Will UCG Practice True Religion and Visit Stephen Allwine in Prison?

Now that United Church of God has to deal with one of their ministers killing his wife, it will be an opportunity to see how truly Christian the organization really is.  Some UCG members are asking if their leaders will be practicing true religion with Stephen Allwine.

Will UCG, COGWA, and Vic Kibik and others visit Stephen Allwine in prison as the Bible they claim to follow exhorts them to do?

35For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in, 36I was nakedand you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked afterMe, I was in prison and you visited Me.’ 3 Matthew 25:36
Will the UCG and COGWA really step up tot he plate and help provide and care for a child that now has lost two parents?  This innocent child was set up to find his dead mother  by his sick father.  How can a child ever really recover from that?  Will UCG care? Does COGWA care?

26If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not bridle his tongue, he deceives his heart and his religion is worthless. 27Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for orphansand widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

  1. Probably not. Most likely, they'll consider him to be a lost cause who has brought shame and scorn on their ACOG.

But, here's a hypothetical. What if Stephen had been a really zealous type who took everything traditionally taught in Armstrongism at face value, vigorously practicing it all, and never evaluating or considering the natural bad fruits that some of it brought into his life? What if he took what is normally taught as part of "godly" family relationships, and treated his wife as it is taught that men are supposed to? What if the wife reacted as would any normal, sane woman who had been treated in that way, withdrew emotionally, and turned off the tap? What if, rather than getting the point, and modifying his behavior, he suffered for a while and then began having the affairs, leading the way to permanent destruction of the marriage, then realizing that he was about to lose, bigtime, couldn't face it, and went off the deep end?

The surprise is really that this sort of thing doesn't happen more frequently in the so-called churches of God.

  2. “Will UCG Practice True Religion and Visit Stephen Allwine in Prison?”

The UCG might practice typical false religion and encourage people to visit godless perverts in prison.

“...I was in prison and you came to visit me” (Matthew 25:36, NIV).

Joseph ended up in prison after being falsely accused by Potiphar's wife when he refused to commit adultery with her (see Genesis 39:1-23).

John the Baptist ended up in prison for telling Herod that it was not lawful for him to have his brother Philip's wife Herodias (see Matthew14:1-12).

The original apostles ended up in prison for preaching about Jesus the Christ, and some people got arrested and put in prison just for belonging to the church (see Acts 12:1-19).

In stark contrast to the good guys of the Bible, modern false religious types end up in jail for such things as committing adultery and murdering their wives. Do not worry too much, though, about the poor, lonely, adulterating, murdering perverts in prison. Apparently, many women are attracted to incarcerated sex perverts and murderers and want to be their penpals. Demoniacs who twist and pervert all scriptures have tricked these crazy women into thinking that they are doing some sort of good deed and that it is actually a requirement of being a Christian.

  3. If Stephen had followed his bible, he would have treated his wife like a queen, and non of this would have happened.

    1. Exactly!!! Follow your Bible, not Armstrongism! I was totally blown away by the wisdom on this topic presented at one of our local non-ACOG churches. It was like, "Why couldn't we have known this?"

  4. Oh, no, you know, giving used eyeglasses to people in the Ukraine is quite enough.

  5. Will UCG care? They will make a show to at least pretend they do, as is obvious by Vic's actions. Will COGWA care? The elitist cogwads only care about their income and retirements, and by flying below the radar escape detection when in reality they are one of the most abusive, heartless and non-caring cogs on the manipulative market.

  6. So when does his "ordination" officially end? He is innocent until proven guilty after all. Will he still be able to vote in the upcoming UCG general conference in May?

  7. I know at least one UCG congregation that had a prison ministry growing in the Southwest - but then a year or two ago, the Pastor suddenly stopped it.

Perhaps we should ask how many of those groups went to visit Ron Weinland. After all, he was in prison first.
