Herbert Armstrong's Tangled Web of Corrupt Leaders

What Was Living Church of God Thinking Letting Mario Hernandez Preach????

Above is a video of Mario Hernandez giving a "sermon" on a "Love Story in Seven Chapters."  You will be lucky to make it through the first 5 minutes without turning it off.  The self-righteous, condescending,  pompous-ass attitude that he had while in Pasadena is now even more fine tuned.  I cannot truly imagine sitting through an hour sermon listening to this man.  I would sit an listen to Dave Pack or Rod Meredith for an hour before I would this man.  Truly pathetic!

The entire focus of his sermon is on Hebrew holy days and NOT on Jesus Christ.  Christians know the story of  Jesus Christ as the real ultimate love story.  That is the story behind the resurrection, justification and grace.  Unconditional love and acceptance without the law, not some group of days meant for an agrarian society coming to terms with their identity as a people.  Days that were to set them apart from the pagan followers around them.

Berean Literal Bible...who also has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 2 Corinthians 3:6

Why is it that none of these false teachers  can ever start a sermon or write an article praising Jesus Christ but always have to start off by praising Herbert Armstrong?  Jesus be damned, because Herbert's the man.

  1. I didn't make to the 5 minute mark. Two minutes was all I could take. As was said nothing about Jesus, just adoration for Herbert. Makes me gag

  2. At 4:04 he speaks of the Sabbaths . . . . . Who was God speaking to? Not the church, which didn't come into existence until after the resurrection of Jesus. He is speaking to the Israelites. He has no justification to impose what was given to one group of people onto the entire world.

  3. Ugh, that is the worst preaching I have ever heard. Where did LCG get this joker from? I didn't even make through three minutes before I had to turn it off.

  4. When I was in the LCG I found this man to be disgusting and refused to sit an listen to any of his sermons. You are so right in his being condescending and self-righteous. He thought he was the most intelligent bible scholar the church had ever had. He treats people like little children. He talks down to adults like they are too stupid to understand his preaching.

  5. I remember this smug prick when he was in Pasadena. Couldn't stand him then and sure as hell won't listen to him now!

  6. The first 5 seconds I thought he was Bela Lugosi. Except Bela wasn't part of a blood sucking cult.

  7. This man is no teacher (like a minister should be). He stands up there, and is almost shouting at the audience. I made it to almost 5 minutes, and turned it off. One of the worst I have ever heard in almost 40 years of the COG. No wonder LCG is having so many problems. This guy isn't there answer.

  8. I have taken my family and walked out of every service when he was scheduled to speak. The man is an idiot and does not deserve to be preaching, let alone be a minister.

  9. The only thing we could say is that he's a better speaker than Bob Thiel.

Most Armstrongite ministers are simply parrots, of varying capabilities. Effective speakers draw from a wealth of experience, and present with natural enthusiasm. Those ingredients are usually going to be missing in people who are chosen for their loyalty to a philosophy rather than talent and character.

  10. He has ticked off more in the Spanish work than any COG minister ever has. He is intensely disliked. If those of you that speak English think he is pompous, you should see him preaching in Spanish!

  11. The ministers and sheep do not know the first commandment THAT YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME.
They knowingly put hwa, Meredith and so called ministers up there as gods. I haven't listened to Meredith in years, all he talks about is hwa, how he knew him etc. This is why when I get a dvd from Meredith, it goes in the garbage.
Sad but true and those ministers are hirelings only looking out for themselves.
    Please just feed the sheep.
Does anyone remember one lecture on the 10 commandments?

  12. Just out of curiosity, I was wondering why the name of Jesus has a mark crossed through it in this article? Not trying to cause an argument, just curious for an answer. Thanks

  13. Strange imagination thought came to me right now. Picturing sitting at Boston Fenway Park, when the announcer blares over the speakers the next batter up...

"Now Batting For Your Boston Redsox... MAR-EEEE-OOOH HER- NAAN-DEZ , Shortstop"

  14. Anon 7:06 The reason is that Church of God ministers think it is too Protestant and syrupy to say Jesus. They cannot say his Jesus without adding Christ to it and 99% of the time will only use Christ. Jesus makes COG ministers uncomfortable.

  15. Why praise a dead Herbie indeed, unless these same ministers are planning like Israel in the book of 1Samuel, to demand that God give them a king to rule over them. This kings name? Why HWA of course.

  16. 8.49 AM of course Jesus makes ministers uncomfortable. They know He will throw them into the lake of fire.

Ahhhh.....that makes sense now. I used to attend LCG a couple of years ago and come to think about it, you're right.

  18. Mario is also a very BIG reason the French//European LCG brethren are so very unhappy. He has continued to rise in power in LCG because he has just the kind of over-bearing, over-dominant authority RCM admires in a man. That, plus, Mario is the quintessential "yes" man

  19. Mario must be shaking in fear over the upcoming depositions in the Scarborough lawsuit. Every Charlotte member who gets supenaed will be asked, "Have you ever known RCM to lie?" This will be a test before God, since nearly everyone who has spent time with RCM can think of a few times they know he has lied. What will happen to LCG when Mario says, "RCM doesn't lie" but others say "Mario was there when RCM told these lies..."? Will LCG members forfeit their salvation by lying to the court about RCM? Or will they tell the truth and face retribution by RCM? One way or another, the only people left in LCG Charlotte will be the ones who are willing to lie for RCM.

  20. Before 2010, Hernandez directed the Latin American ministry and free-lanced at the LCG congregations in southern California (mostly San Diego), where he was quite popular. Hernandez also holds some beliefs that are contrary to official LCG doctrine. Seeing this, Meredith was threatened, so he transferred him to Charlotte. Anyone who has any level of success in the field is moved to Charlotte so Meredith can control them. Never mind that they now fill their days with meetings, bureaucracy and politics. Never mind that they don't serve the people anymore. Never mind that they almost never speak anymore. Everything must be centered in Charlotte. Meredith would rather neuter a pastor by giving him an administrative job in Charlotte, than empower a pastor in his field pastorate.

  21. Everything that he said in his sermon was and has been heard in the cogs at least hundreds of times. This only goes to show that LCG is a dead/dying church. I have surmised that LCG is the church that Yahshua meant when He spoke in revelation that they had a name that they were alive, but in fact, they are dead.

(Rev 3:1) And to the messenger of the congregation in Sardis, write: These things says the One having the seven spirits of Elohim, and the seven stars: I know your works, that you have the name that you live, and are dead.

Rod recently gave a sermon in which he read this verse and the meaning just flew over his head.

  22. 6:01 are they sending subpoenas to LCG Charlotte members?

  23. @6:40 you are exactly right

Bob League and Rod McNair were causing huge unrest in the areas they pastored so RCM transferred them to headquarters so he could keep an eye on them. Only, instead of reigning them in, he fanned the flames of their abusive behaviors because they were so good at kissing the ring of the pope which RCM loves more than anything else (except money, RCM loves money the most).

  24. Watching what's happening in LCG has been like watching a soap opera. Except more entertaining.

That which you reap, so shall you sew.

It seems our friend Karma is finally paying a visit to the bullies in LCG.

Lying, dishonest scales and abuse of God's little ones will most certainly not go without punishment.

  25. I was able to listen for slightly over 1 minute.
There's 20 seconds before 'Super Mario' starts speaking.
By 1:10, he has thanked God for Herbert Armstrong.
That means that it only took him 50 seconds to get around to thanking God for Herbert Armstrong!

I half expected a hyperactive 'little person' to run up next to Mario, point toward the sky and yell, "DA PLANE", DA PLANE!", with Mario patting him on the head and answering, "That's right, Tattoo! God has turned the egrets into jumbo jets to fly us to the Place of Safety! God loves quality, so the seats on those jets are made of the finest Corinthian leather!"

HQ in Charlotte is truly an island of fantasy.
