Baghdad Dave: Multiplying Steaks, Phantom Vehicles, Bouncing Bullets, Massive Healings and Plenty of Nay-Sayers

Baghdad Dave next takes a jab at ALL the 700 some splinter personalty cults of the Church of God.  There is not one single COG out there that has had healing like have happened in Baghdad Dave's church.  God has spit the rest of the COG out and only heals in the Restored Church of God.

DRAMATIC HEALINGS AND PROTECTION: As mentioned, the Church has recently seen some of the most amazing and inspiring miracles in memory. Since my post-Feast sermon describing how God’s Church could begin to see more of His power through miracles and protection, this has been happening—and in a BIG way! Members have been experiencing an unprecedented instances of DRAMATIC healing and protection! The accounts are now being reported daily, with often several in a single day (three today so far)—and we are smaller than the big splinters.

A 2-part sermon series given January 10 presented 30 PROOFS that mass healings will soon come to ALL OF GOD’S PEOPLE. The Bible is bedrock certain on this truth, which is in addition to the two great truths referenced at the outset. It will be posted several days after the sermons posted February 2.

What are some of the miracles Baghdad Dave is proclaiming?

Phantom cars that are able to pass right though people on the freeway:

“We were traveling down I-95 heading toward Melbourne [Florida]. Another member was driving and we were talking when suddenly a car passed right through us! It was going very fast and never slowed down.
I was sitting in the passenger seat and the other car passed right through me and the vehicle I was sitting in! It made a whoosh sound.
Woo Hoo!
God is amazing! His protection over us is profound. What happened to us is just another proof we are truly in God’s one true Church.”
 Another phantom vehicle:
The officer told her what had happened since he had been behind her. She had swerved into the other lane and passed right through a semi-truck (while unconscious!). She then passed back through the semi-truck to the right side of the road and came to a stop and parked. The trooper said that although he ‘saw everything that had happened, he could not write it up since no one would believe him.’”
 Bouncing bullets:

While driving as an escort behind a semi-truck, a member in Colombia was attacked by two armed men on motorcycles. They tried to kill him and steal his car. One man shot into the vehicle twice. One bullet left a hole through the door but incredibly missed everything, and was not found. The other bullet hit him in the abdomen. Miraculously, a direct hit bounced off, leaving only a bruise. (Author’s Note: All of us at Headquarters have seen the pictures of the middle of his merely bruised abdomen and the mangled bullet that bounced off.)

God protects members car but lets pagan civilian's car get severely damaged:

When we pulled into a parking lot to assess damage—no one was hurt! The elderly gentleman in the car that rear-ended the two members was bruised on his hand when his airbag deployed. The rest of the group just felt somewhat jarred. The front of his car was crumpled and the radiator was pouring out fluid. The car carrying the first two members barely showed damage to the rear, just scuff marks and two cuts in the bumper. The non-member’s car was severely damaged. The hood of my car was crumpled a little and the grill and bumper sustained damage but I was able to drive home three and a half hours at 70 mph.
Canes are being thrown away!

In the Dayton, Ohio, congregation, a member came to services leaning heavily on a cane. She was in constant pain and barely able to sleep. After being anointed, she stood up and began walking slowly. Soon she put down her cane. The pain was gone!

Baghdad Dave even has multiplying steaks!  Get the bar-b-que ready!

The next story involves a married couple who host Sabbath services in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The service involved a Bible Study with a meal in between messages. The couple had prepared a crockpot of steaks in gravy with other dishes. They had purchased an exact number of steaks for the members in attendance. Just before services, a couple from the Knoxville congregation arrived unexpectedly. Since there would not be enough steaks for the two extra members, the host couple decided they would not eat theirs to allow enough for everyone present. The pastor closed the service with prayer and asked God to bless the food to the nourishment of all. The couple waited until everyone had gone through the food line. When they went through the line, they noticed the crockpot still had steaks in it. They each took one. As they sat down to join the others, they were shocked to see that everyone had a steak. Bewildered, they kept it to themselves. Later, the couple was cleaning up and noticed there were yet more steaks remaining! God had miraculously multiplied the food. We call it “the miracle of steaks and loaves”!
Next Baghdad Dave claims that the is NO COG in existence today that is having the number of miracles that his group is having.  Not a single one!  Pack your bags Martha!  We are heading to Wadsworth!

The above stories are only the beginning of what we are hearing by the dozens. Sadly, they stand in stark contrast to what is NOT happening elsewhere. Yet they could happen—and eventually will—to thousands who respond to what God plans to do.
Baghdad Dave then says that people will ridicule his claims.  Now WHO would EVER dream of such a thing!  Ghastly days!  What is this church coming to??????

Of course, enemies will seek to play down or dismiss what you have just read (a few already have)—as well as the sermons to be posted February 2. But then they have to—or you might leave them and join us—and that cannot be permitted. Their tactics will work at first, but these efforts to thwart God’s Work will stand only a little while longer.
Baghdad Dave then pulls a Herbert W trick.  Only YOU can work out your own salvation and PROVE to yourself that what Dave says is true.  Even though Baghdad Dave wants it made very clear to you that HIS church is the ONLY one his god is working with in the entire world today.

This letter has brought much proof that God is only working in one organization. But the burden of proof that we are the only true Church and sole Body of Christ rests with neither The Restored Church of God nor me. It is not our responsibility to prove to you God’s government is here—or that the only Work He directs is here. This is your responsibility! God commands His people, “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” (Phil. 2:12).

All of the other Church of God's are nothing but "DEPLORABLE!

Jesus taught, “You shall know them by their fruits” (Matt. 7:16), and shortly followed this with, “Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them” (vs. 20). The fruits of the splinters are deplorable. These organizations are wrought with ever-worsening division, confusion and disagreement—and widespread and worsening doctrinal compromise—truly the blind following the blind. On the basis of fruits alone, all should leave these organizations! Determine to be without excuse in identifying God’s Church, Truth and Work.

  3. I'd say lets put this to the test of time. If what he says is true, it can't help but make it into the media. Also, we will know more in the very near future from people who leave RCG and begin posting here.

The sorts of things he is talking about did not even happen in old school WCG. Somewhere, Don Billingsley is probably asking himself where cars that pass through people were when him and RDA needed one back in '58. "Elijah's" kid needed a miracle, and didn't get one.

I doubt that this is going to make any of the other splinter leaders even blink! If God were really with Pack, the so-called Haggai prophecy would have come to pass exactly when Dave had originally scheduled it. People would have been incinerated. And, although grotesque, that might have actually been somewhat convincing. This latest barrage is simply an attempt at over-compensation.

  5. Does anyone here remember the name of the reporter in Wadsworth who gave Dave a good review when he was building his first shrine, Collette... Some Akron OH News Paper. She should interview Dave about the miracles. I like Biker Bob's comment about the media will report it if what he says is true. She would be a good start, she should be informed.

  6. A few years back, someone gave a sermon about how their little group had noted the miracles of Fourth Century Christian (sects) with power and prayed that God would give them Power.

And a woman who had maladies such that she couldn't even leave her apartment was anointed and miraculously she got better and was able to go out shopping and carry on other activities normally. Their little living room congregation was SO impressed by the Power they got.

It lasted a week and she went back to the maladies she had before and actually got worse.

I doubt that any of these 'miracles' occurred. Either Davey is lying or people hallucinated. Nevertheless, let's wait awhile and see the end of this... because...

it is doubtful that God blesses false prophets and narcissistic jerk abusers, but I hear that Satan does....

We wrote a letter to the Akron Beacon Journal and were summarily snubbed. Maybe though if others tried and flooded their inboxes they might actually lift a finger to do some real journalism?

  8. I have a miracle to report.

I was praying to my God Satan and I was healed of AIDs, cancer, a broken neck, a low IQ, obesity, and warts.

So Dave, your god is nothing. My God is God.

  10. Byker Bob read my mind as I was thinking the same thing about Richard Armstrong’s tragic death as I was reading the blog. The God of Armstrongism is a very strange God. So, let me make sure I have this right:

God could have performed a miracle by turning the vehicle that struck Don Billingsley and Richard Armstrong while they were conducting a baptizing tour in 1958 into a “phantom vehicle” - and spared Richard Armstrong’s life thereby giving his one true Church an Armstrong successor at the end of the life of His Apostle, Herbert W. Armstrong. But God chose not to!

Instead, God’s will was for Richard Armstrong to die, and when the Apostle dies some 28 years later after his son Richard, God’s will was for Joseph Tkach Sr. to become God’s Apostle followed by his son, Little Joey Tkach who proceeded with changing the major doctrines, shrinking the Church, pocketing the wealth, and causing the WCG to splinter into 700+ small ineffective groups. One of those small ineffective groups is headed by David Pack who claims his small group is the only group God is working through as witnessed by the miracles God is performing with members of his group.

It seems very strange of the Armstrongite God to allow Richard Armstrong to die prematurely in an automobile accident significantly altering the future history of His Church - all so someday 55 years later God could perform a very low wattage work through one of the WCG splinters headed by Dave Pack performing miracles of phantom vehicles that avoid the death and bodily injury of automobile accidents.

It just seems like the Armstrong God has to go through a heck of a lot to get to His end result – the Kingdom of God on this earth!

  11. A pathetic report, no data we really want to see, like debt levels for example, just diversion, smoke and mirrors.

I think his delusion has driven the outfit to dangerous levels of leveraged financing. The Auditorium will never happen. Expect him to soon sell the extra land just acquired to keep the creditors happy for a while. No proposed softball diamond either, that land will go.

Now is not a good time to be engorged in DEBT as this is the problem that is taking the world economies apart right now. Lavish spending religious sects are always the first things to get wiped out.

The whole history of Armstrongism makes no sense at all. Would an all powerful god paint himself into a corner by committing himself to only work though an insignificant and shrinking church headed by a corrupt autocrat?

And to further put things in perspective, HWA's "seat-gyrating" "work" of "god" was never particularly high-wattage to begin with if you consider that HWA's god was supposedly the one and only supreme, omni-everything, majestic deity of all. Many other preachers/churches have represented Jesus better, to more people, with less corruption, and beaten HWA/WCG on every other metric. Sure, he was on TV. So what? He was just one more televangelist. Big deal.

  15. “This sixth annual 'Fruits' letter begins a series of crucial postings. Next is a series that will be posted Monday, February 2. This series answers HUGE and GROWING questions on the minds of God's people over the last almost 30 years since Herbert W. Armstrong died. If you plan to read or hear nothing else from me, do not miss this series. It contains 130 PROOFS of TWO GREAT TRUTHS no one has addressed!”--From David C. Pack's letter of January 30, 2015 called Identifying God's Church, Truth and Work that was posted at the website of his Restored Church of God.

For those who like to learn from history--rather than learn things the long, hard, expensive way--David C. Pack spent the summer of 2013 coming up with crucial, weekly, Friday, announcement postings that were leading up to the big date of August 31, 2013. David Pack had some great prophetic guess that he had supposedly read out of the biblical books of Haggai and Zechariah. David Pack claimed to have 24 given reasons + 32 not given reasons = 56 total reasons why it would happen when he said it would. After his August 31, 2013 prophetic guess totally failed, David Pack suddenly and conveniently discovered that the books of Haggai and Zechariah supposedly used two different calendars, and quickly rescheduled his prophetic guess for a spring fulfilment, assuring his followers that they would not have long to wait. It did not happen in the spring of 2014 either, and some people then apparently began to expect it to happen in the fall of 2014, which seems strange considering that David Pack had explained where the original mistake in timing had been and that a spring fulfilment of the prophetic guess made more sense anyway.

Realizing that a mere 24 given reasons + 32 not given reasons = 56 total reasons for something to happen were not enough to make anything actually happen, David Pack appears to have grown much more cautious and careful. After his August 31, 2014 prophetic guess failure David Pack wrote, “I will certainly never repeat such a mistake.” Surely anyone who can learn from his colossal life-wrecking mistakes (other people's lives wrecked, that is) and move on is to be greatly admired. Having learned his lesson well, this time David Pack was much more careful, and claims that this latest series of his “contains 130 PROOFS.”

In my younger and more naive years I might have sincerely wondered why the whole world would not be interested in listening to and taking seriously someone who had “130 PROOFS” of something. I mean, like, with “130 PROOFS” of something, what could possibly go wrong, huh? Wouldn't, couldn't, shouldn't at least one of them turn out to be right? How could it all be totally false? Wouldn't the person's mother have taught him that it is wrong to tell fibs, and that it is especially wrong to tell big whopper-type fibs in God's name?

  16. “A big decision is coming for you...”--From David C. Pack's letter of January 30, 2015 called Identifying God's Church, Truth and Work that was posted at the website of his Restored Church of God.

This is true. It is a rather big decision. David C. Pack has written literally thousands of pages and talked for literally thousands of hours. Not everyone has time to read and listen to all that, so I'll quickly summarize just a few of the larger points, and not get into the dozens, or hundreds, of smaller points. For those who do not know what the decision involves, allow me to explain some of it briefly.

    1. Will you send all the regularly required tithes and offerings to David Pack to do with whatever he sees fit, such as using third tithe for things other than helping the poor?

    2. Will you cash out your retirement savings plan(s), take the income tax hit in the process, and send the money to David Pack?

    3. Will you sell your house(s), or remortgage your house(s), and send the money to David Pack?

    4. Will you send any money you have in your savings account(s) that you have to David Pack?

    5. Will you do continual fundraising for the rest of your life and send the money to David Pack?

Additional, new, never-before-expected requirements might be added at convenient (for DCP) and inconvenient (for you) times. Some such cases that appear to be in the works are listed below.

    6. Will you be willing to believe in, and claim to believe in, and claim to have “proved” for yourself from your own Bible, all of David Pack's latest prophetic guesses, even when they totally fail and really prove to be FALSE and WRONG?

    7. Will you be willing to write a “miracle story letter” that supposedly “proves” that the RCG is God's one and only true church on earth that God is working with, to help to deceive more people into going to their destruction?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I would just bet that if you were to walk into any megachurch or other praise community, you would hear very similar stories. In fact, I know it for a fact.

Dave is so self-centered, and chauvinistic about his church. The only difference is, that in a large, modern, church, they have Jumbotrons on which to testify.

  18. “The fruits of the splinters are deplorable”--From David C. Pack's letter of January 30, 2015 called Identifying God's Church, Truth and Work that was posted at the website of his Restored Church of God.

Now that is something that I have seen for myself and can totally agree with. That is one of the things that I like about David Pack. He tells it like it is about those other rotten splinter groups.

Perhaps people who have tried David Pack's own Restored Church of God splinter group can post their own personal observations about the real fruits of the RCG that they have personally tasted, comparing them to the fruits of the other splinter groups, so that other people can learn from their dietary choices. A sort of relative rotten fruit comparison guide for the obsessive fruit shopper who has a morbid interest in unhealthy fruits and nuts.

  19. “(#20.) "They had purchased the exact number of steaks for the members in attendance....God had miraculously multiplied the food.”--From David C. Pack's letter of January 30, 2015 called Identifying God's Church, Truth and Work that was posted at the website of his Restored Church of God.

When I see the price of a good steak, I wish that they would multiply by themselves like that.

Too many ignorant COG people can't write well, so why should it surprise anyone that they can't do math either, and can't even count steaks correctly, and then try to turn it into a miracle story? Another very real possibility is that they had greatly overestimated the amount of alcohol needed for the members in attendance, and this contributed to their fuzzy math and fuzzy recollections of what had happened after they all woke up the next morning.

Get ready for David Pack to multiply the number of sinners in the RCG by requiring all RCG members to write more of these “undeniable” fake miracle stories that he can then use to “prove” that God is working through him and his RCG.

  20. "A big decision is coming for you..." --From David C. Pack's letter of January 30, 2015 called blah blah blah...

    a) This decision is actually already behind moi. It got made forealz when I realized that lusting for heaven or fearing a lake of fire are among the worst possible reasons for behaving in a civilized manner that anyone could come up with, and that I want nothing to do with these sticks and carrots or either of these potential (though highly unlikely) afterlives.

    b) In retrospect, this decision doesn't seem all that big after all.

Will RCG members and employees collapse from exhaustion after being worked so hard and harangued so loudly by DCP, and start to dream that such things have happened? Will there be mass hysteria in the RCG? Or will drunk and crazy RCG teens, as well as drunk and crazy RCG adults, now actually start to drive their cars and trucks and vans head-on into other vehicles on the highways of the nations to see what happens or to “prove their faith”?

    LOL

Or from another point-of-view, methinks the gentleman protests a wee bit too much.

2 or 3 high-quality reasons to expect something to be true beat a million low-quality ones. Once a guy gets out beyond 5-10 "proofs" of even something plausible, additional ones only begin to make me wonder what's up with him. I would guess that 130 "proofs" make something approx. 10 times less likely to be true than if he only gave us 13.

  23. David C. Pack's letter of January 30, 2015 called Identifying God's Church, Truth and Work that was posted at the website of his Restored Church of God contained a list of 21 “undeniable accounts” of miracles that allegedly happened to RCG members.

These miracle stories are intended to be a great attraction for the ageing people (with incomes, savings, houses, and retirement plans) in the various WCG splinter groups who might have all sorts of health problems at this stage in their lives.

However, it might be well to remember the real undeniable account of David Pack's own first wife Shirley who died of cancer on July 22, 2007 at age 62 even though she was in the RCG and married to the very center of the “circle of protection” (later renamed the “circle of mercy” after she died) DCP himself. Rather than getting Shirley miraculously healed at all, DCP probably just helped to work her to death.

  24. Years ago when David C. Pack was still in Roderick C. Meredith's Global Church of God, David Pack produced a sermon available on cassette tape called 30 Reasons To Follow The Truth. With some more talking by David Pack it turned into 60, and then eventually 90, reasons to follow the “truth.”

I still remember thinking at the time that you don't need 30 reasons to follow the truth. It seemed to me that the fact that you should follow the truth was just one of those self-evident things. My other thought at the time was that if David Pack had given this sermon ten years earlier it probably would have been called 30 Reasons Why You Must Never Ever Leave The Worldwide Church of God, INCORPORATED No Matter What.

Rather than come up with a zillion reasons NOT to follow what DCP claims is the “truth” let me just give you ONE BIG REASON: You never know ahead of time what all new ideas these self-appointed dictators will come up with in the future and firmly expect you to go along with after you have too much time and energy and money invested in the scam to make a graceful exit from the cult of these greedy, lying, false prophets. The next thing you know you will be the accomplice of a lying false prophet, and will be helping him to ensnare and harm others.

Their fruits/works? The idea is determine whether they are "of God" or are they "of god: Satan!"

    For example:

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Is Dave proud? Is Dave boasting? Are those fruits? Works? We realize that one can't get good fruit from an evil tree.

Perhaps Dave should consider these two verses before he again boasts about why he feels he should feel so proud:

Romans 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

James 4:16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

Also, the god Dave Pack is striving to teach us about is a god that is a "respecter of persons" ...

  27. Extraordinary claims indeed, these miracles. Let's play a game of "What's more likely?" I wasn't there when these events are alleged to have occurred, but I can imagine non-miraculous scenarios that could have been interpreted as miracles.

First, eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable. Could a close approach between two cars on the highway have been so threatening that just before the crash witnesses squeezed their eyes shut and did not see that one or both cars had veered just enough to miss, going past each other with a swooshing sound? Which is more likely, a violation of physical law, or faulty perception?

I offer delusion of mine to show how easy it is to misperceive an event under stress or excitement. On a deer stand, for several minutes I watched a buck approach from my right to my left. When he came even with me, he caught my scent and milled around trying to locate the source. I shot him, and noted with satisfaction that the shot had been well placed, entering the left side behind the shoulder and exiting on the right a little farther back. But when I skinned the deer, it was obvious he had been facing the other way; the bullet hole on the left was unquestionably the exit wound. My mind had fixed so firmly on his original direction of travel that it did not register that he had turned around even though I saw him do so with my own two eyes. They weren't even squinched shut.

As for the bullet bouncing off a man's abdomen, leaving only a bruise: which is more likely, that some nonmaterial supernatural barrier slowed the projectile down, or that it lost enough velocity in penetrating the vehicle door to keep it from penetrating flesh? The non-miraculous explanation is quite adequate.

Once again, I had an experience that sheds light on the "miracle." While working in the garden I was carrying a .22 revolver to eliminate a family of woodchucks. One peered at me from behind a piece of tin roofing, not showing enough of its head to make a decent target. So I shot it through the tin. The rodent disappeared into its hole. There was no sign of blood at all. I can't verify that the animal sustained a bruise, but can assure you it didn't get the full force of the bullet.

And as for the multiplying steaks, muscles in a cut of meat often separate when heated for a long time, as in a slow cooker. Which is more likely? That the meat spontaneously increased in volume, or that the steaks "multiplied" by dividing into smaller pieces?

  28. I think Davey has truely lost it,(meaning the spirit of God) if he ever had it. He now is as phoney as a three dollar bill and trying hard to deceive others into believing his nonsense so he can suck more money from them so he doesn't go belly up. How can anyone believe the nonsense of passing through transports and the Benny Hinn type phoney healings, wow, this guy is really desperate. When I read of the so called miracles they stand out as being made up and are laughable, of course God can do these, but I for ondo don't but any of it. How about the cop who witnessed the car going through the transport but wouldnt fill out a report, and it doesnt say he now is a believer either, it sure would have made me believe once I found out about her belief in God and her church etc.,but no, he just writes it off and goes his merry old way without a word as if nothing happened. These are all obviously made up so called miracles by a man who is extremely desperate to get more followers so he can get more money and therefore maintain power. A child could have come up with better more believable healings and miracles than these ridiculous dreamed up ones. Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel, teach the people the word of God and to obey that word, not go and tell them stories that are made up and far fetched so you can try and scam money from them.
