Things you can't do on the Last Great Day (Feast of the Eighth Day for the Special Highly Favored Chosen Ones)

The Chief Pharisee who prostrates himself at his idol the law, has laid down his own "law" for his followers:

The Feast of the Ingathering of Nations – also called Tabernacles – will begin at sunset ending 16 Oct and last from 17 Oct to the end of the seventh and last great day of the Feast of Tabernacles at sunset ending 23 Oct.  The first day of the seven day Feast of Tabernacles is a High Holy Day.
The Feast of the Eighth Day will begin at sunset ending 23 Oct and end at sunset ending 24 Oct.
We are to use the day preceding the weekly Sabbaths and the annual High Holy Days to properly prepare, including cooking – because no work of any kind is to be done on any High Holy Day or weekly Sabbath – including traveling or cooking and the buying of food and drink.  That means NO paying bills, going out to restaurants and traveling on the Feast of the Eighth Day either.  James Malm

Has there ever been such miserable little man and splinter group as this one?

  1. Except for the Day of Atonement, cooking and preparation of meals is allowed for a Feast Day.

    Unless it's the weekly Sabbath.

    Wait!

    What?

    That makes no sense....

  3. The Jewish understanding is that no work on the Sabbath includes lighting a fire and cooking food. On holy days (other than Atonement) not occurring on the Sabbath, cooking food is permitted.

On a related issue, no fasting is permitted on the Sabbath, the exception being when Atonement falls on a Sabbath. So all those “special fasts” HWA and splinter leaders called for on a Sabbath were contrary at least to a Jewish understanding of the Sabbath.

  4. there are some jews that believe that the first day of the Feast of Sukkoth (Tabernacles) is also the actual birthday of Jesus, hence the Last Great Day would have been the day of His circumcision...

Some time ago there was apparently a disagreement in ICG over Jesus' birth being on Rosh Hashanah (Trumpets) of the first day of Sukkot. The disagreement wasn't big enough to create another COG.

I hadn't thought about the date of Jesus' circumcision, but I did read or hear some myth about Jesus' foreskin. There is probably some church that claims to have it as a relic, but I can't see it as being quest of another Indianan Jones movie.
