LCG: Oh Noes! Are Britain and France Getting Ready To Persecute The Living Church of God?

Things just keep getting worse for the Living Church of God.  Persecution seems to be hitting them from every corner these days.  Satan is angry brethren!  Now LCG staff is bewailing Britain and France attempting to stop "...any content promoting hatred and terrorism in any way"

So what could really be wrong with that?

According to our buddies in Charlotte, this will prevent them from speaking forcefully the message they have to deliver to the world.  Considering 99.99% of the world has no idea who LCG is or what they stand for, how could this be considered persecution?  Especially considering the fact that LCG has never been forceful or spoken out in a strong manner about anything, well maybe except for sex. Sex seems to be their favorite topic.  Not much Jesus, but lots of sex.  When you read their blurb below you will see that sex is exactly what they want to talk about.

Now that Meredith is out of the way, why are LCG and Weston still so sex-obsessed?  Now is the perfect time for Weston to talk about grace, justification, rest, and peace that comes from following that inconvenient dude, instead of focusing on the sex.  It just goes to show how displaced LCG's loyalties are.

A COMING FAMINE OF THE WORD

Last week French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Theresa May met to discuss a new, joint counter-terrorism effort aimed at online hate speech and encrypted messaging. A key focus of the effort will be to “make sure internet operators ‘delete any content promoting hatred and terrorism in any way’” (EU Observer, June 14, 2017). Their project will also target tech companies (primarily social media sites) that allow “unacceptable content” to remain on their websites.
In recent years, content that was once considered free speech has increasingly been categorized as unacceptable hate speech—including traditional Bible-based speech related to behaviors that God calls sin! How might such coming legislation impact Christians and the preaching of the Gospel of God’s coming Kingdom? God warned, “‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘That I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD. They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east; they shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, but shall not find it’” (Amos 8:11-12). The Church of God has long understood that a famine of the word will come one day. As world events move forward and societies increasingly curtail civil liberties and free speech, actions taken in the name of protecting against terrorism and hate, we are beginning to see one way a famine of the word could come about! Will even the Bible be banned one day as a book of hate speech?

  1. If God was working with the LCD, Meredith would have appointed a righteous man as his successor. As it stands, it seems it's going to be the same old crap again. Pay, pray, and shut your mouth.

  2. Saw this one coming. LCG needs to change from an 501c3 non profit business to an 508c1a religion so they aren't muzzled as much when the usa's gov. Drops the hammer on those that r breaking the laws of IRS code 501c3's imo

  3. Opinionated write:

"Pay, pray, and shut your mouth."

It is more like "obey, pay, shut your mouth, pray, ."

  4. When will LCG stop playing the wounded martyr and grow a pair of balls? If they actually followed Jesus they would be secure in their standing and understanding and not constantly be looking to be offended or upset by trivialities. The world does not want to hear about sex, especially when it is coming from sexual perverts in Charlotte!

  5. Wow! Do Peter and the wind come to mind, or what? Based on the fact that it takes much to sink a huge oceangoing vessel, I can see why they would worry about every miniscule event which could swamp their little kayak.

If they realize that God is more powerful than Satan, they should know that expressing worry is self-defeating. What a conundrum they put on themselves and their members. It's got to be self-throttling!

  6. Again the Famine of the Word. Didn't Dennis have a round with Bob Thiel over the misunderstanding of this verse?

  7. The other large COG organizations (and even some of the smaller) like CCOG will probably jump on this article too. Until martyrdom occurs all this so-called persecution is minuscule.

  8. I knew pork eating Thiel in LCGWednesday, June 28, 2017 at 1:48:00 PM PDT

Oh great, now we will have to listen to Bob Thiel claim he is being persecuted too. He told everyone he could while in LCG that he would be persecuted and probably killed for preaching his version of the truth. Oh, woe is me, everyone picks on me.

  9. Bob Thiel have a misunderstanding????? Impossible! Thiel is God's Chosen One! Thiel cannot ever make a mistake. Being doubly blessed prevents mistakes.

  10. Oh, sure, totally moving towards banning the Bible. Hyperbole much?

  11. Anon 220 wrote Bob Thiel have a misunderstanding?????

How about "Bob Thiel had a different interpretation"?

Sometimes I listen to Bob's sermons just to see where his interpretations differ. While I'm not sufficiently versed in his niche specialties, it's easy to spot his different interpretations of more general things. That's why I think he should have someone edit his videos before putting them online.

  12. So, what's the haps when one of these groups gets persecuted? Not a danged thing. Doesn't even rise to the level of junior high school bullying. But the leaders get to gloat and brag about it and make it seem as if it validates them. (It doesn't).

  13. The most hilarious thing about all of these posts about LCG is that you just know that they have to stop and think as they write every update as to how the message can be spun by their detractors. Its freaking hilarious!

  14. "Will even the Bible be banned one day as a book of hate speech?"

Well, given how the bible advocates for slavery, genocide, how a rape victim has to marry her rapist, misogyny, etc., it is a book of hate speech, among other things.

"God warned, “‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘That I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD."

Hopefully that includes not just the hearing, but also the preaching. Thank you, Jesus!

  15. How can there be a famine of the word if bibles are freely available, heaps of printed church literature exists in peoples homes, as well as much stored material on peoples hard drives. I doesn't make sense.
Oh, I just remembered, it's talking about the crappy sermons members are forced to listen to at church services. Famine indeed.
