Exposing the underbelly of Armstrongism in all of its wacky glory! Nothing you read here is made up. What you read here is the up to date face of Herbert W Armstrong's legacy. It's the gritty and dirty behind the scenes look at Armstrongism as you have never seen it before!
With all the new crazy self-appointed Chief Overseers, Apostles, Prophets, Pharisees, legalists, and outright liars leading various Churches of God today, it is important to hold these agents of deception accountable.
Herbert Armstrong's Tangled Web of Corrupt Leaders
It would be kind of creepy buying the house and setting up your bedroom and being intimate with your spouse know that the sex addict Spanky had been intimate in the same room. Ewwwww!
Or even worse, siting in the living room knowing that Bob Thiel had been in the same space! Double Ewwwwwww!
I’d surely want to have a legitimate pastor or priest from the mainstream go through the house, blessing it and spreading incense and holy water around to make sure there were no left over demons hanging around!
Don’t even think of having your ACOG minister do this. First, he’d probably refuse, and secondly, it would be ineffective anyway.
Of course not, 9:43. I believe that most Christian ministers are doing God’s work. Nobody has or can have 100% truth at this time. There is no “one true church” amongst the plethora of Christian churches. Every single one of them needs some sort of correction. There are ministers, pastors, and priests in every group who are close to God and theologically literate, just as there are genuine Christians in each of them.
As Armstrongites, we used to point out all the error in “the world’s” churches”, while being so proud of knowing that we should keep the OT holy days, that Pentecost was on Monday, that the Germans were Assyrians and were coming in 1972, and that JC would split the Mount of Olives upon His return in 1975. So, obviously, although all try, no followers of Jesus Christ have 100% truth.
I feel terrible about sending my tithes to an organization in the past that unneccesarily scared little children with the false prophecies about 1975, and that caused people to blow off their educations and just “abide” as we all waited for the end. Families were blown apart by elitism. The Catholics of course made mistakes too, but really they were no worse than the mistakes of HWA. I believe a Catholic priest, a Protestant minister, or a Jewish rabbi are all more valid than ACOG ministers, especially the ACOGgers who have ordained themselves apostles or prophets!
Will the LCG apply their own advice and use the proceeds from the house for that 'one last push.'
I'm watching the 1964 YouTube documentary on WW1. On many occasions, the soldiers were told that after this one last bayonet charge, the war would be over. In one such one day charge, the French lost 90,000 men. And the war didn't end. I can't help wondering if this is where Herb got his manipulative 'one last push' from.
Who's the idiot who chose not to set the price at $499K? Meredith's estate won't get full asking price anyway, and by setting the price at $500K the house will be excluded from all searches for houses "under $500K."

BB I think you gave the impression you were Catholic or Episcopalian ("Not that there is anything wrong with that") by referencing the use of incense, blessings and holy water driving out demons and that if you ask for that , no ACOG minister would do this, as if were refusing to do typically Catholic ritual shouldn't cross their minds etc.
I'd not of done that at a minister either. However today, I'd probably smudge the place with sage or sweetgrass before moving in. :)
I'd be curious to know, besides Armstrongism, where you might draw the line in Christianity between the acceptable bunch and "those that would trouble you" as Paul warned his Galatian folk about when referring to the Peter, James and John Jerusalem Apostle types and their ilk in his view.
Extreme legalists, uber literalists, authoritarians, elitists, people who embrace heresy and pass it off as Christianity, teachers who claim to know prophecy and use it to manipulate people are all on my manure list, Dennis.
I’m not Catholic, but I believe the Catholics came from Paul’s Gentile churches, so sometimes depict their rituals in a positive way. Personally, I believe that everyone is a mixture of good and evil, and whenever I can cite the good, I will. Not liking labels, it doesn’t bother me if some get the impression that I’m one thing or another, even when actually I’m none of those things.
But, yeah, it just struck me as funny, a priest going through Rod’s former domicile performing rituals to ward off evil spirits. Somehow, if I’d used the example of a Native American shaman, in this case it wouldn’t have carried the same impact.
Seeing as LCG believes the mentally ill are inhabited by demons... and RCM was very clearly mentally ill....maybe it's haunted?
LCG ministers are known for their glaring hypocrisy. I would very SERIOUSLY doubt it if the proceeds went to support "the work". Rather it will help pay for more booze for all Spanky's alcoholic children.

Perhaps Joe Tkach, who is retiring in Charlotte, could purchase it. With our money of course.
