Dave Pack says he was born to fulfill the roll of being a "reverse engineer" who has to look backwards at HWA's and Habakuk's prophecies.
So my job, because I don’t have the vision…I do have the plain words that this obedient prophet wrote down…My job is to reverse engineer this as best I can and give you a word picture that horrifies you and me in the way God wanted it, so that all of YOU, who read it—because you can’t see it, I can’t really give you a photograph—but that all of you will run when you read it. That’s my task, and we will not be done until today is done, and if it drifts into next week and blends in with some things I cover next week, well then, so be it.
My goal is to…is to…If Habakkuk’s goal was to take a picture and turn it into plain words, my goal is to reverse engineer it and try to take plain words and build a picture with a word picture. So maybe…Maybe I’m learning a little bit why I was born, right now, and when we’re done…if you doubt what I meant…I’m not saying you did or do…but if you doubt that, so to speak, you won’t in about an hour-and-a-half.Yet in spite of all of Dave's glorious new truth's some RCG members are apparently not getting totally on board with it all. Dave is not happy and warns his diehard legalists to avoid them.
And may God help me get you to understand, before I’m done, why, after you understand all of this, you need to run. And whatever games you’re playing in your life with God—vices, not praying and studying enough, not paying Common when you’re sitting on…or you’re not serving enough, you’re not practicing brotherly love, you’ve got attitudes you’re not overcoming, whatever it is…you know, you hold some funny doctrinal ideas…I mean, now’s the time to run—first of all, away from those. Get away from it…Sabbath attendance, marriage issues; it could be anything…Whatever it is…Unfaithful in your tithing, or you name it…because I’ll just tell you, if you said to me, “Mr. Pack”…at the end of this sermon…“You’re trying to scare us.” You know what I’d say? “You bet your life I am!” and I want to do that before this is done. This is not a snare—you will find out—you want to get caught in.
He must be watching "Billions" on Showtime.
ReplyDeleteThis is precisely the way in which District Attorney Chuck Rhodes uses fear manipulation.

"Funny doctrinal ideas"? Really? How in God's name could one in RCG ever differentiate between a "funny doctrinal idea" and the tale weaving bullshit that comes out of his mouth every week, week after week, month after month and year after year.
ReplyDeleteDave begged people to confront him if he ever got off into strange ideas...which he then assured everyone with, 'but brethren, I'm not going anywhere." The fact is Dave's head has left the room with strange and "funny doctrinal ideas" and RCG members are to damn lazy, complacent or afraid to call him on it. Please...call him on it. Someone! Anyone! How about the sycophant council of 16 who always are "never so sure as now" about Dave's stupidity? Ok...well not them.
This passage is all verbose and ridiculous doublespeak. It is living proof one can be brain dead and still gyrate in their seats as if they were conscious and alive. Creepy. And of course, it is bullshit.
Warning you RCG....this is not going to end well for you if you just sit there.
Every Confusing Episode Of The Canadian Television Series "Orphan Black" Makes A Hell Of A Lot More Sense Than The Rubish Coming Out Of David Pack's Mouth.
ReplyDeleteDave begged people to confront him if he ever got off into strange ideas...
ReplyDeleteWell Dave knows his own personal demons but doesn't recognize that he is possessed by them.
And another note, Dave does not have the gift of 3 dimensional thought, but the gift that he shares with other conman is the gift of bullshit. A huckster that tells stories for a living in order to gain a following along the followers money.
Dave encouraged his dunderheads with:
ReplyDelete"because I’ll just tell you, if you said to me, “Mr. Pack”…at the end of this sermon…“You’re trying to scare us.” You know what I’d say? “You bet your life I am!” and I want to do that before this is done. This is not a snare—you will find out—you want to get caught in."
He was talking about he and being in RCG, right? Did I misunderstand? :)
I sat through a sermon in RCG before, one time. Dave said "me" and "I" more times than than could be counted. And he says thing like, "but we don't believe that do we?" And when he made his grand entrance into the "hall" no smile, but a very serious arrogant look on his face, he looked like an unhappy person. He seemed very arrogant to me. After the first 10 minutes I knew that he was very strange and filled with himself. He seemed like a weirdo. I never returned. So glad!
ReplyDeleteIn Dave's case, "reverse engineering" means that he's talking out his butt when he's giving his sermons.

“Reverse Speech, the phenomenon of hidden backward messages in speech. It initially gained worldwide fame in the early 80s as those strange backward messages in rock and roll. Since that time, research has progressed significantly and it is now known to exist in all forms of human speech”. David John Oates.
ReplyDeleteFrom the Restored Church of God sermon, “21st-Century Apostle” part 2 at approximately 1:15:42 into the sermon, we hear the Apostle Dave talk about the “work” and the age that Herbert was when he understood that he held the office of Apostle. It is at this point when we hear Dave say: “He was 60 when he understood he held the office..."

Bottom of page.
So, the old coot began fantasizing about being an apostle in 1952? I'd heard throughout the past that it was Herman Hoeh who first began to refer to Herbie as an apostle. During my own tenure in Armstrongism (which ended in 1975), Herbie used to equivocate. He, himself, would always say "the one you have called God's apostle". Now, he did author an article in the so-called "Good News" in the early 1960s in which he manifested his ego by stating that disagreeing with him was tantamount to blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
ReplyDeleteHonestly? Neither is even relevant when you consider Deut. 18. But, since none of Pack's false prophecies come to pass either, of course he's going to give Ol Hog Jowls a pass!

As whacky as when back in the 1960s , I have heard, that the Beatles Song "Strawberry Fields" if played backwards said "Paul is Dead", and that their record album had all kinds of secretive dead Paul clues too.
ReplyDeleteBTW -Here is a "secret , reversed engineered" anagram of Mr David C Pack that might fit...
MVP CAR AD DICK
The only part that "reverse engineer" has validity in this context, is "reverse".
ReplyDeleteAs for the "engineer" part, I wouldn't let him any where near a train diesel engine.
