As usual, UCG resorts to the tired and worn out "fear factor" that has been vomited out for 8 decades by various church leaders, and that is that anyone who leaves the COG does so because they have heeded the doctrine of demons when they departed from the faith. Immediately, every UCG member stops to think that if they ever dare leave the church they will quite possibly be taken over by demons. When will COG members ever wake up to the fact that if they do decide to leave the church they are NOT doing so because of demon influence and that their minds are NOT defiled!
A Seared Conscience
The Bible talks about a seared conscience. Paul wrote, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron” (1 Timothy 4:1-2, emphasis added throughout). He also wrote, “To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled” (Titus 1:15).So what is a poor church member to do if they leave and have some regrets? They need
The Ultimate Solution
So what is the ultimate solution to the pain, suffering and injury humankind has inflicted upon one another for a millennia?
How will the healing of the mind and seared consciences begin?
The only true way to eradicate moral injury is through the restoration of all things, the restoration of the law of God!
It’s the removal of sin and the installation of a new way of doing things. It’s a spiritual solution. It’s a return to holiness. In the Church of God, the Law trumps everything, including Jesus. Surprisingly though, Jesus dude does get a couple of paragraphs at the end of the article, where he always seems to be relegated. It ends with the claim that UCG FULLY understands the plan of God for the world. The fact remains, after 25 years, they do NOT!
We Must Be Cleansed Now
The blood of Jesus Christ our Savior is what cleanses our conscience, is what cleanses our sins, is what cleanses us from immorality and moral injury. It’s a spiritual solution.
As people who fully understand the plan God has for the world, we must take our calling seriously and act upon it. We must have a clean conscience and remove sin and all types of moral impurity that can injure our minds.
For them, it can never be about logic or further education. Has to be a demon, or someone wanting to sin. I mean, what else could make someone want to depart from Utopia?

All this endless talk about healing. The obvious solution to the problem is, don't injure others. But no, that's too much to ask.
ReplyDeleteSo forget about valuing human life, respecting rights (a taboo by the ministers) and treating others with dignity and respect. Instead it's non stop talk about forgiveness and healing. It's the irresponsible talking to the responsible.
This article made me almost laugh with pity for the idiots that are Trapped in this Armstrong cult. This article is the same old boring bull shit I used to hear growing up in WCG/GCI. I wish the leaders of these groups would stop being assholes towards their members and start treating them with kindness.
ReplyDeleteYou can obey your minister whether or not you have the Holy Spirit in you.
ReplyDeleteYou can only obey Jesus Christ's magnification of the Law if you have the Holy Spirit in you.
The Holy Spirit is perfect. Neither you nor your minister is perfect. The problem with UCG and the other ACOGs is that ministers often say: "When I tell you what to do, if you think the Holy Spirit is telling you something different, the problem is that you aren't listening properly to the Holy Spirit. So, just obey me." Be careful, because when they say this they are setting themselves up as mediators between you and your Father... which Jesus said was NOT part of Christianity, now that the veil has been torn.
If you follow your minister instead of your conscience, you are being led AWAY from the Holy Spirit. Your minister, by his fruits and his words, should be helping your joy in developing your Christian conscience and discernment. If you don't USE the Holy Spirit, you will LOSE it. So, when you disregard your conscience and do something "because the minister said so" even though it makes you uncomfortable, that's a sure sign that you are being en-CULT-urated into your group, not growing in the grace and knowledge of God.
The restoration means restoring people to a relationship with God as in Eden, not the law. The law came with sin, not in Eden.
ReplyDeleteThe true way to restoration is through Jesus Christ.
"If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God has raised him from the dead, you WILL be saved"
That's a bit rich coming from UCG. For many are under the impression that UCG have departed from the faith. Lip service and all that.
ReplyDeleteThere is a difference between leaving the faith, and leaving a particular denomination.
ReplyDeleteThe COGlodytes love to give credit to "Satan and his deeeeeemons" for just about anything.
ReplyDeleteI suppose that if you were a non-COG biblical literalist, you could argue that this is actually "Unpardonable Sin" territory...
Did you actually read the whole article?
ReplyDeleteYou say “In the Church of God, the Law trumps everything, including Jesus.”
Yet in the very heart of the gospel of Jesus, when asked He says:-
Mat 22:37 Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
If Jesus isn’t talking about the principles and laws of God, what exactly is He talking about?
Are you suggesting that love to God and to fellow man is something that no longer applies?
I doubt that there is life after this life. If I am wrong and there is life after this life it will be a life that everyone progresses into at death. This new life, if it even exists, won't be something we earn by our good behavior nor will it be given to us because we happen to believe in accepting a divine savior. If there is life after this life every person, with no execption, will live on. There will be no judgment that will send some to heaven and some to hell, or the lake of fire. Even though I personally do not believe that there is life after this life I do hope that I am wrong, but no amount of hope will or can change what our altimate eternal fate is. So live life to the max. Enjoy life as much as possible because this may very well be the only life you will have!!
ReplyDeleteSome people here talk about logic but are incapable of it. If the establishment didn't tell them what to think they would be lost in cranial space.
ReplyDeleteYes Questerok but the law and the prophets were until John.
ReplyDeleteThe law, as Paul told us, was a harsh master until Christ died and brought us back to God as we once were and then lost.
The law was the shadow. Once the real thing came the shadow was gone.
Yes, the church of God substitutes the law, which they worship, for Christ.

ReplyDeleteGood Platonic logic, just like the early Church Fathers. Too bad scripture uses Hebraic logic...
Smoke and mirrors QuesterUK smoke and mirrors. You vigorously type out your indignation meanwhile you deleted all your own dodgy comments that would have got you deposed from power. Smoke and mirrors.

ReplyDelete“UCG: If you leave the church, you do so because of demons, and to fix yourself, you need the law”
So true.
No doubt, all those unrepentant, unconverted unbelievers who hang out at the UCG are demon influenced. Considering the behavior of some of the semi-retarded weirdos who hang out at the UCG, it is a certainty. They certainly do drive other people away.
To cure the problem, people do need to get away from the UCG and the evil influence of all the godless types there, and need to keep the laws of God.
ReplyDelete“UCG: If you leave the church, you do so because of demons, and to fix yourself, you need the law”
The UCG ministers love to welcome in demoniacs and kick out true believers. It will be the ministers' own fault if their own evil behavior causes them to end up without their paychecks.
9:40 must spend his life in a dark indoor room, if he seriously believes what he wrote.
ReplyDeleteThe law was the shadow. Once the real thing came the shadow was gone.
Real things cast shadows. The real thing is inseparable from its shadow. No real thing makes its shadow go away.
Anon 641 -
ReplyDeleteYes, both shadow and substance, as in Rod Serling's Twilight Zone introduction.
Separating the shadow from the reality that casts the shadow in Plato's philosophy was adopted by the church fathers. There was even a niche group in the WCG that thought Plato could have been a monotheist...
Perhaps related to that - UCG President Kubik went with Jorge de Campos on a trip to northern Brazil this Sabbath.
ReplyDeleteMr. de Campos told a service in Oklahoma last Sabbath there's some sort of "witchcraft" issue there.
He did not explain whether he means rebelliousness or literal witchcraft. We'll see.

ReplyDeleteLosing their paychecks? That's thinking long term. To the ministers, all that exists is the now, or next week.
Besides, bad things only happen to the little people. It never happens to the big people like ministers.
