Rod Meredith is still spitting and snarling at this blog and its evil postings. After making an ass of himself by publicly criticizing this blog, leading hundreds and hundreds of LCG members here, Meredith was strangely silent about us today. He has other worries that are hitting LCG right now. This trouble is coming from the outside too. This time it is a letter to the LCG membership from a family that McNair and League spiritually abused and kicked out of LCG.
Remember a while back I had a post about Bob League becoming Meredith's new gestapo agent? Rod Meredith and Bob League Continue Gestapo Tactics In Living Church of God - particularly read the comments.
In that post a reader said the following:
In the last year, 24 people that I know of have left the Charlotte congregation alone largely in part to these Gestapo tactics and absolute tyranny against anyone who dares question or have a critical/independent thought. Absolutely nothing has changed since Leona McNair. RCM uses his position and his microphone to destroy those who don't bow down to him.The more RCM feels he is losing control, the tighter he clamps down. Practically every sermon is about obeying and submitting. Not to God, but to church authority. They demand blind obedience. Mr. League even went so far as to say that if he were to call a member in the middle of the night and ask them to drive circles around the block for 4 hours, they should obey without asking questions.The League/ McNair team also monitors members private Facebook pages and ask members to remove posts or pictures that they don't like for whatever reason. They are so blinded by their power and agenda that they can't see all the members taking note of the false allegations they make about long-time members, the late night interrogations and the exodus of LCG members. It is widely talked about in whispers after services and at Friday night get-togethers. There is a storm brewing and they are completely oblivious!
Today I received the following update on the fall out from the Meredith/League purge. It seems that one of the families has written a letter to the entire Living Church of GO detailing how awful McNair and League were to them.

To make matters worse, one of the victims of the McNair/League purge wrote an open letter to hundreds of church members outlining how horribly they were treated. It went out yesterday. McNair admonished members not to reply to the letter during announcements in Charlotte today. He said, "we are not going to respond to it and neither should you". The letter plus the articles on Banned are reaping havoc at LCG headquarters! It seems like they are finally reaping what they sow.
More on that letter is to come.

As an added bonus concerning Bob League.....remember the "donkey sex" article?
Bob League was also obsessed over sex like Meredith is. Skirt Lengths, Carob and Bob League's Fascination With Donkey Sex
My reaction is, if you are/were disfellowshipped from a tyrannical organization like LCG, then count it as a stroke of good luck. It simply helps you see the group as what it is, that much sooner.
ReplyDeleteAlthough at the moment it may seem/be rather stressful, that's only because you still see some worth in being in the organization. Some time will pass and you will realize how good it is to be out, and may only wish it had come sooner.
(Friends and acquaintances are lost, to be sure, which is sad, but new ones will be gained and hopefully not based on subservience to deluded and power-drunk leaders).
Say you know, I have a unique suggestion. Roderick Meredith and his henchmen hirelings may never have thought of it. It's unusual and novel.
ReplyDeleteThis week the Passover is coming up. Here are my suggestions:
1) Examine yourself;
2) Acknowledge your sins, particularly of being arrogant and abusive (not to mention being controlling);
3) and this is the most important one repent;
4) Make reparations for what you have done; it's going to be a rough road to hoe.
Or...
You could just die. Meredith's death will have consequences. If you think things are bad now in the LCG, just wait.
No. No. It doesn't bother me. I'm used to being ignored (and sometimes vilified).
You know what is so sad. Mr. Apartian warned Mr. Meredith about doing these things to people. He told him not to do them and so did Mr. Carl McNair and Mr. Charles Bryce. Told him it would come back and destroy the Church. So sad he could not see and his true nature has to come out.
ReplyDeleteI didn't always follow the rules. On several occasions during my years of membership, I continued friendships with people who had been disfellowshipped. Oddly, some of them actually continued to believe that WCG was "God's True Church". One family did everything they could to remain in the church, and when they were disfellowshipped, blamed one of the enforcer types whom they believed was an aberration, someone who had gone off the deep end, and had made a mistake. I felt so strongly that this was the case that I placed a phone call to one of the top ministers in Pasadena, and tried to arrange their appeal. I was turned down, and was told that there was a chain of command in place, and that that was the channel through which matters woukd continue to be handled. The way it was put to me let me know that I myself was now on shaky ground for even asking this on their behalf.
ReplyDeletePersonally, when I left WCG, I was totally convinced that it was not God's church, and that HWA was not who he said that he was. And I know a lot of other people whose experience was similar to mine. But, just imagine the years of angst that people go through if they still believe their splinter is God's only, and they find themselves on the outside, denied re-entry, and with no right of appeal. In their minds, that would practically define the words "lost soul". It appears that that is what these former LCG people are going through.
False teachers do not leave their followers with an easy path!

The pillars died and we're left with backbiting, hateful rulers.
From The Wanderer
ReplyDeleteYour comments on the poor dedicated folks is a sad note for sure. Also unfortunate is their feelings towards themselves. I was exposed to The Plain Truth ages ago and WCG Radio rodeo. Basically was terrified for decades and afraid..to live..and I was not even a member. The two...gentlemen..that visited told my wife that perhaps God did not want her...went over big with her. There's nothing like positive reinforcement to get your day going ya know. I thought HE died for us all..and..come to me...hmmm. Any way..silly me for losing decades of self..no pity party..many reading could probably relate.
I would like to open this to the gang on deck though because I think it's decision time for The Wanderer. I have not seen this wacked behavior in COGWA...seem like nice folks. However...I like that word..the Herbie Hybrid thing just seems to cling to the little brain wrinkles I have..a kinder gentler take of the same? Time to find out. Thanks in advance.
Wanderer,
ReplyDeleteDon't do it. COGWA is made up of ministers who did not think United was strict enough. You will have no liberty to be yourself or seek your own relationship with God. Avoid all the Armstrong COGs. They are dead or dying.
Wanderer: British Israelism hasn't just been disproven, it has been totally obliterated! And, all of the splinters still teach it and act as if prophecy based on it will ultimately be fulfilled. You might say that the B.I. theory is the backbone of the whole movement. It is the big lie of Armstrongism.
ReplyDeleteIf you believe that the sabbath and holy days are still to be kept, there are Messianic Jewish groups in most major cities that keep them and don't teach B.I., or preach extortionary levels of tithing. They also don't practice intrusive or totalitarian church government.
There is no such thing as the true splinter. Being a Lone Ranger Christian is about the only way you can avoid others taking control of your relationship with God.
Having said all of that, let your conscience be your guide. The worst thing would be making a commitment, and then having a conflicted conscience over it. Best wishes in your journey!

"Personally, when I left WCG, I was totally convinced that it was not God's church, and that HWA was not who he said that he was.
ReplyDeleteWhen I left, it was because I was convinced there was no such thing as a "one true" anything. The very idea is both elitist and logically fallacious.
It was so funny to watch 3 women at LCG HQ this Sabbath. They were running around whispering to people. "Did you get a letter?" Then going on to explain that it was lies alll lies.
ReplyDeleteThe party line was being pushed hard.. They had to get the people to believe that the letter was full of lies.
Do they really think that the people are that stupid? Oh yes we believe just everything you say... Just because you run around and act like you are someone special. Because you are a ministers wife or went to Ambassador College therefore you are above all of us. Really??? How stupid can you be?
We don't believe a word coming out of your mouth. We know what liars you are. We stand back and watch you and laugh among ourselves at how absolutely ignorant you are.
Annon 11:20
ReplyDeleteYes, it was funny to watch these women in action after church. To those who don't know what "the letter" is, it was an open letter written by some of the victims of the League/McNair purge last fall. It was emailed to hundreds of LCG members last Friday so the LCG gossips were like vultures with fresh meat at church Saturday.
Don't be too harsh on them though.
Here's why:
1.) They were friends with the purge victims so they almost have to be LCG cheerleaders now to convince the ministers that are closely watching their every move that they are not spies or dissidents.
2.)They have guilty conscious' because although they were part of the outwardly vocal growing mistrust in headquarters ministry, they snitched on all their friends and were rewarded with a "get out of jail free" card. It didn't hurt that they made an enormous "offering" to convince League/ McNair of their devotion to LCG.
3. They are weak, of poor character and known liars. They make a living ripping people off (http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=320500).
So sit back and enjoy the show knowing that they will ultimately reap what they have sown.
