While this is geared towards the fraudulent prosperity gospel preachers deceiving people today, this is also applicable to various Church of God ministers and leaders. Dave Pack, Gerald Flurry, Rod Meredith, Vic Kubik, Wade Cox, David Hulme, Jim Franks, Bob Thiel, James Malm and all the other COG leaders operate with the same money making agendas.

ReplyDeleteOne of the best summaries of televangelists ever made. Absolutely brilliant. Tilton, Murdock, Coontz, Dollar and the whole lot of them are totally in it for the money, nothing more.
ReplyDeleteThe COGs version is tithing, and tithe of the tithe. What a crock. Take away the money and they wouldn't know what to do with themselves. There was a time long ago when I had myself convinced that HWA, GTA and their whole gang of thieves had a dollop of integrity and believed what they preached, totally apart from the money. But they didn't, and they're offshoots don't, either. No money, no church. It's that simple.
Scammers, all.
Watched this episode last night and am glad he brought attention to this scam to a wider audience. These televangelists are simply narcissistic, predatory sociopaths, and it sucks that the IRS won't come down on them because political demagogues will make some BS cry of "persecution".
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately this video will not run outside of the USA which is a shame as I really wanted to watch it!
ReplyDeletetry searching for it on youtube and see if any of the other locations open for you.
ReplyDeleteThe reason it is so hard to leave COG is that basically the message is true & the fellowship. There must be st least a few ministers in the church who are sincere but I would imagine pressure is put on them to beg for money...did Christ say to give as you are able?
