BRiC Dancing in Charlotte with the Living Church of God

Living Church of God claims that they will be discussing Jesus Christ in an upcoming singles weekend.  I can almost guarantee you that Jesus Christ will only be discussed as long as everything points back to the law.  Salvation is not found in Jesus Christ alone, but in the law plus a little bit of Jesus Christ.

The singles will be taught on how to build relationships in Jesus Christ though servant leadership.  Say what??????  As usual, LCG members have to "do" something in order to have a relationship.  That "do" is keeping the selective law of LCG.  LCG does not keep the entire law but selects only those things they prefer to do.

Charlotte BRiC Weekend (an opportunity for singles)—Memorial Day Weekend—Repeat Announcement
Are you interested in insightful, spiritual discussions on Building Relationships iChrist? Do you desire to strengthen the relationships you already have with those around you? Do you also want to dance, relax, and enjoy a little fresh air? If you’re single and interested in the above, then be sure to attend this year’s BRiC Weekend, May 27–30
Our theme for this year’s BRiC Weekend is Building Relationships iChrist through a culture of servant leadership. You can register for the weekend, as well as find the details for the weekend, at charlottelcg.org/BRiC.

When though, have those fun folks in Charlotte EVER practiced "servant leadership?"  When has Rod Meredith ever stooped down to help the poor in his church or the world around him.  When has Rod Meredith or the leadership of the LCG ever lowered themselves down to the level they have placed the membership at?

Better yet LCG singles, go and volunteer for Habitat for Humanity or the local soup kitchen that weekend and you will actually be "doing" Christ-like work.   You will build relationships that actually work.

  1. Since the PCG has posted on "what to do on a date", and the LCG is having a singles weekend, then I suggest the following...

All 6 of the PCG singles who are under the age of 28, and all 4 of the LCG singles who are under the age of 28, should just merge and have a combined weekend!

  3. Just don't do the limbo! Rod McNair feels the limbo is inappropriate and sexually provocative. I was once at an LCG dance where Rod had the limbo turned off in the middle of the song because he deemed it inappropriate. Perhaps the teen girls bending backwards exposing their, um... midsections was too titillating for Rod's repressed lust.

    FWIW
I guess the reason why not, the same that would apply to all the COG's "leadership", is that they entirely overlook (totally ignore) these scriptures:-

"Mat 20:25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
    Mat 20:26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
Mat 20:27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
Mat 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."
    and
"Mat 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master [Mister], even Christ; and all ye are brethren."
    and
"Luk 22:25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
Luk 22:26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
Luk 22:27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat [listens to their sermons], or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth."

  5. Ah, but there is someone in Atlanta that these folks could learn so much more from! If the people who were invited to this event did as HWA did for his baptism, and consulted one of the Baptists, the mission statement for this LCG event might have a ghost of a chance of being fulfilled.

  6. 7.08 in Matthew 20.25, the Greek word for 'authority' means the possession and exercise of power. That is, this is legitimate government power.
Since Christ said it shall NOT BE SO among you, ministers and church leaders DO NOT have the power of federal, state or local government. Their 'power' should be little different to Dr Phil counselling a client. That is, Dr Phil doesn't run his clients life. On this point, the bible says 'examine yourself,' a personal responsibility. Hence, ministers have no right to a 'what others (ie ganging up on people) don't like about you' 'counselling' session. Some church members have experienced this. This is ministers trying to 'remove the speck from peoples eye,' condemned in the bible. This is also the ministers playing psychiatrist or psychologist without a license. Consider the legal problem Dr Phil encountered when he counselled someone over the phone, in the recipients state where his license had expired. If ministers want to play psychiatrist (common, with some religious window dressing thrown in), let them do a 8 year course, which includes a medical degree, then open up a business and have clients COME to them voluntary. Unlike ministers who force themselves on church members.
Ministers only legitimate power is the inherent power in serving, such as a music instrument teacher, a dance teacher or hair dresser asking the customer to move their head.

  7. Ah, SINGLES WEEKEND!

That blessed time for those of us who, somehow, never managed yet to find a fellow Armstrong slave who'll come live with us so we can think about sex without guilt, and actually have some. That was the only goal of some of them. If like the weekend advertised here, there was a higher "spiritual" theme and attendees aren't supposed to think about that other thing. Yeah, right.

SINGLE was a LABEL, a Scarlet Letter -- something out there before everyone that put you in a lower caste in the "church." Not having that stigma anymore, as imposed on you by "ministers" who had arranged marriages as part of what they got at college, was something you should strive, strive, strive to get to. No matter what the false ministers said, that was your task.

    Say NO THANK YOU, people!

  8. Obviously, some people might totally miss the point and shotgun Bible scriptures at us in response to this post.

Hey! Looks like someone already did!

  9. I'm not impressed with churches, but in our city, there is a mission that distributes weekly food boxes to people on limited incomes who really need that kind of help and a large denominational church that does the same. That is a lifeboat to a lot of people who would be very limited in what they could eat without that service. It's good stuff too, even including fresh fruits and vegetables and things like pizza and meats. Those people are doing what can be described as christlike services and caring. Quite a difference from what I saw in Worldwide and now in the spinters.

  10. Hold on there, 7:25. We have been informed that god's way is the way of trade. Those groups that gave all that food away without receiving or even expecting a return on their investment were hiding trade, a foolish and sinful act. Probably a bunch of liberals.

  11. I have a slightly different philosophy that goes like this "If you perform a beneficial act or service for someone else, with or without expectation of reward, sooner or later, one way or another, you'll be paid (rewarded) for it." Maybe that's in line with 'Trading Guy'

As is my wont I'll support that with scripture:- "Ecc 11:1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days."
    as well as
"Isa 58:7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?"

  12. Retired Prof
People always get rewarded when they give to charity. Many verses show this. eg

Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

Luke 18:22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

Notice 'treasure in heaven.' In case you haven;t noticed, every law in nature has a equal sign (trade). From Keplers laws of planetary motion, to sub atomic particle equations. And not forgetting 'you were bought with a price.' It's metaphorically more powerful than God Himself.

  13. Also note how God the Master Trader, paid King Nebuchadrezzar for services rendered.

Ezekiel 29:19 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall take her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army.
Ezekiel 29:20 I have given him the land of Egypt for his labour wherewith he served against it, because they wrought for me, saith the Lord GOD.

  14. Okay, this is trade? So what did the Egyptian multitude get in trade for becoming subjects of Nebuchadrezzar and having their property taken away to pay his soldiers' wages? Looks to me like god just plain stole that stuff from Egyptians and turned it over to Babylonians.
