True Peace of Mind Can Only Be Found If You Support Living Church of God

Did you know that if you support Rod Meredith and his church that you will have true peace of mind?  God still apparently deals in bullet pinots to get her message across.

Key 1: Take Part in the Great Commission!
Your Bible gives a mission to every human being on earth. It should be the number-one  goal in your life. The Messiah, Jesus Christ, gives us a major key to tranquility and peace of mind: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).
The Kingdom of God is coming soon to this earth! Are you praying daily, as Jesus taught us, “Your Kingdom come”? When we see all the evils imploding upon the world around us, we yearn for the Kingdom to come. Do you have that as your mission? Notice what Jesus said in the next verse. When you seek a cause greater than yourself, you can find peace of mind. “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (v. 34).
Yes, Jesus came preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God. You can read about that in Mark 1:15–16. Do your part to support that great mission. Seek to have a cause greater than yourself!
How can anyone truly support a cause that is in such disarray as the Living Church of God is?   How can a church claim to be doing the great commission when it treats its own members with disdain?

Next true peace of mind can be found in prayer:

Key 2: Pray About Your Worries
Share your anxieties with God in prayer. Suggest solutions to your problems.
Everything about being a legalistic church is trying to do things to please its god.  This all make logical sense to them when they make the comment above. To them it is great to pray but it is also your responsibility to suggest solutions that will change the mind of God.  If you already know what needs to be done then why haven't you acted on it?

Then it is this:

Key 3: Seek Wise Counsel
The book of Proverbs contains some of the greatest and wisest counsel available to us as Christians— counsel from God Himself. God Almighty tells us: “Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am under- standing, I have strength. By me kings reign, and rulers decree justice” (Proverbs 8:14–15).
When you read the book of Acts, you find that the early New Testament Church was unified as a spiritual family. We need one another, and we need one another’s help. Seek counsel from those who have true wisdom; long-time faithful and genuine Christians who have strong biblically based character. “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise” (Proverbs 12:15).

Seek God’s counsel by reading your Bible every day, and seek out wise counsellors who have demonstrated stability and biblically based character.
This could possibly be the most dangerous thing a Living Church of God member could do!  Chances are high that you will be abused spirituality by the minister you confess to.  Chances are even higher that you will be kicked out of the church and chances are even higher that you will be mocked from the pulpit by the very minister you counseled with.  None of these men have professional training in counseling and mental health issues.  Their "wisdom" comes from  Meredith and the endless booklets and literature of the church, not from real sources and the still long held belief that demons cause mental health issues.

Like a good Church of God article it is important to talk about exercise. Because Daddy HWA talked about it, it is important for ministers to do it today.
Key 4: Do Not Neglect Physical Exercise
Hundreds, if not thousands of health reports and studies show the benefit of physical exercise as a tool for reducing stress. Years ago, I wrote in my personal book of life-lessons, “When depressed, go out and jog or run.”
The best exercise a Living Church of God member could do is to RUN as fast as they can away!

Key 5: Maintain a Positive Mind
We all experience stress in our modern, fast-paced, information-overload world. How can we cope? We must clearly understand that, to an important degree, our mental health is a matter of choice. You can choose to maintain a positive and tranquil mind.
How can a positive and tranquil mind be found in the Living Church of God?  From the terrible abuses by Rod McNair who finds demons in the elderly to Rod Meredith smearing peoples names and reputations in the pulpit?
Key 6: Count Your Blessings
One way to help maintain a positive frame of mind is to remind yourself of the many blessings God has given you. Is your life perfect? Do you have every success you have hoped for? Probably not. But if you focus instead on the many blessings you do have, you may come to see that the life you have is perfect for you right now, and that you can be grateful for the circumstances God is using to help you develop His very character in your own life.
Jesus reminded us to choose the spiritual over the material. He made it plain just how much God loves us; He can easily provide all our physical needs. But to receive this blessing, we must first seek God’s Kingdom, and then all our material needs will be provided. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things [all our physical and material needs] shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).
How can all physical and material needs be met when you are giving 30-40% of you income to leaders who have never worked an honest day in their lives?  How many of these men have ever actually had their hands dirty?  Its the same magical god that the prosperity ministries bow down to  Please it and it will give you everything you desire, piss it off and its a fast trip into the lake of fire.

Can true peace of mind ever be found in the Living Church of God?

  1. More false advertising, courtesy of his mentor, HWA. Next thing you know, he'll be claiming that it also cures halitosis.

  2. Seeking a cause "greater than yourself" is not biblical. Note that no biblical reference is given. Our relationship to any cause, is a trading relationship. It's thete, in the parable if the talents. It is not slavery to a cause, as Rod teaches. He wants members to toil in the plantation of some higher cause, whilst he is the plantation master, whipping the slaves.
Notice how Rod hides that in the bible, servants get paid. Instead, all you get is the non stop. S-E-R-V-E bull (code word for slavery).

  3. You are so right in advising members not to get 'counselling' from ministers. For them it's an opportunity to play 'psychiatrist.' Never mind that in the real world, this is a 8 year course, which includes a 3 year medical degree. Plus a license to practice. I doubt most ministers have read more than a few self help books, but they will happily play Ziggy Freud.
Going to a minister for advice, only results in ministers meddling and lording it over members lives. The purpose of this lording, is to create a Disneyland for the tares in the church. A paradise for crooks.

  4. When their ministers say "mention Rod Meredith's name 3 times in your
    Sermonette.."

    consider Acts 5:38

"And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone:
for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought..."

  5. Peace of mind was not something I achieved until I was able to be apart from and done with WCG and all the yearly drama it provided me personally in the ministry. While I spent years believing "it will get better" it only got worse. My denial and naive faith postponed my personal freedom and the pursuit of topics outside the church box that were actually The Plain Truth.

There is no peace of mind in the one man or family run religious empire, whether it be large or only large in the mind of the small minded leaders.

  7. The way to have peace of mind is to avoid those who have 'noisy' brains.

Certainly, with Roderick Meredith being an all out liar, narcissist and false prophet, avoiding him at all costs would be a top priority for those wanting to have any peace at all. All the hyperbole of the world going to hell in a handbasket and the LCG putting such a high price on handbaskets does nothing to quiet the chaotic dysfunction of distorted perception.

Meredith claims he has not committed any major sin since baptism. He's majorly confused and delusional. Listing to him is really bad for your mental health.

What's worse, Living University has a course on British Israelism! That's just wrong.

Remember that Revelation says that liars shall not inherit the Kingdom of God, so's if there's any accuracy to the Bible at all, it's likely that Roderick Meredith is going to be thrown into the Lake of Fire.

The trick is not to be thrown in there with him.

    Well, what can we say?

    It's a cult after all.4

  8. One of the courses I studied at Ambassador College was etymology. Oddly enough, this course was taught by Dibar Apartian. But, the course taught one to take apart words, to look amongst the syllables for meanings of the words. I always wondered about the significance of the root "rod" present in both Roderick and rodent.

  9. It's embarrassing o admit that I agree with Meredith on anything, but point 4, about the importance of exercise, is good.

I say this even though the morning exercise we were forced to do at Ambassador College was a real sore point with me. It takes me a long time to get awake in the morning, sort of ease up into full consciousness. So the calisthenics and the running of laps gave a daily shock to my system. Besides that, it was unnecessary for me. At different times I worked on the gardening and the construction crews--the kind of work I had requested. That activity amounted to plenty of exercise and satisfied my need to accomplish something outside the dead-end activity itself. I never could force myself to do something just because it was good for me.

If you share this character defect, and want beneficial exercise in spite of it, take up a physical sport or hobby. What I do is paddle a canoe around and cast lures into the water for fish; stumble for miles across brushy, irregular terrain carrying a firearm for birds or deer; chop at the ground in my garden with a hoe and throw pitchforkfuls of mulch around; cut down trees with a chain saw and turn them into firewood with the saw and a splitting maul. Those things all yield a satisfying extrinsic ROI and make my body feel intrinsically invigorated as well.

If my activities sound perverse or miserable to you, pick something else, something you like to do. And don't let your desk duties get in the way of it.

  10. BB, your speculation about "Roderick" being cognate with "rodent" is fun, like anything that allows us to snicker at Meredith.

However, I've got to burst the bubble. The syllable spelled *rod-* comes from entirely different roots in *Roderick* and *rodent.* The first comes from Old English *hrod*, meaning "fame" or "glory." The *rick* part of the name is the English version of the same word that gives modern German *reich,* meaning "rulership, kingdom." Rod could claim his name was divinely ordained to point to the Glorious Kingdom to come.

The *rod-* of "rodent" is one syllable in a word adapted in the 1830's from the New Latin term to designate the order of gnawing animals: *Rodentia*, based on the present participle of the verb *rodere,* "to gnaw, eat away."

We have to remember, naturally, that we can't determine the current meaning of a word by examining its origins, no matter how fascinating the process of meaning change might be. (And I was fascinated enough to spend a significant fraction of my professional life studying and teaching it.) So neither Rod's followers nor his detractors can get credible mileage out of associating either of the two roots with the guy's name. Doesn't mean people of both types shouldn't have fun with the idea, though, as long as everybody realizes that one is as much of a joke as the other.

  11. Rods 'we needs one anothers help' is flawed. At first glance this seems reasonable, but it is not. In fact, this is taught my many Christian denominations. They steal dirty ploys from one another. According to a secular article on this one point, the problem is the incessant repetition. This conveys the message that people are incompetent, childlike, lacking in responsibility, incapable of standing on their feet, and need daddys in their life. This message is murder. Compare this to Gods message to Joshua of 'be strong, brave and courageous.' These are two very different messages. One tears down, the other builds up.

  12. BB, given the tortured etymologies used by WCG (Saxons = "Isaac's sons", really?), I'm highly entertained at the idea of AC having a class on it!

  13. Ah yes, RSK. There are times when I'll be working off on my own, and will suddenly break into uncontrollable laughter, having remembered some ridiculous thing that happened at AC, or in WCG. Even back in the day, some of us just could not react to these things in a serious manner, because they were so absurd. Ebonics hadn't come into play in the public's consciousness, but the minute it did, I immediately said to myself, "Dayam! Herbie actually applied some of the principles of Ebonics to "Isaac's Sons" to get the inner city version 'saac's sons. Word from the 'hood, and he probably didn't even realize it!

  14. The concluding question in this post was: "Can true peace of mind ever be found in the Living Church of God?"

And the answer is: "No!" For one thing, within this post, Rod Meredith did not mention a single verse that has the phrase "peace of mind," nor did he mention a single verse that even mentions the word "peace." Rod keeps talking about peace, but really gives no scriptural proof of how one may have that peace.

Rod Meredith wrote: "...The Kingdom of God is coming soon to this earth! Are you praying daily, as Jesus taught us, “Your Kingdom come”? When we see all the evils imploding upon the world around us, we yearn for the Kingdom to come. Do you have that as your mission? Notice what Jesus said in the next verse. When you seek a cause greater than yourself, you can find peace of mind..."

For one thing, where is his proof that the K/G is "coming soon to this earth?" Rod gives none, because we've heard that said for decades. Where is the K/G?

Basically, it appears that Jesus Christ was confident that God's Kingdom would one day come to earth, but He did not say when. Perhaps we should be thankful that God's Kingdom come and that is just part of the prayer Jesus Christ gave us. It's a done-deal, but not when Rod says and nobody will speed up its coming or slow it down.

Rod says "coming soon," but is that really true or is it another lie? Everlasting peace won't be here. After 1,000 years of Rod's Mickey Mouse Millennium Satan is loosed from the pit and whatever human utopia people may believe will be on earth will become history as Satan again deceives the entire world, all four quarters of the earth......and war is again learned by human beings......and Jerusalem will be taken over. How could that happen if Jesus Christ were on earth in that Jerusalem area? Will He be sleeping?

Rod talks about evils, but what about all of the evils that will exist after Satan comes out of that pit? I suspect they will be far worse than what is being experienced on earth today. After all, if Satan did not know that his time was short now, I suspect he will know it is real short then. God does intend to destroy that thing; it was made to be destroyed.

So, what does Rod mean by soon coming to earth?

Rod suggests all sorts of things one may do to GET peace of mind, but does not cite a single verse.

Galatians 5 tells us that peace is one of many fruits of God's Spirit. God is the source of peace and not any of Rod's suggestions, which are "of SELF."

Romans 12:3 and verse 6 show that faith, another fruit of God's Spirit, comes only by measure, by proportion. For example, regarding the measure aspect:

"For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." Romans 12:3

None of Rod's suggestions work for the peace that God says His Spirit is the source for.

What was the question again? "Can true peace of mind ever be found in the Living Church of God?"

It will only be found in the mind of individuals in that man-made organization if one really has God's Spirit. Rod has proven, like Doug Winnail, that they really don't believe God.....that peace must come from God. Peace does not come from doing this and that...of any of their suggestions.

But that's a problem for them also, because believing also comes from God...oh, and by God's Spirit!

"And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power," Eph 1:19

The living group continues to use fear religion to motivate their people. Why not strive to use God's Word?
