James Malm loves to picture himself as the most enlightened converted man to ever grace the Church of God. Bob Thiel is a theological simpleton compared to Malm. He knows more than Herbert Armstrong, Rod Meredith, Dave Pack, Gerald Flurry and Vic Kubik combined. His interpretations of the Bible and prophecy is the only correct version that is possible.
James Malm is a professional Judaizer who bastardizes the law to fit his own perverted interpretations. Like Meredith, Pack and Flurry, Malm spits upon everything Jesus taught or did. The law always trumps.
It just irritates the hell of Malm that so many people understand they are no longer bound to a bunch of rules that we set up specifically for a tribe of people centuries ago in order to separate them from the nations around them. It irritates the hell out of Malm that those who understand the new covenant are free from the law. Its more important to him to be found doing something than to understand that it has already been done.
Its more important for him to promote a pissed off angry god that is just itching to fry 2/3's of humanity than it is to show love. Love has no place in the law of Malm. The law does not produce love, nor does it produce faith.
Paul says, “If by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace” (Romans 11:6). Praise the Lord, “Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1).
From the comments:
James Malm is just another rebel who did not pay attention in the WCG. James left the WCG in 1985 while HWA was still alive to try to think for himself. His wife got into that sacred names nonsense and divorced him for not going along with it too. James got into calendar confusion. Garbling the gospel probably brought yet another curse on him. James wants to mangle everything that HWA had taught, and then think that he himself must be someone great for messing up everything.
The most disconcerting thing with Malm is how ability to brainwash his acolytes into believing every single piece of filth that the teaches. Just like vile Gerald Flurry and Dave Pack, Malm is brainwashing his followers to cut off all contact with family members. How sick is that?
Some other goofy little rebels who like to defend James Malm and his heresies do not necessarily want to go and actually submit to him in his group. They just like to do their little part to promote rebellion and heresy by claiming that one can learn the odd thing from James (emphasis on odd), but no way will they really trust him enough to actually go with the troublemaker. It seems like they want to do their own little part to help James cause confusion, division, and trouble without actually letting him cause too much trouble for themselves personally.
"Constance" (or whatever she is calling herself these days) is my mother. This along with provocations by Malm to head to Petra to prove that one is a true believer are so disconcerting. These cults are dangerous--not only for the potential Jim Jones ending or the destruction they create in families and personal finances. They create mental illness through emotional dis-regulation. After a number of years, it's like a shell of a person that repeats indoctrination a with no one home. This makes me sad and hopeless feeling.Malm is just as big a fraud as Bob Thiel is. Both of these men have self-appointed themselves to the "positions" they think they have. Both Malm and Thiel believe they are one of the two witnesses, are apostles, and are the end-time revealers of essential knowledge that God is revealing through them.
Both are liars that have never learned anything from all the previous liars they follow in the Church of God.

What law, would you please explain exactly what you mean by that statement?

Malm is dangerous. He has the potential to lead some of the more mentally disturbed members into dangerous activities. There is far more to this man than most people think. I would also be wary of this "Constance" woman. There is something seriously wrong with her.
ReplyDelete"Malm" and "Ralph", in so many instances, are peas in a pod.
ReplyDeleteThey imagine themselves to be the Jolly Green Giants of Armstrongism, with 'ULTRA Truthy Birdseye' takes on their 'Flash Frozen' views of Armstrongism.
Combined, they almost make as much sense as a leaky bag of frozen peas!
How can associating with non-believers put your salvation in jeopardy? If what you believe is the bedrock solid truth then can anything separate you from God? What the leadership is really worried about is there precious little money machine crumbling beneath them! If their little empire is not of God it will crumble. They know it and that is why they have this no contact with non-believers doctrine. To prevent people from finding out the truth.

More than one can imagine evidently
MSN has a travel section, and as luck would have it, they recently had a feature on top tourist destinations. One of them happened to be Petra, which is now enduring a host of threats, including collapse of the ancient structures, erosion, improper restoration, and a dramatic uptick in tourism. Clearly, this is no longer a secret place, known only to insiders in an apocalyptic religious cult.
ReplyDeleteFleeing to Petra is simply one more of the cherished "doctrines" of 1950s era WCG/HWA, which was time-related, and is no longer viable. One would think that a self-styled rebel outlaw, who is correcting the teachings of a false teacher would have this "doctrine" at the top of his correction list.
Also, has anyone been reading the news lately? Germany, along with other European nations, have had a very difficult time even absorbing the level of Syrians seeking refuge from the ongoing civil war. The figure to which Germany was committed was a paltry 1 million. That number is relatively insignificant, the population level of perhaps one modest city as compared to the populations of English-speaking nations around the globe. The biggest fear factor of the Armstrong gospel has not been unparalleled levels of death from war or pestilence. It has been a tribulation based on slavery, being carried off to Germany to endure concentration camps for the 3-1/2 years rhat the so-called "one true church" is in the place of safety. Based on what we witness today, even if the Germans did get a race-change operation and become Assyrian, this would simply not be viable on the large scale levels that Armstrongism has traditionally preached. Yet, they continue pointing towards isolated news incidents in Germany, as if this national enslavement were viable and imminent. History is rife with war, economic disruptions, and disease epidemics, and no doubt there could be future occurrences of such events. But, it is very unlikely that they will unfold in accordance with the HWA prophecy mold, or for the reasons cited. Europe has actually led in manifesting the conditions for which HWA forecast that the English-speaking nations would be punished.

The German beast is a laughing cow. One must swallow a lot of sour milk to match Germany with the prophecies. The warning given should, if true, coral-ate to what is currently happening. When one looks carefully, one will see that the U.S.A. is pushing against Russia at nearly every turn. The western mass media continue to lie to their fellow citizens while they amass troops and weaponry along the Russian border. The west is trying very hard to start a war. A war that they cannot win.
ReplyDeleteIn biblical terms a great sword has been given to Russia. Her weaponry now surpasses any thing the west has. While the west was busy bombing dirt, Russia was modernizing. World War III is now facing us due to the stupid people that believed the lie that Russia was down and out.
I was pleased to note that you do not call Malm "the chief Pharisee" in this post as you have in some earlier posts. This title is an insult to true Pharisees who would deny any relationship with Malm or his followers.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Wikipedia, "Josephus indicates that the Pharisees received the backing and good-will of the common people". Does this sound anything like James Malm? (The Pharisees were more complicated than most people realize and scholars claim they were given a bum rap in the NT.)
On the other hand, Wikipedia notes that the Essenes were literally anal retentive: "Purity and cleanliness was considered so important to the Essenes that they would refrain from defecation on the Sabbath." This sounds much more like James Malm and his extreme legalism.
If you feel compelled to give Malm a title, "chief Essene" might be more accurate.
"The Essenes would refrain from defecation on the Sabbath."
ReplyDeleteIs that different from "defecating on the Sabbath"?
Is it ok - or even expected - to fart loudly on the Feast of Trumpets?
A guy named Wayne Abraham told me the Nostrils of the Lord likes fart smells.
Pretty nasty stuff. You seen to hate Malm more than Meredith. If you love God you keep His commandments simples.
ReplyDeleteNo one here hates the person. It's their foolishness and expected devotion from others that is the problem. BannedHWA is the conscience and feedback they lack and need
ReplyDeleteThere isn't anything wrong with Malm that some regular visits to his local Maranatha Christian Medical Marijuana Clinic couldn't resolve. He just seriously needs to lighten up a bit, and what was called "kaneh bosm" in the original Hebrew might just be the ticket.
ReplyDeleteBB
Pretty nasty stuff coming from Malm. Malm seems to hate nearly everybody and everything.
ReplyDeleteYep. If you love god, you keep his commandments. But it's not so simples after all, because the MORE you love your god, the LESS you love, or can even tolerate, those who, in your own misguided opinion, don't love your god as much as you do. And those who love their god the MOST, have no room left in their self-righteous heart for anything but hate toward all else. I'm not aware of anyone in the COG movement that exemplifies this quite to the degree that ultra-heterodox Malm does. Pretty nasty stuff.

Quite so. Have another read of:-
"Heb 13:5 Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] [Josh. 1:5.]" (AMP)bolding mine
Malm and Constance are fools if they think they are the two witnesses. Constance has a lot of baggage just as Malm does.
ReplyDeleteTitle of this post is "The Problem With James Malm" and many valid points were made. Near the conclusion of this post it is stated: "...Both Malm and Thiel believe they are one of the two witnesses, are apostles, and are the end-time revealers of essential knowledge that God is revealing through them..."
ReplyDeleteThat being apparently true, what's the difference between Thiel and Malm? The Apostle Paul gives a hint:
"For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge." Romans 10:2
Zeal! Malm has a lot more zeal than Thiel; however it is a zeal that is "...not according to knowledge."
Besides that, can either Malm or Thiel honestly tell us that they have kept a minimum of one Sabbath day perfectly in their entire lives...just one day? One 24-hour period? All 1440 minutes?
Yet, with their form of "fear religion" they, like so many other professing xcog leaders, would have us believe that they set the proper example for us and we need to just follow them.
What either of them says gives me, us, no comfort at all; however, I do find comfort in the following two verses, which does not depend upon Thiel or Malm:
"Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began," 2 Timothy 1:9
That is very similar to something the author of the original post already quoted. And that other verse?
"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." 2 Corinthians 5:19
Which, thankfully, does not depend upon anything that flows from the mouths of either Thiel or Malm.
Time will tell...and that is with, or without, zeal from any of us.
John
P.S. Have either Thiel or Malm read and understood that God's law is against them, is contrary to them?
"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was AGAINST US, which was CONTRARY TO US, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;" Col 2:14
Why? It is because God already knew that without His help in their/our lives, sin dwells within us and we will still have to each pay the wages, which is death. Death is the last enemy, which God intends to eventually overcome for us.
Thiel and Malm....of and by ourselves we CAN'T DO WHAT YOU TELL US. In fact, you aren't even DOING IT!
Again, time will tell...
or even straight from the AKJ:-
ReplyDelete"Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Heb 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." (AKJ) bolding mine

Stephen, from where comes your theology? For I read from the AKJ:-
"1Jn_4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
1Jn_4:21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also."
For those that believe the creation account, we are all brothers, and sisters, descended from our original parents, Adam and Eve.

And for those who do not believe that creation account? It is the same thing!
the concept is very simple: only if you are Led by the Spirit of God are you not under The Law (Romans 8)...
ReplyDeletebut if you remain led by the spirit of flesh, which by default is the spirit of the devil, you are subject to The Law...
Ralph wrote:

Ralph can't tell the difference between the subject of a sentence, and the object of a verb.
That wasn't theology. "God" was not the subject of any of those sentences, religious people were, so it's psychology, not theology.
From whence, you might then ask, cometh my psychology? From a lifetime of watching religious people!
I'm not the only one who has noticed this, to wit:
"Lord, save me from your followers!" —Bumper Sticker
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." —Mahatma Gandhi
However, since discrete instances of this phenomenon are only what nearly every post ever made on this blog is taking pains to point out, I wouldn't think it at all strange if this phenomenon is something you've never noticed before. After all, reality and you don't seem to be exactly on a first-name basis with each other...
Fundementalists only wish to be held by how they choose to define themselves, NOT by how they actually behave!
