The strategy since the 30s... Of course it was the 1930s, not the 30s CE.

"Brothers, what must one do?" (Acts 2:37)
"Peter replied, 'First donate, then you become coworkers, then...'" (Acts 2:38 Redacted Version)

  3. Excessive charity violates 'you reap what you sow' and 'a workman is worthy of his wages.' The core of successful living is production rather than 'charity.'

What he has done is to create and preside over a lunatic assylum. Probably most of the patients have bought into his fantasy, or have developed the ability to convincingly mirror his illusion.

  6. In this video Dave Pack states, "If you fear God you will obediently send Common - no salvation if you don't!" Really??? Common was used to help those in need in Biblical times, not to build a compound for all those puppet ministers who choose to follow a false apostle! Wake up people - Salvation is a free gift from God- it can't be bought by "giving all" to a wolf like Pack!

If Jeremiah were alive today and had known of the Packman (& professing leaders of fake cog social clubs such as United Ass., cogwa Ass., "living" group, Bobby Thiel, G Flurry, etc.), driven by another spirit, to preach another Jesus (100% flesh and some percentage of God - e.g. some god in the flesh thingy) about another gospel with that Jesus reigning on this earth for a Mickey Mouse Millennium (competing with the likes of Disney World/Land), a 1,000 year period, and also tell everyone that Satan could not be destroyed, then he could just repeat the following!

Jeremiah 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

Lamentations 2:14 Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.

  10. Pack is indeed master of "all things common".

    Yep--- COMMON THIEF!

  11. The Bible is crystal clear on eternal salvation:

"For the wages of sin not giving Common to Dave Pack is death; but the gift of God after giving Dave Pack all assets and living a life of impoverishment as a slave to Dave Pack is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23 Lake of Fire Church of God edited version).

To quote that famous Worldwide Church of God traveling evangelist Gerald Waterhouse from every 3-4 hour sermon he ever gave - "Get the point?"

Get the ball rolling Dave, take a vow of poverty.

It is most unfortunate that, rather than being used to spread the truth, all the money gets worse than wasted on spreading David Pack's new prophetic nonsense.

Some people easily forget that salvation is not to be found in supporting false prophets.

People who initially thought that they were luckier, smarter, and better than others for going along with David Pack's RCG have ended up being unluckier, stupider, and worse than others.

The Devil, who is more cunning and deceitful than most could imagine, designed the RCG so that its victims will be left so financially destitute and spiritually wiped out by the experience that they will be too ashamed to talk about it and warn others. They will not like to admit that they had gone along with something as abusive and crazy as yelling, spitting DCP and his money-grabbing RCG.

  14. Pack is more blind than a bat.

He is probably the worse coveter on earth. I think that even slaves live better than those under him. Talk about a harsh cold hearted task master. There is simply no one that is worse than Pack.

  16. Leopold asked, "For us to whom English is the second language, what is COMMON? Thanks".

MY COMMENT - COMMON is Dave Pack's version of Communism which he is attempting to apply in his Church theocracy. Like political/economic State communism, the masses or members have nothing while the elite few at the top own everything allegedly for the benefit of the masses.

Herbert Armstrong and his Radio/Worldwide Church of God never practiced or preached Common. I let it pass on a previous post without comment by someone who implied Herbert Armstrong was a Communist - WRONG!

I have too many Biblical examples and Sabbath Services sermon notes that state otherwise. Herbert Armstrong has much bad baggage including the preponderance of evidence that he was a sexual predator raping his daughter, but a Communist is not one of them.

Dave Pack's Common is as evil and non-biblical as it comes. He ought to be thrown in jail for fraud and sentenced 3 1/2 years of Great Tribulation like that Felon tax cheat Ron Weinland.

Rod Meredith planned to ordain Pack as an Evangelist, but changed his mind when Pack refused to make more generous donations to the Global Church of God. One could say that Pack learned all too well from his master.

  18. Leopold, Pack's use of this word was a new one on me too, and I am a native speaker of English. So I looked the word up to find out how it has been used as a noun. Out of laziness, I clicked on dictionary.com. (I could have taken down the *Random House Dictionary* from my bookshelf, but that's not necessary because that's the dictionary the online version is based on.)

Anyway, most of the noun forms of the word use the plural *commons* and refer to land or other resources available for use by all, not wealth reserved exclusively by a tyrant. The definition Pack seems to have usurped reads as follows:

"Law. the right or liberty, in common with other persons, to take profit from the land or waters of another, as by pasturing animals on another's land (common of pasturage) or fishing in another's waters (common of piscary)"

The part of this definition Pack is ignoring is the phrase "in common with other persons." If he meant "common" in its original sense, then any community members could graze their livestock on the grounds of his compound, and any of the wealth contributed by members because Pack had declared it "common" should be available for use to anyone in the RCG who needs it. Instead, he alone claims the right to profit from the property (and labor) of others. This is in fact the opposite of common.

In his Authorized Biography, David C. Pack complained about how Roderick C. Meredith was always trying to get him to donate more money to RCM's Global Church of God. David Pack went on about how it was such a horrible thing to do to someone. Now, it looks like David Pack has come to agree that Roderick Meredith's behavior was right after all.

  20. Richard, thanks for your 10:51 AM comment.

Herbert W Armstrong's scam was definitely un-Communist. It was instead hyper-capitalist. The way to make money as a capitalist is to acquire or manufacture goods as cheaply as possible and sell them for as much as the traffic will bear. Salvation (from apocalyptic cataclysm, the Lake of Fire, eternity in Hades, and so forth) is the perfect product because it costs nothing whatsoever to produce. It only needs to be advertised. If you can persuade the credulous to believe they are about to suffer a hypothetical catastrophe and that you have the secret that allows them to elude it, you can make a big profit by

You don't even have to charge them for it at first. You can use the same ploy drug dealers (another hyper-capitalist group) use: "The first one is free." Then you can graciously accept love offerings as tokens of gratitude. Then you can ask for a commitment. You can offer them memberships and start charging tithes, (membership dues like those at Costco), and imply they are a requirement if they ever hope to cash in on the hypothetical reward.

Essentially all belief systems that offer salvation follow variations on this strategy. Armstrong intensified the pressure by prophesying doom "within the next few years" instead of at the end of a believer's natural lifetime, as ordinary Christian denominations do. Dave Pack does him one better by significantly raising the price.

  21. Excellent post Retired Prof!

Retired Prof said, "The part of this definition Pack is ignoring is the phrase "in common with other persons." If he meant "common" in its original sense, then any community members could graze their livestock on the grounds of his compound, and any of the wealth contributed by members because Pack had declared it "common" should be available for use to anyone in the RCG who needs it. MY COMMENT - I'd bet a Judge and Jury would agree with you too, Retired Prof! Very reasonable.

What is a defrauded Packatolla cult member to do once he/she realizes she has been defrauded and shaken down of their life's assets (besides suggestions involving dog poop and bathroom exhaust vents, LOL)? Answer - print Retired Prof's post off, march onto Packatolla's compound with printed post in hand, knock on the door of Dave's residence, enter upon opening and refuse to leave. Hand him Retired Prof's printed post as your legal notice entitling you entry to his home owned by RCG.

Dave, of course, will call the Wadsworth police and have you force-ably and physically removed. You actually want him to do this because at that point you can:

    1) File a civil lawsuit for fraud to get your assets back or at least have a lien position on the Packatolla compound property when the inevitable bankruptcy occurs; If Pack files a criminal trespass complaint against you, then you can add a Count of malicious prosecution. After all, how can you be trespassing on Common grounds which you have paid into to the RCG with your life's assets extracted under eternal salvation threat through Pack's Common doctrine.

    2) Go to the County's States Attorney with a criminal complaint of Fraud - every state has a financial fraud statute and if Dave Pack isn't living Common to the reasonable generally accepted definition which Retired Prof has provided, then Pack is perpetrating a fraud. I bet a Judge and Jury both would agree.

Leave it to a HWA clown wannabee to be preaching a doctrine - a doctrine of MAN - and not even know what the hell the definition of the words he is using actually means!

  22. Herbert W Armstrong's scam was definitely un-Communist

My first encounter with the R/WCG was actually 50 years ago this month, just after the height (views vary) of the Cold War. The literature stressed that "Common" had been used to justify Communism, and strongly denied it, downplaying this reference in Acts.

After Dave made his Clarion Call, and later introduced Common, I posted a remark that the dispossessed would be living in the Wadsworth compound. Rather than the dispossessed, it's the elite, in the Wadsworth Packia.

  23. If everything is common, then why is the Pack corporation not a stock company, and all the contributors "common stock holders"??

Truth of the matter is that the Pack corporation and real estate holdings ownership titles are 100% owned and controlled by Davey.

There is nothing "common" and this is a giant shake down! Pack is a douche and criminal!

  24. We must remember one subset of human behavior, as dramatized in a great Hollywood film from the past. The majority of citizens living in Stepford actually preferred living that chosen lifestyle. RCG appears from all reports to be the Stepford ACOG!

Yes, the irony and hypocrisy. I remember Dave's account of what RCM expected from him when he inherited his parents' health food business. And Dave's idea of running a church like a business, and not knowing how to run a business...

  28. Pack said in a letter about common mailed to RCG members, that if you had a million dollars that you should give it all to the work. However, he did add that you could keep about $15,000 of it, you know, for an emergency fund.
