PCG: What A Woman Wants

It is always interesting watching the wet behind the ears "men" in the various COG's determine what they think women need and feel.  Most of the men doing this already have problems in their own marriages and write these articles because they feel their spouses are not respecting them as they should.  This message started with Herbert Armstrong and Loma and is carried on to this day by weak impotent little men.

Philadelphia Church of God's Joel Hilliker writes:

The Basic Needs of a Man

1. He needs to be admired.
2. He needs honest feedback.
3. He needs to be respected for his role as the leader.
4. He needs to be bolstered and encouraged.
5. He needs recognition for his achievements and success.
6. He needs the loyalty and support of the opposite sex.
7. He needs a challenge, and to be understood for his masculine interests, drives and ambitions.
8. He needs a woman to be enthusiastic and responsive to his ideas, suggestions and requests.
9. He needs appreciation for the special things he does.
10.He needs a sense of self-worth.
Men—here is the list of a woman’s needs. Working to understand these and fill these needs will make you a more valuable companion and friend to the single women in the Church. Pray that God would give you the love, wisdom, kindness, tact, patience and tenderness to exhibit these qualities.

The Basic Needs of a Woman

1. She needs attention.
2. She needs appreciation, approval and sincere compliments.
3. She needs people and personal relationships.
4. She needs to be loved, respected and treated with tenderness.
5. She needs a shoulder to cry on without fear of rejection.
6. She needs to know that her opinions count.
7. She needs to know a man appreciates her differences & tries to understand her emotional makeup
8. She needs a man to tell her of his plans so she’ll know how to properly prepare for them.
9. She needs to be assured that he is mindful of her physical limitations.
10. She needs for a man to be sensitive, protective and caring of her total welfare.
This outline concluded these lists by saying that these needs and differences can be summed up in two broad principles. These are points we should remember in our dealings with the opposite sex. We should picture them as if stamped on their forehead or as a sign hung around the neck:
· For the man: needs a sense of self-worth—treat with respect.
· For the woman: fragile—handle with care.

  1. Read those two lists, and tell me which one applies better to Ryan Malone.

  2. What a Crock of Crud! A very generalized statement that is not thought out real well, and is stereotypical. The list for men and women are very interchangeable at virtually every point mentioned.

  3. Ryan Malone and his screeching "beard" need their own lists that are gender specific.

  4. C'mon. This is nitpicking at it's finest. I'm not a fan of PCG by any means, but this lost isn't too far off what I imagine men and women want and need. It's not like they said men expect a meal on the table every night. I think because a lot of things aren't getting out anymore, you've been reduced to grasping at straws.

  5. For what it's worth, both of these lists could have come from "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus." Similar characteristics.

So it's not necessarily a PCG or COG or HWA invention.

  6. Loyalty, admiration, respect, self worth, recognition, all have to be earned. They are not entitlements as implied. There are many dead beat husbands, and they deserve the exact opposite of these needs. Conveniently, this is not mentioned.

  7. Child...It is people like you that allow the Flurry cult clan to continue to abuse, steal money from and spiritually destroy member lives. Your failure to speak out as you support the abuses make you just as sick as the Flurry clan is. How many more need to commit suicide? How many more wives need to leave their husbands who woke up to Flurry's lies? They take their kids and money and leave the families destroyed. How many more grandparents need to die abandoned by their children still in the cult? YOU are just as sick as the Flurry clan and all of the abusive leaders.

  8. Anonymous 3:21 I sure hope you're comment wasn't directed at me. Because I have an opinion and said the list wasnt too bad I'm just as sick as the Flurry clan? Sorry. I'm a freethinker and I'm allowed to have an opinion.

I'm a freethinker and I'm allowed to have an opinion. And maybe my moniker confused you.. I'm a child of a PCGer as in my parent attends...I don't...so I don't know what sort of platform you want me to speak out from.

  10. What a man needs is sex.
What a woman needs is sex.
    Bottom line.
    Forget that other bullshit.

  11. Well, COG ministers, despite their many faults, were miles ahead on understanding men and women than the pathetic feminist society we live in today. That's because they got some good info from somewhere, which was written before the lying man-hating feminist propaganda machine hit full stride.

  12. Both lists excluded SEX!

Well, it's good to see someone can make a list without being obsessed with sex.

  13. In theory, PCG men have authority over the women, but in practice they don't. The minister actually has all the say that husbands should have. Women will run to a minister who will jump to the defense of the poor woman in distress (as they see it) and castrate the innocent guy for the slightest perceived infraction, often without bothering to really hear his side of anything. So if you want authority over your wife the PCG is the last place you should go. The only men who have power in that church are the select few in the ministry. The rest are totally controlled and micromanaged doormats.

  14. In the West, women are only half women anymore.

That was my own experience and observation while in the WCG. And it applied equally to single men dating the single women. The women behaved like spoilt brats, knowing full well that they can hiding behind the ministers abusive skirts. It was the game of the unjust steward. The women paid the ministers for the 'service rendered' by treating them like movie stars.

Both the ministers and women deserve to be publicly whipped and flogged like our ancestors did in the good old days. After the whipping (not before), they are extended Christian forgiveness.
Thankfully, the beatings will resume after Christ's second coming.
And that Journal wet dream article (written by a woman) about forgiveness with out repentance rubbish will be forgotten as well.

  16. I can't stand PCG, yet I'm actually surprised they published as benign a list as this. What they say from the pulpit may well be different. But, as Anon 6:33 said, it really doesn't matter; the ministers are the heads of the households. A husband who studies the Bible and comes up with a different understanding will have "the minister says..." thrown in his face.

Anon 1:00 said "Loyalty, admiration, respect, self worth, recognition, all have to be earned."
I disagree, if you view people first with respect and admiration for who they are it does make a difference in how you are treated and received. If I have to earn someone's respect I will generally move on to more generous people with whom to spend my time. This does not mean anyone should be a doormat, but an attitude of waiting for someone to earn your respect will get you none, and probably a lonely life. Sometimes we are hurt and we say such things about people having to earn such and such, but it really doesn't work in life.

Yes, and sex being left off is foolish.

  17. When I reread the lists, I do think the "women's needs" are far too subordinate.

You seem to have a mixed message. Your 'view with respect and admiration people for who they are' is in fact earned respect and admiration.
My experience is that those who give unearned respect/admiration are giving away narcissistic supply (mental energy) that they have stolen from others. They steal this by verbally abusing/bashing others. So it amounts to the game of the unjust steward.

These are the same people who claim that God doesn't answer prayers (surprise, surprise) and that those who claim that they do, are mentally ill and hallucinating.

  19. Just wanted to let you know that the PCG Members aren't so easy to fool, at least not all of them. For the past 9 months Gerald Flurry and the Ministry have been harping about the new throne and stone since quite a few members are questioning this new so called new revelation. It has come to the point where they have been told to accept it in faith and don't strive with your Minister over it. I wonder what's happened to prove all things as previously taught. Gerald Flurry and his son are getting vainer and more arrogant as time goes on and people see it and are waiting for the right time to leave.
