60 some years predicting the eminent return of Jesus Christ that he would stop setting dates since every single one of them has failed.

Several decades and several generations have come and gone and Meredith's predictions have ALL failed.  He assures us though that "this generation will NOT pass away" till Jesus Christ returns.  Of course this is what he has been saying for over 60 years.

Brethren, this same passage of scripture also tells us to “watch” for certain events to occur: “So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place” (vv. 33–34).

Meredith also feels that all of his failed prophecies have not been in vain.  It has been a time for the church members to learn from their experiences.  God delayed his return so they could learn more lessons.
After all, we have been able to go ahead with our lives for these decades. We have had the opportunity to have families and perhaps even grandchildren, to experience wonderful trips and opportunities in life and to learn lessons that we would not have learned if Christ had come 30 or 40 years ago.
Essentially Meredith is telling his members it is their fault God has not returned and that it is IMPORTANT that they LEARN THEIR LESSON in this situation.  For some reason everything in Armstrongism is a "situation" to be reckoned with.

So, I hope all of us in God’s Church will learn the lessons God intends from this situation: “Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand” (James 5:7–8). In the following verses of James, we are told to remember the prophets of God who set “an example of suffering and patience” (v. 10). We are told to learn the “perseverance of Job” (v. 11) so that we can understand that the end intended by God is going to work out in a very compassionate and merciful way.

For the sake of our own eternal life, we must heed the lessons of the “ten virgins,” who begin to slumber and sleep before Christ came. For these professing Christians were not zealously involved in serving others, “in doing the Work” and in overcoming their sins. They were not earnestly studying, praying, meditating and fasting to draw close to their Creator and be filled with His Spirit. Therefore, when Christ came—pictured by this parable—they did not have God’s Spirit and were shut out of the wedding, picturing the very Kingdom of God! Jesus then concluded: “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you’” (Matthew 25:11–12).
Then like any good COG failed prophet he has to take the focus off of himself and places it on the membership.  It is up to THEM to reorient themselves into doing a much bigger work by sending in more money.

We, therefore, need to go all out in seeking God and using the time and talents we have right now to assure our place in God’s coming Kingdom and the opportunity we have to truly serve millions as kings and priests during Christ’s reign.
Don't even think about questioning Meredith's latest failure!  Don't even dare!

We must never be involved in “murmuring” and “disputing” and complaining about the fact that Almighty God is giving human beings more time to write the lessons of human suffering and for His own children to “work out” our own salvation before Christ returns. Rather, we must be glad that God has called us now: “Rejoice in the Lord always.
You should immediately fall to your knees and thank God he has given you and the church more time on this earth.  the more time you have the more money you can send in.

Those of us who have been in God’s Church for a long time need to be very gratefulfor all the time we have been given to learn the lessons of life and to serve more during these years God has granted. And we need to zealously use the talents our Father has given us to serve our Creator, to serve our fellow man and to do His Work over the next several years—however long it is until Christ’s feet are again upon this earth!
Those of us who have been part of Armstrongism for a LONG time know that Meredith's mantra has always been, "5 to 15 years."  Sixty some years later and its still the same old thing.

Cry Aloud, Spare Not!!!!! Like Jesus, I Hate Football and Those Scantly Clad Cheerleaders!

Football season starts this week and the resident football Pharisee of Armstrongism is doubling down on his hatred of football and those scantly clad whores that pretend to be cheerleaders:

I do not watch American football. I consider that it is evil (also, no Christian can really defend how professional football cheerleading females are often publicly dressed and displayed). Others want to falsely act like there is nothing wrong with watching it.
Bob Thiel feels he is the worlds foremost authority on EVERY topic imaginable.  Only Jesus Christ could have a better opinion than Bob.  Thiel knows for a fact that Jesus Christ hates football.  Bob even quotes scripture to back up his malarkey:

Later today, the National Football League (NFL) is scheduled to begin its official season for this violent sport. Many do not wish to seriously consider that American football is harmful, despite the facts, and would prefer that I not post about it.
The Bible suggests otherwise:
1 Cry aloud, spare not;
Lift up your voice like a trumpet;
Tell My people their transgression,
And the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)

Talk about scripture twisting and taking things out of context!  Never mind the fact that Armstrongism itself is one big enormous transgression, Thiel has to settle upon football.

There has been a lot in the news recently about some of the dangers of football.  Because of that Thiel believes it is not ethical for TRUE Christians (i.e. only those part of his personality cult) to watch football.

There is no doubt that American tackle football is dangerous to health.  While some in the world consider it watching it to be an ‘ethical uncertainty,’ true Philadelphia Christians (as well many who are not) realize that something that this sport is physically harmful and should not be encouraged.
Football and those that watch it are hating their neighbor:

From the violence on the field, to the under-clothed cheerleaders, to some of the half-time antics, there is a lot wrong with American football.

I could not reconcile loving my neighbor as myself and cherishing my flesh and not doing violence to any man by watching others do it in a football game. Nor the following:
9…You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. (Romans 13:9-10)

Thiel also throws in Apostle Paul as a stance defender of football hating:

Is watching American football a deed that would be pleasing to God?

The Apostle Paul wrote:
12… they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.(2 Thessalonians 2:12)
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:28-32, NKJV)

Thiel is quit perturbed that so many mock him and his silliness:

Some may not wish to hear about any of the evils of violent sports, and instead prefer smooth things, but hopefully I have tried to follow the Apostle Paul who declared:
26 Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. 27 For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God. (Acts 20:26-27)
The bodies and blood of those who engage in violent sports is important. It does not show Philadelphia love.
Then to get in his final bitch slap at COG members and leaders who continue to watch football he throws out the hated Laodicean label.

Those Laodicean Christians who are fans of American tackle football are NOT Philadelphians and will be subject to violence themselves as they will have to go through the Great Tribulation if they do not repent (Revelation 3:14-22).  Encouraging violence in sports does not show brotherly/philadelphian love.
You can read his asshatery here: NFL 24: Should You Be Watching?

Only in the cult of Armstrongism can such inane stupidity reign supreme.

Pat Roberstson and David C Pack: Two Malignant Frauds

Its easy for us to mock  Pat Robertson here as he tells an 80 year-old women who cant afford to fix her car to go out and sell her possession eBay and to look for a job while she is still expected to send in her tithe money. Those of us that have left abusive cults and religious bullshitters like this know abuse when we see it. Tithing is NOT a command of a the new covenant and is NOT a requirement for Christians, but that's another topic.

Armstrongism has been filled with similar hucksters like this.  Herbert Armstrong expected the same thing of his followers.  Gerald Flurry has told his followers to do the same thing.  They sell personal belongings, refinance homes and sell businesses to help fund the PCG cult compound in Edmond, Oklahoma.

David Pack, ensconced on his cult compound in Wadsworth, Ohio who does the same thing too.  While he lives in a huge home and has millions of dollars at his disposal, the poorer members are expected to keep Pack's personality cult afloat with their tithes and demanded offerings.  Delusional and narcissistic Pack also feels he has the capability to deny salvation to anyone who does nto send in more money.  See: David C Pack Cult Believes It Can Deny SalvationTo Disabled Member Unless He Starts Giving More Money

New Book by Monte Wolverton: Living 120: A Story of Good, Faith, Fraud and the Pursuit of Longevity

Chasing 120 on Amazon

Monte Wolverton has a new book out that is very loosely based on Armstrongism.

It is fiction but based on his experiences growing up in the old WCG. I think you'll recognize many of the main "characters" including the "villain" a former ad-man turned preacher & purveyor of health-foods, named Tyler Belknap. It's a page-turner!  - Laura Urista, Facebook
 -------

Amazon book review:

A highly successful but unscrupulous health mogul promises his followers 120 years of robust life if they stick to his “Bible-based” regimen and buy his products. Through his vast Wellness 120 empire, based in the Portland, Oregon area, the charming and charismatic Dr. Tyler Belknap has amassed a cult-like following of people who are working to achieve 12 decades of life. In nationwide infomercials and books, the fast-talking Texas adman-turned-preacher targets Christian consumers with Biblical-sounding promises of health and longevity. Many of his followers seem to enjoy improved health. But others suffer serious side effects from foods and supplements laced with exotic substances and GMOs developed in Belknap’s secret underground research facility in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Belknap and his cronies will stop at nothing to keep their edge in the market, bribing politicians and officials, coercing suppliers, sweeping dissatisfied customers under the carpet and crushing whistleblowers. In the midst of this culture of false promises and religious-sounding fakery, Belknap’s creative director Dave Whitman and his wife Marcia have enjoyed a comfortable life. Suddenly they find themselves at the center of a huge crisis when their teenage son suffers severe brain damage from one of Belknap’s psychoactive substance-laced foods. They must come to grips with the fact that the captivating and persuasive leader they have admired for decades is a crook—and that justice does not always happen in this world. Yet in spite of all that, they learn that life goes on and thrives—even though houses of cards in which we sometimes misplace our faith may fall around us.
Other commentary:
Monte Wolverton's first novel is a heady brew of faith and finances as people's spiritual hungers are exploited by an unscrupulous man bent on making money under the guise of making disciples. Chasing 120 will take you on a ride through the perils of greed, misplaced faith, and awakening to the truth no matter how painful. – Wayne Jacobsen, author and President of Lifestream Media
---------
The novel is not just fun ... it's important. Even aside from the GMO conspiracies, I believe Wolverton's tale speaks to the deep disillusionment of so many people who've been burned by religious hucksters and corporate pop-gurus--people who've built empires on whatever vulnerabilities we carry in our woundedness. It's not enough to upset ourselves with the injustice of spiritual abuse. We need to ask what conditions set us up for it in the first place. What is the desperate need the charlatans promise to fulfill? Rather than just stealing false hope, might there be a good word that delivers true hope? Monte takes us there in Chasing 120, without platitudes or cliches. It's an excellent read that leads to some healthy thinking.  - Christianiy Without Religion/PTM

LCG Disgusted With the Water Bucket Challenge...and NOT for the Reason You Might Think

Why is it that the Churches of God feel that they have to weigh in on every single thing that goes on in society?  As dumb as the water bucket challenge is, what business is it of ANY COG to stick their nose into it and throw out warnings?  Why do they have to give their opinions about things like this when their own churches are filled with vile unchristian goings on?

LCG has always felt that their opinion matters in all things. Wait till you see the main reason as to why the LCG does not care for the water bucket challenge.  Its quit laughable and silly!

From the LCG weekly update 8/30/2014

Ice Bucket Challenge:  In America and other parts of the world where the Internet reaches, millions of people have taken the Ice Bucket Challenge—allowing someone to dump a bucket of ice water on their heads to raise money for a charity—and then posting a picture of themselves on Facebook to record this chilling event. While contributing to a charity is a personal decision, events like this can easily become an exhibitionist activity and another way to get your picture on Facebook in front of millions of viewers. While this is a seemingly innocent activity, there are medical concerns with such a temperature shock if a person has a pre-existing heart condition. As Christians, we are advised in the Scriptures to “come out” of this world and its faddish ways (2 Corinthians 6:17). Making a contribution to preaching the Gospel to a dying world might be a better way to improve the condition of mankind.

Douglas Winnail Reminds You That You OWE The Church Your Tithe of The Tithe ASAP!!!!

LCG's Douglas Winnail is out to get more money out of LCG members with Herbert Armstrong's silly money grubbing tithe of the tithe.  We are getting close to Feast time in the COG's and it is vitally important that you send in a tithe of your second tithe to help fund the ministry to be able to attend their dream Feast sites.  What better way to keep the Feast than to have an all expenses paid cruise.  Its a shame that a chruch that takes in millions and millions of dollars a year cannot spring for funding a Feast buildings around the world.  You would think that LCG and other COG's would pay for rental facilities  as a Thank-you for brethren sending in their tithes all year long which keep the ministry  and leaders in their luxurious homes surrounded by fine art, gold and silver. But no, its important to continue to take and take from already financially stretched thin members.  Besides, it keeps them in submission by making them feel guilty when they did not send anything in.

Tithe of the Second Tithe
For those who are able to contribute a tithe of their second tithe to help defray the expenses involved in conducting the annual Holy Days, including the Feast of Tabernacles, it would be greatly appreciated if this contribution could be sent at this time (if it has not already been sent). The tithe of the second tithe is used to help brethren with limited funds attend the Feast of Tabernacles, as well as to pay for hall rentals and other administrative costs associated with the annual Holy Days.  LCG Weekly Update
