False prophet Bob Thiel no longer needs to worry about sharing Petra with at least one Church of God. It seems that Gerald Flurry has a new place of safety that he is taking the Stone of Herb to so his creature "jesus" can come and sit on it. While Gerald is in his new place of safety he will be the true King that the true Church of God members will look to as the final authority as they are trained to rule the world.
His new place of safety is Adullam, located between Jerusalem and the Gaza strip. Adullam was first mentioned in Gen 38:1 and Micah 1:15. Adullam is the place that David supposedly escaped to when he was running from Saul.
22 David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and his father’s household heard about it, they went down to him there. 2 All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their commander. About four hundred men were with him.
Could this king be someone outside God’s one true Church? That would be impossible. This king is speaking the truth and hasting righteousness, so it must be a converted member in God’s Church.
God has to have a king in this Church who is a descendant of David. And we also must have a stone that is a symbol of David’s throne. God has given us a new stone. The stone is alwaysassociated with the throne—not only as a symbol of the throne, but also a symbol of our Rock, our Leader, Jesus Christ!
It was right around January 16, 2017, that God revealed the truth about the new stone of destiny.
And it was on this date that God moved the throne of David to this Church!God is getting us ready to go to the place of safety where David’s throne is prophesied to be. There is a new king and a new stone. There has to be for this prophecy to be fulfilled! And this new king would have to be God’s apostle, at least for this time.
The prayer rock, the new symbol of David’s throne, also came to us through a descendant of David, Herbert W. Armstrong. And it all happened around January 16, 2017, the anniversary of his death.
God made all these things happen miraculously. This is all prophesied, and God has brought it about in a way that is truly mind-staggering when you think about it.
King James BibleYet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel.
The book of Micah has some key scriptures we can better understand in light of this new revelation.
This book covers a span of time from just before the Great Tribulation to a time far into the Millennium. It prophesies what will happen to God’s people during the Tribulation.
Micah 1:9 says, “For her wound is incurable ....” This is a time when the nations of Israel are sick with an incurable wound—a life-threatening condition that cannot be healed! Their only hope is to go through the holocaust of the Tribulation.
“Make thee bald, and poll thee for thy delicate children; enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee” (verse 16). Here is a descriptive warning of what is about to come upon national Israel. Think of the symbol of the United States, the bald eagle. God says the baldness of Israel is going to be enlarged as its people go into captivity! During the Great Tribulation, they will suffer as never before!
Now—what will happen to God’s people during that time? Verse 15 says, “Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel.” This translation is a little awkward. The word Mareshah means summit, or chief place. And the New King James Version reads:
“... The glory of Israel shall come to Adullam.”
Where is Adullam? This was the cave to which David escaped when he was on the run from King Saul (1 Samuel 22:1). Remember, Micah is an end-time book. Here is a prophecy of a time when “the glory of Israel” will come to a cave, or rocky fortress. The Cambridge Bible Commentary says it is “the worthy part of Israel” that goes to Adullam. The Soncino commentary says, “[T]he phrase means that Israel’s nobility will take refuge in a cave” (emphasis mine throughout). Who are the nobility of israel? They are the people who have the throne of David!
They are spiritual Israel, or God’s true Church.
God considers these people worthy to take responsibility for David’s throne. That is a lot of responsibility! But these people are God’s nobility! What greater nobility is there than having David’s throne?
David escaped to the cave of Adullam along with several hundred people. Prophecy shows that, in the end time, God’s people will have to escape to a cave as well. They will go to a rocky fortress to escape the Holy Roman Empire, which has been chasing them for centuries! The Church had to flee into the wilderness for 1,260 years (Revelation 12:6—described prophetically as “days”). Now, we will have to flee for 1,260 days (verse 14). When we do, we will take with us the throne of David.
We must be prepared to go to the cave of Adullam, the place of safety. Make this a part of your thinking, because we live in the most urgent time ever! We must be willing to go anyplace and do anything God wants. We must get our minds conditioned to do that! He often offers opportunities or directs us to do things we don’t want to do, humanly. We all have to do things we would rather not do; that is good for us! We must have the mindset that whatever God says, we will do. That will bring the most wonderful reward you could possibly receive!
You can review the history: David and God’s people came to power shortly after he left that cave. God says that immediately after we leave this rocky fortress, the place of safety, we are going to come to power! We will rule the world with Jesus Christ on David’s throne!
Think of the honor God is giving us! What a wonderful blessing it is to have the great God give us the throne of David—which is really the throne of God—now! What a calling we have been given, and what a blessing to understand this and to know what it all means!
Micah 2:6 foretells of God’s lukewarm people trying to stop us from prophesying these things. They are not the nobility of Israel. They want to blend into the world and prophesy smooth things.
That is not the life God has called us to! Those who sit on David’s throne must obey the great God with all their being as David did, a man after God’s own heart! That is what God wants all of us to strive to be: men and women after God’s own heart!
God abundantly rewards such obedience. He promises that even in the very worst circumstances, He will protect us. As people attack us, they will fall, and we will be the only ones left standing.
CULT-A-GEDDON: When a dangerous doomsday cult either attempts or implements the unthinkable.
ReplyDeleteI think the hand on the PCG Cult-a-geddon just ticked from 11:56 to 11:57.
Dangerous, foreboding, ominous words that are messing with the lives of so many people. If there was ever a warning time for people to get OUT of that cult, it's now.
That stupid rock - tying a stupid rock in to such absurdities is stupid.

ReplyDeleteIt really is so absurd
To worship the Stone of Herb
The things that they seek
Makes one truly think
It's all from a different herb.
TO think it all came from a Flurry
Who seems to be in a huge hurry
The tales he tells
About caves they will dwell
Should make every person just worry.
To think they'll inhabit some nation
is all in their imagination
There's no way they'd go
Everyone would say no
Then they'd just change the time expectation.
They say that Old Rock is a throne
They gave it a brand new home
He found it one day
and then thought he would say
It's the most special rock all his own
PCG NEEDS TO HEAR THIS. LOUD. ON BASS BOOST.

ReplyDeleteI dont know how many people Robbers Cave Oklahoma can hold. But it seems the culties are being mentally set up for some nasty twist or ending of their lives.
I warned before that Gerald Ray Flurry is increasingly disacosiating himself from anything wcg or herbert armstrong stoud for in the past.
He is fir certain disociating from "estsblished armstrongism" into a complete personality cult of the worst kind.
Make NO mistake on the code language he uses to draw people from armstrongism. That might simulate armstrongism.
Flurry is moving rapidly toward a point of no return, although there are still 3 minutes to go I agree.
But 3 minutes are over very quickly when you forgot to program 911 in your mobile.
We should consider what might trigger Flurry to move further into fantasyland.
Doesn't the next generation have any concern for What will be left for his family when he continues to push along his insane theorizing? Or did they already transfer the assets in case of tkachian collapse, or pulling the plug?

Everybody Must Get Stoned- Bob Dylan
ReplyDeleteWill any of these leaders actually pull the “place of safety trigger?” Or will it continue to be one of the selling points of the Armstrong cults, always spoken of as an eventuality, but, like the proverbial dangling carrot, somehow ever receding into the near future?
ReplyDeleteFlurry seems to realize that in order to keep the event real in his members’ minds, he must constantly revitalize it as a concept. Others have allowed it to become diminished as a sales point, to wear out its impact, as opposed to reintroducing it as “new and improved”.
I see several scenarios for Flurry and PCg. He has reached an advanced age. In one scenario, he would become impatient with waiting and would actually issue the flee order, possibly due to a particularly menacing reaction by Europe to something said or done by Donald Trump. This could only end badly even if PCg taught humane and loving leadership
Another scenario would be that Flurry joins the grandfathers, he dies, before his speculations are acted upon. His heirs are shocked, and left to reevaluate.
Lastly, the concept of a place of safety remains as a talking point, but, following the normal ACOg patterns, continues to be ever postponed to 3-5 years in the future.
The good news for these ACOgs is that they have each shrunken and splintered to more convenient sizes, making the logistics of a place of safety believably marketable. We know from recent news items that Petra is crumbling to the point of no longer being viable or practical as such a site. And, on the other front, in the case of the so-called Laodiceans (there are no church eras!) and the non-ACOg population of the USA, we have recently witnessed the difficulties and inabilities Europe has experienced in absorbing comparatively many fewer refugees from the Middle East. These and other factors point to the time and date stamp of Armstrongism as having expired decades ago. HWA’s model is no longer even feasible.
Regardless of the final outcome, the Armstrong events are something that people need to have happen, because otherwise, they will have to admit that they wasted their entire lives, and suffered all of the abuse involved for nothing. The truly stalwart will continue to get crazier and crazier as what they have believed simply doesn’t happen.

If Gerald went fully crazy suddenly, people would leave from shock and dismay. But sliding into the twilight zone inch by inch makes it hard for them to know when to pull the plug. I can relate because I had the same trouble with the WCG changes. I finally had had enough when they told us it was ok to murder. Drifting downstream is more deceptive than going over a waterfall.
ReplyDeleteYes Gordon.
ReplyDeleteHWA was dealing with people who had deep roots in christianity, the accompanying moral codes and a society still embedded in those norms.
With Flurry we see people with deep roots in armstrongism only, a society completely without any viable belief system. In that context having flurry disociating from original armstrongism is deeply disturbing seeing he is teplacing it with a substitute cult that adheres to the whims and moods id only one man, (who has clearly lost it).
This does not compare in any way to hwa, whose constituency at least tried to make a case from established biblical norms.
Flurry is shifting from a dangerous cult to a very dangerous cult. ( although like the other person I believe he moves from 4 to 3 min to 12.
I would take action at 1. That is when the cave (in) order is given.
2 min to 12 would be an increase ic effort BEYOND keeping the frogs in the boiling pot occupied with 'works".

"The prayer rock, the new symbol of David’s throne, also came to us through a descendant of David, Herbert W. Armstrong." Doe this mean Mr. Flurry is a descendant of HWA. Did HWA have sex with Mr. Flurry's mother, in order for this to be possible? In a short time Mr. Flurry will die a natural death and his prophecies will be tossed onto the dung heap of history. Current PCG members should find any nearby cave and practice living in it now. It will be fun sleeping on a damp rock and bat guano.
ReplyDeleteI've heard that if you break the Armstrong prayer rock, it will break the spell and the people will be free.
ReplyDeleteFor those who feel that flurry is just a normal abberation from armstrongism.
ReplyDeleteThat "stone of scone" thing of HWA had the authority of the established church of england, the empire, hwa s grandmother, the crown of england and the facts on the ground, a culture, behind it to lend weight to the story. (EVEN IF IT IS JUST MYTH, at least it was "authoritative myth" like the wolves suckling Remus and Romulus.
Flurrys stone however has only come to prominence because of the mad associations of a cult leader going bezerk in an increasing tempo.
The only authority establishing "authority" to his disociative storytelling is Flurry himself. It cannot be crosschecked anymore.
It is true cause flurry said so. At least HWA was imbedded in checks and balances of established (protestant fundamentalist) biblical secure culture. HWA claimed, we are a peculiar people BUT NOT BY OUR ODD BEHAVIOR or weaeing of peculiar bonnets and hats..... Flurry seems to thrive even encourage the most extreme of peculiarities. (although I wouldnt trust Pack to look after my wallet)

Does anyone have any idea how the members of the PCG are reacting to these new teachings? What's the atmosphere like? Do many feel as if they are at a family reunion and an elderly relative is showing increasing signs of dementia, but no one wants to acknowledge that they notice it?
ReplyDeleteBack in the ‘70s, after the sermon in Pasadena changing the day for Pentecost to Sunday, people just stood around in their odd 1940s style sabbath clothes, discussed the “new truth” and adjusted. Even the people who were on their way out at that time would err on the side of caution. They would have nagging counter-doubts about “Hey, what if Mr. Armstrong actually is God’s Apostle?” They would refrain from playing hardball.
DeleteFor people whose entire existence past, present and future, is tied up in one of these cults, these new teachings won’t even put them into decision-making mode. They’ll just go with it. They’ve already been operating without second opinions in some cases for decades.
During the HWA era, members believed that the Holy Spirit immunized “God’s Apostle” against dementia. In the legal field, if a district attorney or a judge commited a disbarment-worthy offense, all past cases they were involved in are suddenly subject to question and review. Due process. It is a nightmare! However, even when HWA’s chosen successor, Joseph Tkach, did what he did, nobody even hinted at such a review of HWA’s decisions over previous months and years. Despite there having been grave errors in judgment, he remained for them pure as the driven snow. Amongst the stalwarts, everything got spun in such a manner as to preserve HWA’s legacy.

The best use of PCG tithe money would be for Gerald to attend the Amen Clinic for a brain scan and a treatment plan. Seriously
ReplyDeleteWhy the fuck is it a cave? Why not a Hilton?
ReplyDeleteWe were kinda dumb back there in the 60's and 70's, but I can't for the life of me fathom this blind acceptance of such drivel today. Most of the guys and gals I worked and associated with began to wise up by 1974. I was one of the first to make a clean break, quit tithing, quit attending and look elsewhere for something a bit more sane. It took some time to realize that I didn't need any organization to guide me and even longer to conclude I didn't need some made up god or a totally spurious holy book either. The power of deception is totally amazing.
ReplyDeleteByker Bob said, "The good news for these ACOgs is that they have each shrunken and splintered to more convenient sizes, making the logistics of a place of safety believably marketable".
ReplyDeleteMY COMMENT - Excellent point. When we were in the WCG in the early 1970s, we were lead to believe a couple of conflicting speculations about the Petra Place of Safety - one was that possibly 144,000 would be taken (Revelation 7:4, Luke 12:32). The other was 50% of the Church would be taken (Matt 24:40 - Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left).
The conflict in speculation came because the Church topped out at 150,000, at best. By the time of the second 19-year time cycle came to fruition in 1972 in Prophecy, the WCG would have had to double in size to meet the 50% (144,000) of the Church being taken to Petra Place of Safety.
Regardless of the conflict in speculation, we believed the number of people being taken would constitute a population of a small to medium sized City. The logistics and the size of 144,000 people suddenly appearing in the Petra dessert would not go unnoticed by "the world".
However, Byker Bob's point now introduces, in my mind, a new conflicting ACOG speculation in the long-standing Place of Safety doctrine (it is a doctrine in Armstrongism). All of these splintered slivers claim to be the one and only true Philadelphia era remnant. Everyone else is Laodicean. Armstrong taught Laodiceans would go through the Great Tribulation while the Philadelphians were taken to a Place of Safety. My question would be, who do all these splintered slivers believe are the 144,000 since any one splintered competing ACOG would be no more than 7,000 people (at best). How many people do they now believe will go to a Place of Safety? 50% of their small splintered sliver?
Of course, all of this is mental bubble gum to pass the time on a Saturday night, but I am sure the "almost arrested doubly blessed Prophet" Dr. Bob Thiel has the answer. Let's hear some prophecy on the Place of Safety belief from the COG's official Prophet.
Richard
Bob, for some reason, changed the title of his long running article "There is a Place of Safety for the Philadelphians. Why it May Be Petra" to "...Why it May Be Near Petra".
DeleteAnd what's wrong with living in a cave. I'II have you know that some of my best friends live in a cave.

I wonder how the pcg'ers are reacting to the POS being moved from Petra to Abdullam. I suppose they will fall for it as new revelation. How will they get 10000 in that cave is it that big?

ReplyDeleteThere are probably lots of theories in existence by now. I've seen where one individual wrote that the 144,000 would include OT and NT people beginning with the likes of e.g. Abel, Enoch, Noah...prophets, members of God's Church mentioned in the Book of Acts down to people in our day.
I've seen where others believe the 144,000 only include people from Jesus Christ on, over the past approximately 2000 years of God's Church, of individuals foreknown and predestinated by God (Romans 8:29-30); however, most of the 144,000 are currently sleeping awaiting the first resurrection, implying that some "few" will go to some place in the wilderness, somehow "magically" protected from Satan's face, while whatever makes up laodiceans will support, back-up, some 2 witnesses until they are murdered.
Which makes up the largest church (Rev 1-3)? Philadelphia or Laodiceans? I don't know, but I suspect it may be the Laodiceans. Does it matter? To God is does, but there may not be all that many left of the 144,000 to be sealed as Firstfruits.
Some say that hindsight is 20:20, but time will tell...
John
As some may have expected, a battle royale ensues as the king is challenged by a pretender and keep of the true place of safety.
ReplyDeleteThis is all assuming that Flurry knows that Abdullam and Petra are two separate places and that he isnt using one name as a synonym for the other.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, Adullam's probably not the tourist trap Petra is now, maybe it was necessary to find a substitute by now.
Here's another theory on the 144,000. It says somewhere in that book, "the last shall be first and the first shall be last". Maybe it all starts with the last generation. The ones that lived through the worst and biggest mess that every ancestor before them contributed to, then works backwards through time order. In healing, forgiveness, and learning the right way.
ReplyDeleteBeing carried on the wings of an eagle to a place of safety in the old testament was the Israelites walking out of Egypt on their two legs. I think speculating where a so-called place of safety might be is wasted time and energy. How much fear did folks live with daily looking at bags packed and piled by the door? Why would they pack one unless they carried it with them everywhere they went? Doesn't that book also say something about if you're on the housetop don't go down to get your coat or something like that?
I think Gerald will eventually change the place of safety to Robbers Cave State Park, since he is now unfettered from reality. He will say that not everyone has to actually be IN the cave and that most of his people can camp out in the park. It is about 7 square miles. They can even go down there and have practice camp outs and maybe do some volunteer work to improve the park to make it ready for them. Based on some online comments, the park seems to be overrun with poison oak and is in poor condition now. Also, toilet paper is in short supply at the restrooms.
ReplyDeleteNew apostle, new prophet, new stone, new king, new place of safety. You're welcome, Gerald.
Wasnt that the backstory of Poltergeist 2? :)
