Exposing the underbelly of Armstrongism in all of its wacky glory! Nothing you read here is made up. What you read here is the up to date face of Herbert W Armstrong's legacy. It's the gritty and dirty behind the scenes look at Armstrongism as you have never seen it before!
With all the new crazy self-appointed Chief Overseers, Apostles, Prophets, Pharisees, legalists, and outright liars leading various Churches of God today, it is important to hold these agents of deception accountable.
Herbert Armstrong's Tangled Web of Corrupt Leaders
I had gone over to a friend's house. I was not aware they were serving pork chops. I did not want to offend the hosts. I ate the pork chops. It was good, but I felt absolutely ridden with guilt because I ate a pork chop.
Nothing happened. I did not go to the hospital. I did not get sick. The pork entered the body, and exited the body. I did not get struck by a bolt of lightning. Nor did the ingestion of pork cause some sort of strange and weird illness. It was physical food.
It was the one, and the only time, that I ate pork under HWA's tenure as Pastor General in the WCG. But I no longer feared it. Those in Bible days DID have to fear it, because it could not be processed like it is processed now - and was literally unsafe.
I eat mainly a chicken/turkey/fish diet now, because I know this is the best food to maintain good cholesterol and to keep the arteries as clear as possible. I avoid red meat and white meat. I do so because both red meat and white meat have high fat content. I also noticed red meat makes me tired whereas pork meat did not.
There are those in the COG's with the most rotten, ugly attitudes possible who flip out over a link of pork sausage. And there are people in the world who live a life of service and love to man and God who have no problems eating a pork chop. People who esteem a physical command given to Israel over a spiritual command given by Christ make up the vast majority of the COG's. The first thing Christ is going to ask you about isn't going to be about that pork sausage link you ate in 1977. If you think it is, you haven't read Matthew 25.
It is not so much the eating of pork, its the deception i have a problem with. Everyone has freedom of choice to live the way they want. It is the deception, the double standards involved, pretending they dont eat unclean meats whilst all along behind closed doors they are.
Every now and then this "I served Bob Thiel pork" guy pops up I chuckle. His claim to fame makes my day. I would find it even funnier if today this guy is some important "city councillor", "manager at an insurance company", or "business owner" and only comes here once every two months two reaffirm his claim. If it were a woman I could fall in love with that personality type (if she is as good in making apple pie as serving pork to the overzealous")
To this day I never ate "unclean" food on purpose. I guess one day I would like to see St Peter face at heavens gate with this extreme puzzled look on his face, asking........Why..........nck?
I think it is kind of Dennis to admonish the "I served pork' person. Personally I don't hold this person against any measure of christianity. I just find it very funny. As in the funniest things are sinful.
What would be totally inappropriat is if a dormmate during sep kitchenservice puts his foot in the juice bowl before serving 500 campers and staff making 80% percent sick the next day.
That's why I often laugh about the "paddle" stories since I know many rascals had them coming, although I have come to apreciate the truth of parental abuse, still I have different memory.
I ate pork before HWA kicked the bucket. lol
ReplyDeleteSo did I.

Bob Thiel had pork too while he was in LCG. I deliberately served the pork-laden product to him. He has no idea how despised he was in LCG.

More likely to be a woman. Carn't imagine a man serving food to another man in LCG except at a manly barbeque setting.
Delete852 That was inappropriate and I'd not brag about that. Love is kind and all that...
