The Church of God, even in Passover it cannot be unified

Since Herbert Armstrong's death in 1986, hundreds and hundreds of splinter groups have broken off of the mother church.  Each one claiming they hold the exclusive rights to what God actually thinks and expects.  One self-appointed apostate after another have set themselves up as God's exclusive mouthpiece here on earth. Dreams and endless revelations come to these fools daily.

In spite of all the disunity, one might expect that the Church of God would be unified in keeping it's Old Covenant version of the Passover.  Even with that, the Church of God is divided.

Some groups claim Passover was a few days ago on the might of the 9th, other's like James Malm say it is tonight, the 11th.  Others claim it is later this week.  Others sat outside in the early mornings waiting for the slightest sliver of the moon to show up over Jerusalem and others were outside looking for barley grains, whether in barley fields or along side roads where stray barley has taken root.   If it is there, the legalists will find it.

Chief Pharisee Malm is particularly incensed at those who do not keep it on the same day he does

“Jesus ate the Passover early so that he could die when the lambs were sacrificed and Israel sacrificed the lambs on the afternoon of the 14th and ate it on the end of the 14th:”

That is modern apostate Rabbinic practice designed to deny the Messiahship of Christ by confusing the date of the Passover.

I cannot imagine why this gross heresy is pushed so hard – behind the scenes – in the various COG groups today; except that Satan seeks to confuse the brethren with lies and blind people to the truth.

Just under the surface Tkach Evangelicalism is spread very deep and wide in today’s COG groups by Tkach loyalists; especially in UCG and LCG’s Living U. There is a reason why M.G. was so furious at me teaching the truth, because he hates the truth and is a secret Tkachie; yet he runs like a rabbit when I take a stand and insist that he prove his doctrinal attacks. James

How can the COG ever be unified when it cannot keep its sacred Passover together as one?  Even worse, most of these foolish men all claim they will be heading to Petra where God is going to give them final training.  Imagine what a fight will erupt there since none of them can get along together today.  Laughingly, they all expect to do some major mind boggling work in the near further.  They won't and they can't.

  1. No matter when the (highly irrelevant) Days of Unleavened Bread are, Lent still runs for a couple more days.

    They overlap.

Is that some kind of special.

Anyway, you'd think that drinking wine would unify the boozing alcoholics, but I guess not....

    And Sunday will be Easter!

  2. And then there's the "right" day for Shavuot (Pentecost). Apart from the average Jew, there were three views about the date in the first century: the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and the Essenes, who thought the Pharisees and Sadducess were both wrong.

What day will be the day on which Pentecost is counted from? The day after the first day of ULB is supported by Joshua 5:10, and the weekly Sabbath was chosen by the Sadducees, then by HWA. And counted "from" is inclusive or exclusive? At least one COG still puts Pentecost on Monday rather than Sunday. So it's either May 31, June 4 or June 5 this year.

  3. well, had Malm simply looked up monday night, april 10, he would have seen the full moon, which occurs on the 15th day of the month....that alone should prove to him that he missed the passover....(kinda ironic, huh, since he's a "moon watcher" when it comes to setting the dates of the holy days)

and, if he actually tried to keep it on the night of the 11th, he missed the NTBMO also...

there is no shortage of self appointed experts that came out of the break up of WCG....they saw their chance to grab a following, and they did.

  4. Remember that James D. Malm is just another rebel who rejected what Herbert W. Armstrong had taught. James left the WCG to try to “think for himself” in 1985 while HWA was still alive. Neither James nor his now ex-wife seem to have done very well at all with their attempts to try to “think for themselves.” James' wife got into that sacred names nonsense and divorced him for not going along with it too, and James got into calendar confusion.

James wants the people that HWA had gathered in the WCG to follow him now. James wants to teach them to disagree with what HWA had taught, and teach them to go along with all of James' own pet theories instead. James wants to teach them to “think for themselves” by carelessly going along with whatever James says, but not to try to “think for themselves” by agreeing with what HWA had taught or by coming up with their own ideas that would disagree with anything that James says.

Garbling the gospel probably brought yet another curse on James. James wants to mangle everything that HWA had taught, and then think that he himself must be someone great for messing up everything.

If anyone is still too polite to tell that stupid, rebellious, heretic James Malm that he should be ashamed of himself for teaching rebellion, error, and confusion, then maybe at least just say, The Lord rebuke thee, Jimmy.

  5. Yes, some have observed their Passover service at the evening on the 9th, or the 10th, or the 11th, etc. and who knows how many other different days? I haven't heard of anyone being 30 days earlier or 30 days later. Such confusion!

For one thing there must be a lot of SELF-righteousness amongst the leaders and members of the xcogs, which the following verse seems to indicate:

"For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God." Romans 10:3

So, which one fulfilled God's righteousness? I suppose someday we may find out.

    Only time will tell...

  6. I wonder if it's time to have an Aholah and Aholibah contest amongst the worst of the splinter leaders to determine who has most whored up the so-called revelations of "truth" of Herbert W. Armstrong!
