Rebellious Philadelphia Church of God Members Disobey HQ

It looks like Gerry Flurry does not have complete control over his members as he assumes he does.

It seems that quite a few PCG members did NOT follow directions and stay in PCG negotiated and approved hotels for the Feast this year.  The church has had a long reputation of frowning upon members who decided to stay where they pleased instead of kowtowing to the orders of higher-ups.

PCG ended up having to foot the bill for some unused rooms this year and the Flurry clan is none too happy.

Plus, quite a few members checks bounced that were put in the basket for offerings/tithes.

On the other hand, PCG is delighted PCG members are giving lots of money to pay off the personal jet purchased for the exclusive use of the Flurry family.  PCG members have paid off 30% of the initial cost of the plane that was purchased so Gerald did not have to sit next to dirty and unclean heathens on commercial flights, for Lil'Stevie's use in international travel, and for the transporting of grandkids to Irish dance competitions.  PCG has had to give up using the jet for transporting the Stone of Scone to Jordan so they can let Jesus sit on it.

PCG had increased costs at a North American feast site because some members did not stay at the designated hotels that the PCG reserved for them and so the PCG had to pay for the unused rooms leaving the PCG to pay for these on top of other costs. Andrew Locher told members to counsel with their ministers if they are planning to not stay in the rooms the PCG reserved.
Fifty or so checks bounced so he chastised members to always make sure they have the funds in their bank accounts for the amounts they are tithing as it ends up costing the PCG more money in labor to sort this out and sometimes the PCG is charged fees from the banks for the bounced checks.
Locher was also very pleased that the members gave greatly to the airplane fund [Flurry's jet plane] and they will have 30% of it paid by end of the year. --Anonymous Exit and Support

  1. I've never attended PCG and I'm not planning on it. Gerald Flurry seems to be just another Armstrong worshipping meathead like anybody else in the ACOG cults!

  5. Time for Flurry to put an ATM in the lobby, or to pass around a cell phone with a SQUARE reader device on it for offerings! LOL!

  6. If a few checks bounced at the F of T, that probably isn't anything new. I imagine that all churches have a few checks bounce from time to time.

Very wise and lucky decision to avoid “That (False) Prophet” Gerald Flurry.

Gerald is not just like any others. Gerald is much worse than average.

Gerald does not really worship HWA. Gerald just pretended to. Gerald actually thinks that HWA was wrong and edits and changes HWA's writings so they don't expose Gerald's flood of “new revelation.” Gerald just pretended to admire HWA so he could ensnare HWA's followers and their wallets. Gerald really only worships himself, and wants everyone else to worship him too.

  10. As someone who has worked in the hotel industry, that is not how a hotel block of rooms works. Basically when a conference comes in needing both a banquet hall and rooms for those attending, they say we want to set aside x amount of rooms and this banquet room. The prices of the rooms and the banquet room are negotiated based on how many are needed. Once prices are agreed upon which usually goes along the lines of "if you rent x amount of rooms we'll give you z price for the banquet room" or if you rent the banquet room at x price we'll guarantee z price for your hotel rooms" or a combination of the 2 based on what your needs are. In the case of most COG churches they want the lower price for the banquet room. In order to get that price x amount of rooms need to be rented. No one is on the hook for paying for those rooms unless the quota isn't met. And in which case you're not actually paying for extra hotel rooms, you're just paying a higher price for the banquet hall, which is why PCG is mad. THERE ARE NO PAID FOR UNUSED HOTEL ROOMS. The hotel only has a price code in their computer system to track how many rooms are reserved under that code. Its essentially a reservation in the system before a reservation so that the
hotel doesn't sell out ahead of time. Per the contract, after x amount of days those guaranteed rooms are let go by the hotel in their system in order to free up available rooms to the general public. This amount of guaranteed time is worked out between the hotel and the organization well ahead of time and like I said is in the contract. That's why usually if you get a wedding invitation or something there's a please make your reservations before x date, because the hotel doesn't want unsold rooms. Some hotels will still honor the price after that date, but they are not obligated to and any rooms reserved after that time period do not count towards the contract. And the banquet room price is adjusted based off the amount of rooms with the reservation code. It's all very nitty gritty but there's a lot of confusion out there on how hotel blocks work, just thought I would help clarify.
