Rod Meredith writes:
Dear brethren, let us fervently pray for one another! Let us do everything we can to forgive each other, to help each other and to build the attitude of love and unity, of which we have experienced so much recently. Thank God for the wonderful weekend we enjoyed! But, let us also realize that in the months and years just ahead, Satan will do everything he possibly can to destroy that attitude of love and unity. He will come after us with clever arguments and demonic capacity so that we will need God’s direct power to overcome. So we can overcome. And with God’s help, we will overcome!
That is why—as I have said—we must be willing to fight. We must recognize that we are not just “nice people,” but that we are also “Christian soldiers.” We must ask God for the Spirit, the faith and the courage of the Apostle Paul who wrote at the very end of one of the most traumatic event-filled lives in the history of Christianity: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing” (2 Timothy 4:7–8).
Meredith wrote this before it became knowledge that the Living Church of God, he and Rod McNair were being sued. He knew that the church was already in the midst of a lawsuit and yet hid it from the members and ministry by claiming that Satan was out to destroy the "love" that LCG was built upon. Of course the instrument for this persecution was Satan, though no mention was made how it was he, Rod Meredith, that was to be the cause of this attack.
Living Church of God is not filled with love due to the decades of abusive leadership of Meredith. That so-called "love" that Meredith has is what ripped the lives of the Scarboroughs apart and contributed to the mental break down of Terry Ratzmann.
This attack is NOT the responsibility of Living Church of God members. It is not their job to fight it or to contribute money through tithes to fight it. This is Rod Meredith's personal fight and he needs to accept full responsibility. Though we all know he is incapable of humility, introspection, soul searching, and deep repentance.
RCM did not believe in the power of the LCG members praying about this situation as soon as the lawsuit was filed. He had no faith that being open with the church and taking the matter to God in unity would be of any value.
ReplyDeleteInstead, he launched his old standby sham of Satan attacking and demanded more money from the people.
RCM chose deception over prayer. RCM chose fraud over transparency.
RCM's plot is not of God – neither is RCM.
This is one color and texture of paint on the Armstrong palette that these guys occasionally use in their attempts at control. It makes them sound "spiritual" rather than like the businessmen they are.

It is written, you cannot serve two masters. Either you will love one and hate the other.
ReplyDeleteTherefore, you cannot love God and lcg, you either love and follow God or you follow rod and his group.
There is no other way around it.
So what is your choice?

I'm going to stick my neck out a bit here , and this is just my opinion and experience with RCM personally etc. I think the man is sincere in his beliefs and views no matter how narrow, austere, harsh, ignorant and naive they actually are. Decades ago he became a Bible reader taking it out of context, misunderstanding it, misapplying it, taking it literally and reading it like one would read a newspaper as if it reflected prophecy for our time 3-5 and all. His classes were not teaching the Gospels, their origins and problems but mere rolling and shallow commentary and sermons as it popped into his head on what they said.
ReplyDeleteRCM, as most all COG minsters including Flurry, Pack , Thiel and others who deem themselves somewhat and "pillars of truth" are not well trained or updated on the finding of science done well. None of these men are properly trained in the background, origins, politic, theology , historical problems and contradictions and authorship of the Bible. They simply read it and run with it. I will say what I have always said and that being it is the Bible itself that is the problem. It will give any man all the ammunition it needs to be the kind of ministers and organizations we see in Pack, Flurry, Weinland , Thiel, RCM and all others lesser though they be. Dave Pack is touted as being so intelligent. He is not, in my view. He is clever but his scientific arguments for this an that, his penchant for titles and ultimately seeing himself spoken of by the prophets is ludicrous, ignorant, mistaken and higly dangerous to the health of his more naive followers. Dr Doug Winnail should know better with his education in biology etc , and may, but you can't tell it.
I also believe most of these leader types have severe personality and mental health issues that can more easily be taken as obedience to the Bible, God and Jesus. A man can hide a mental illness in a church setting much easier than in a business setting. Maybe not so much in a political speech :)
All these men make huge mistakes in judgment and application of scripture. Scripture makes huge mistakes in reality. They also are just men. Nothing more, nothing special. Neither a Witness, Joshua, Witness, Apostle or Double Portioned. Just men stuck in the memes of scriptures which give them all the permission they need to treat people as they do to protect their truth and flocks. They display a foolish and dangerous naivete and ignorance all too often..
I don't think they are in it as businessmen. They may come across that way but down deep I believe they believe their own delusions and have created a theological world of illusions that fit them.
After 15 years of study that I denied myself when stuck in the organization, sincere as I was myself, the Bible itself is the problem and will create more such men and ministries as long as it is not understood as the human construct it is.
What ever happened to the Scripturally based idea that God fights battles for us?
ReplyDeleteHe mentions forgive one another, help one another. This means a two way street, but it's not. In practise it's a one way street with the little people doing all the forgiving and helping, whilst the big people doing all the being forgiven and being helped, served etc. This is the voice of experience. Notice they never affirm that it's a two way street, or how to respond once you discern that it's all one way. Even within the church, there is an inner and outer face. The 'one another' thingy is the lying other face.

They went down the drain after years of experience in losing
Rod and Satan are gay.
ReplyDeleteIt's so much easier to say Satan is attacking you because you are so awesome and doing such a great job than it is to accept personal responsibility for your own wrong and wholly unchristian actions.
ReplyDelete"Dr Doug Winnail should know better with his education in biology etc , and may, but you can't tell it."
ReplyDeleteThe educational system is not much better than the church. There is a lot of dogma there too. HWA was right when he said they pour information into your head like through a funnel. But then he turned around and did the same thing. It's all about memory learning. For all the talk about learning to think, dissident ideas are not tolerated much anywhere.
RCM doesn't have a forgiving bone in his body and LCG is the most loveless church in the history of time.
ReplyDelete"Dave Pack is touted as being so intelligent. He is not, ..."
ReplyDeleteWell, he seems smarter than the rest of the leaders but he is probably the most tyrannical, even more so than Rod. And he writes volumes of stuff. I think he must have started writing his booklets years before he stuck out on his own. Like HWA who started planning his own great work and writing up his ideas in article format before he had a magazine to publish them in, Pack was a legend in his own mind probably a long time before he started a church and probably had prepared so he could hit the ground running.
As one who shared a study room at AC back in the day with ol' Davey, I can confirm he's always been a legend in his own mind.
DeleteIt's been a topic beat into the ground before, but the loaded language is getting to me RCM's little blurb worse than usual. Likely as a result of some of the previous posting.
ReplyDeleteUnity is used to shut down not only dissent, but also any attempt at civil discourse or real diagnosis of issues. In other words, don't think critically even if it is constructive.
Satan's attack says we're innocent victims and have no responsibility. Therefore we do not need to humbly inquire of God where we need to change.
Keep the faith carries a ton of baggage popping at the seams with all the teachings plus loyalty to God equated to loyalty to the group.
Just to Dennis' point regarding the intelligence of the men leading these groups. I think and correct me if I'm wrong, that you are getting at that there are many types of intelligence. In saying that Pack is clever, his intelligence is in his ability to construct, even somewhat creatively in the realm of his own ego, a worldview he has the ability to bring others into. What he lacks is emotional intelligence that would enable him to go beyond the constraints of his own ego.
ReplyDeleteExactly
ReplyDeleteKnow what ACOG ministers do amongst themselves when they experience a misunderstanding with one another? Hint: there are over 700 splinter groups known to exist at this time, all teaching much the same doctrinal approach.

Matt 5:23 says, "if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. 25 Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. 26 Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny".
ReplyDeleteHow many holy days has Rod kept knowing these people desired to make peace with him?
Maybe this is another scripture (like Matt 18:15) that doesn't apply to ministry in LCG's opinion.
It's more important to RCM that others see him as he wants to be seen. That's what people like this live for. Vanity. The only feedback they need is whether you will submit and support. Any negative feedback is interpreted as disrespectful and an attack on their identity. You are responded to as if you were robbing them of their privilege and entitlement.
