Ron Weinland, the recently paroled felon, is declaring to the world the he is the apostle and prophet to the Church of God and the world. Life caged up with Big Bubba for the last 3 1/2 years has left Weinland with lots of time to write and plan his miraculous ministry once his ankle bracelet is off and he has left the half way house. During his prison sentence he has begun to write another book. His previous two were epic failure sin prophecy with absolutely nothing he wrote came to pass. Weinland is right up there next to Dave Pack in prophetic failures.
It one of his latest entries to his blog, he declares to the world that he is a prophet and an apostle. Apparently we should be paying attention to him and what he is preaching.
He writes:
So yes, I am both an apostle and a prophet of God and of Jesus Christ to the Church of God, and to the world, in this final period of the end-time. I am the last apostle in this age of mankind’s self-rule.
Yet even more, I am the counterpart of John who wrote the Book of Revelation. He was the only other apostle whom God also made a prophet. John wrote the book, but did not understand the revelation it contained. It was not for his time, but for the end-time that would lead up to the return of Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of God that will reign over all mankind for 1,100 years. Nearly all of the Book of Revelation is about those things that would occur in the end-time which lead to the Kingdom of God being established on earth for 1,100 years.
Just as John was imprisoned and placed on the Isle of Patmos and then given the contents for the Book of Revelation that he wrote, I too am currently in prison and writing this book.
The government of the United States has convicted me of willfully and purposefully evading paying taxes. It doesn’t really matter what I say about it, as people believe what they choose. I have stated some about this on the book website. There is no purpose in trying to unravel all that has been twisted and misrepresented concerning what is true. God will do that soon enough.
Why is it that some many of the dingbats of Armstrongism have to declare themselves to be prophets, apostles, Elijah's, John's, and a myriad of other biblical characters? Every single one of them, from Dave Pack, Gerald Flurry, Bob Thiel, and others have been proven to be liars and false prophets. Weinland contuse this rather pathetic line of mentally disturbed men who al claim allegiance to the Church of God.
Weiland takes his prophetic nonsense one strep further the other COG apostles an prophets. He has named his crazy, diamond hoarding wife to be an apostle and one of the two witless witnesses.
Revelation 11 is a prophecy about two prophets of God who will finish His work that leads directly to the coming of Jesus Christ. The primary work of these two people will be conducted within a very specific timeframe. It is the 7th and last period of 1,260 days that are contained in the complete count to Christ’s coming. These two prophets are also given the title of God’s two end-time witnesses. I am one and my wife, Laura, is the other.Weiland still believes the myth that his god is reproducing himself to make one big happy family. Ron and his wife are the epitome of what a REAL apostolic family should be like, thus the are the perfect example of what the family of God will be like.
Family is going to learn to be structured and live
the way God intended from the beginning. True husband and wife teams are going to become the norm as they learn to work and share life together the way God has always intended. The woman is not servant to the man! That struggle is about to end, and thank God for that!
My wife and I have been a team in God’s Church for right at 40 years now, and I am thankful to say this is just barely the beginning. We have served in God’s Church together within the ministry for 34 years. We have been exceedingly blessed and now God has given both of us a work to fulfill together as a team. It is our commission and one that God and Christ will fulfill through us that will lead up to Christ’s literal return, and finally, the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth.
I know for a fact that God is not using one of the most corrupt families of Armstreongism to be the example of what the God family will be like. If this were true then humanity is seriously screwed!
As might have been asked on the old "To Tell the Truth" program, "Will the real end time Elijah please stand up?"
ReplyDeleteSomebody should seriously have a discussion with these guys about the laws of probability. Everyone just has to assume what they all thought was the mantle of HWA. Since he was the original imposter, they are all simply running around in circles, chasing a dirt devil.
BB
COG membership needs to seriously consider the symptoms of mental illness in ministry. Their one man leadership would be a doctoral candidate's dream thesis on mental illness within ministry. These men has some seriously misguided views of themselves. At a higher level,it is the Bible itself that provides these types of delusional thinkers with all the backing they believe they need to make fools of themselves and impoverish their followers mentally, emotionally, spiritually and literally.

ReplyDeleteDelusion of Grandeur By John M. Grohol, Psy.D.
~ 1 minute read
A delusion of grandeur is the fixed, false belief that one possesses superior qualities such as genius, fame, omnipotence, or wealth. It is most often a symptom of schizophrenia, but can also be a symptom found in psychotic or bipolar disorders, as well as dementia (such as Alzheimer’s).
People with a delusion of grandeur often have the conviction of having some great but unrecognized talent or insight. They may also believe they have made some important discovery that others don’t understand or appreciate.
Less commonly, the individual may have the delusion of having a special relationship with a prominent person (such as being an adviser to the President). Or the person may believe that actually are a very prominent and important person, in which case the actual person may be regarded as an imposter.
Grandiose delusions may have religious content, such as the person believes he or she has received a special message from God or another deity.
Sometimes, in popular language, this disorder may be known as “megalomania,” but is more accurately referred to as narcissistic personality disorder if it is a core component of a person’s personality and identity.
In such disorders, the person has a greatly out-of-proportion sense of their own worth and value in the world. People with this issue can also sometimes have a taste for the finer, more extravagant things in life."
HWA, Dave Pack, Gerald Flurry and other one man COG's certainly have fit this last paragraph . It is also very common that those with self absorbed "callings" and delusions of grandeur are the least able to accept their mistakes and misconceptions or get help.
http://psychcentral.com/encyclopedia/2008/delusion-of-grandeur/
I'm not sure whether it's delusions of grandeur, or simply lying. In high school. I remember some students living the image of their favorite movie star. They knew it was a act, but it made them feel real so good.
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm here, these minister can borrow from wrestler names to make themselves feel important. How about, The Ultimate Warrior Minister, or The Living Legend Minister, or The Spiritual Hitman, or Hulk Minister, or The Satan Terminator etc.
Dennis, you should also consider the fact that HWA did not set up a pension system for his ministers. I believe that you have experienced this. So what are these people to do?
ReplyDeleteConsidering their lack of skills other than preaching, their options are limited. Most have gotten use to the higher standard of living and simply can't bring themselves to start over.
I know that many members did start over (I am one of them), and it was painful to go through the process of going back to school (college)and learning a new skill. Many, like myself, went from well paying occupations to a subsistence life style where money was hard to come by, especially if one was tithing. My family and I went without new clothes, cars, proper food diet, etc., etc. where as the ministers never had to walk that route.
So most of the ministers joined groups that could continue to pay them at or near the same level that they had in WCG. A few of them decided to be the boss so they started their own church organizations and then started fishing for members. Since it was easier to fish members from other groups than to fish for newbies, they all had to create a story that would draw them in.
Therefore the better story that they had, the faster they gained the tithe payers who will give them the physical life style that they graved.
We are to judge by fruits.
ReplyDeleteThe fruit of the WWCG offspring is rotten and corrupt.
What a legacy.
Ron Weinland wrote: "...It is our commission and one that God and Christ will fulfill through us that will lead up to Christ’s literal return, and finally, the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth..."
ReplyDeleteWell, Ron, where is Christ going to be, because it appears that the real Kingdom of God won't be established on earth until sometime AFTER Satan is loosed from that bottomless pit?
We know that Jesus Christ today is not on earth, but elsewhere, and is very busy preparing "a place," whatever that is, for His followers and it has nothing to do with positions/offices for SELF:
John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
And at some point in the future Jesus Christ will receive His followers to Himself, but they follow Him elsewhere. Even the following verses show that His followers, His Firstfruits, when they are with Jesus Christ, aren't on earth.
Rev 14: And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.
2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits (FFs) unto God and to the Lamb.
While the FFs are there, the 7 Vials haven't even been poured out yet!
Rev 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
Ron, isn't it true that Jesus Christ does not return to earth until all of His enemies have been subdued? And death is an enemy, is it not? And Satan is an enemy, is it not? And Satan isn't loosed from the bottomless pit until AFTER a 1000 years; is that not true?
So, Ron, how is it that you can write and tell us about some "Mickey Mouse millennium" where: "... the end-time that would lead up to the return of Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of God that will reign over all mankind for 1,100 years..."???????????????????????
You continue to confirm yourSELF as a false "prophet." We really don't need another book full of lies...
John
Dennis,
ReplyDeleteA nice short description of delusions of grandeur, there!
I've seen various examples within those once associated with Worldwide-
Quick example #1: A person who got kicked around while growing up in the WCG. Had deep psychological injury, and many years later still stuck and not able to mature past puberty. Unable to move past the interests and fantasies of his adolescent boyhood. Clings to his resentments of his parents and the WCG, and is full of hate and blaming. In sync with his adolescent fantasies of power (developed in response to his harsh upbringing) and now inhabiting an adult's body, he's become somewhat of a bully, and now even believes he has a personal relationship with the real God -(not that bad God Herbie preached!)- a God more like an anthropomorphized amalgm of avenging heroes in Charles Bronson and Clint Eastwood movies(the kinds adolescent boys like), and now alters his life's normal events in his mind to confirm he has supernaturally-derived mental abilities and blessings. The irony is that he's hardly strayed from HWA's teachings in doing so!
"Quick example #1", in general, covers a variety of ex-WCG people in a variety of ways. I think most of can think of several examples we've met of this general type.
Quick example #2: Ministers now in splinters who cling to and preach HWA's nonsense (or a slight variation thereof), and actually still believe it now.
IMO, Bob Thiel is in this category, and so is Spanky. Pity they had a parting of ways: Obviously, The LCG needs a double-dose of something, lol!
But, regarding most splinter-ministers, I prefer to defer my guess as to who among them really believe what they preach.
Quick example #3: Con-men. This would include Ron Weinland, his wife, and his son and daughter.
BTW, did you ever hear of the "ZZZZ Best" carpet guy? (Reading about Ron Weinland reminded me of him.) Again, another con-man. He's Barry Minkow, a criminal - went to jail for stealing millions- claimed to have found Jesus in prison- was released and then became a pastor who then stole millions from the church. He's nothing but another slick lying salesman, and thankfully, he's back in prison again.
As a wise person once said, "Boy, that phony schmaltz of yours sure is powerful stuff."
That said, my hope is that people will become more resistant to slick lying salesmen.
Maybe I shouldn't say, "lying salesmen", because sales trainings typically teach the salesmen to believe in their own lies and delusions of grandeur- just like ministerial trainings do- bringing this full circle, here.
Thanks, Dennis!
I went on a walk in the woods this morning and I met Peter Pan from the Geico Commercial, who descended from the clouds through a sun ray.
ReplyDelete. He told me that I am THE VIRGIN MARY.
I AM THE VIRGIN MARY!
I AM, no really , I AM !
I AM THE VIRGIN MARY, I AM THE VIRGIN MARY, I AM THE VIRGIN MARY!
I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AMI AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AMI AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AMI AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AMI AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM , I AM
ReplyDelete“Weinland is right up there next to Dave Pack in prophetic failures.”
Both of these characters are fantastic fibbers.
Ronald the Clown is a false Apostle, false Prophet, and false Witness.
David the Prick is a false Apostle, false Joshua the High Priest, and false Elijah the Prophet.
Both of these thieves are currently working on more false prophecies to scam people.
Connie, better check your uterus. Last I heard, there was only one baby per Virgin Mary, but maybe you got a double-dose!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Connie, Flo from the Progessive commercial just called Barney from the Andy Griffith Show, and he'll be calling Waneeta at the diner to tell her he is the "I AM"
ReplyDeleteComedy ensues, when Goober misspells "I AM"- and Opey, Floyd, Aunt Bea, and Mayor Stoner end up unwittingly recruiting people into Scientology (in Mount Pilot) as a result, and then after Barney gets confused reading the menu at the diner, he kills L Ron Hubbard with his bullet!
Wanted:
ReplyDeleteA skilled Photoshop user to select a stunning image of the Transfiguration, replace the faces of Moses and Elijah with Mr Armstrong and Dave Pack, respectively. Replace the face of Jesus with Ron complete with propeller hat and paste the image on the cover of Pack’s Real Truth(TM) magazine with the subtitle ’21st Century Transfiguration’.
Ronco
The prison should be called and the one who calls must insist that Ron be examined as to his mental fitness for release into the public. If found deficient, Ron needs to enter a mental health program as part of his parole.
ReplyDeleteI for one am concerned that this individual may pose a danger to the general public.
James, call them if you think you should!
ReplyDeleteProblem is, that even those who are the dregs and "assholes of Christianity" (like the Promise Keepers) still have support among the kooks they give money to.

Hi SB. No need to consider it. I live it with a mere $700 a month SS from my last 15 years of my therapeutic massage practice. I am SO glad I never wanted to keep sliver jumping. I was done and did start over from nothing. Went to massage school for a year, paid for out of my "severance" and never looked back as a minister. Minister is over. I managed as well to move to Portland, Oregon and picked a very high end community of educated and well off folk along the Willamette to establish a practice in. I have 6-7 clients a day, 5 days a week and it is like going to the gym slowly all day every day. My fatigue is physical, not emotional from crazy WCG drama. Funny I live just blocks from HWA did his "6 months of intense study". I did more than that and here I am! :)
I know little or nothing of my former peers. A few have their own churches still and every time I get in touch, they don't reply or say they will and never do.
I am not taking SS at this time to boot it up as long as I can work and think straight. I live simply in a rented room in a 100 year old home near the Willamette and it's all good. Simple works for me. Oregon is my last great adventure I expect and will call it home from now on. It is beautiful and I get to see, on clear days, Mt Hood and St Helen's every day on the way to work. Can't ask for more...
The good news, Dennis, is that most people gain $100 per month in SS benefits for every year that they work beyond retirement. There are also many ways that creative people can supplement their incomes without the tax man taking a chunk, and without causing a decrease in SS benefits. If my own little show took a dump and folded up today, I could buy, repair, and resell cars and trucks or motorcycles to make extra money. That's what I did years ago to be able to live comfortably while paying child support. I also did freelance security and bodyguard work. People make extra money from their hobbies, and doing various things at swap meets. There is a whole underground economy happening out there. There is also old hippie stuff, like bartering, communal living, and getting food from food banks. But, as you noted, one needs to be thinking straight. You have to know how to get around the monetary equation.
ReplyDeleteAlso, to respond to our "quick example giver", blogs and forums give very little information about the totality of each of our individual existences, and our impacts on the community surrounding us. There was a lady who got roundly mocked and stereotyped on our dissident forums who, to read Yelp reviews, is actually just outstanding in the real estate field in her community. There are testimonials regarding her going way beyond the call of duty, and using her professionalism to the great advantage of her clients. Being trust worthy above all others. People mocked her (unfortunately, I am amongst the guilty) because of her beliefs without realizing and recognizing who and what she is in her professional life. This has to do with our individual filters, our defensive "walls", and what we would choose to think and do in the aftermath of Armstrongism.
Basically (getting adolescent here), as John Lennon used to sing, "Whatever gets you through the night is alright, alright!"
BB
Hi Bob,
ReplyDeleteThanks! I get by ok and earn every penny the good old fashion way. I work and earn it. I am content for the most part and accept that I'll never be the geologist/paleontologist that lies within me as more than hobby. I probably make more now than they do anyhow ..lol. You have to rise very high in the sciences to make it well. I was that kid that roamed the museums and sat under the stars in winter wondering about a thousand things. But then I got bit by the Four Hosemen of the Puckerlips and Just What Do You Mean....? and it was all downhill from there..lol
You know, Dennis, most people don't realize what the price tag is for freedom. There is a lot of stuff that must be shed or given up, but in the end it is worthwhile. I know you are familiar with the cost, and so am I. So do the broad majority of scientists, artists, and creative individuals. As luck would have it, I actually did end up doing pretty much what I had envisioned as my career, after suffering my "Oh, crap!" moment circa 1975. It was a hard road to travel, and still has some bumps, but better in every measurable and emotional way as compared to the old WCG days.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are doing well, and living the dream!
BB
I wish we could enjoy a famine of the word of Dennis. He misled me years ago and I’m hurt to see he is still a sucker for every strange doctrine he comes across.
