HWA Had No IDEA What the Future Would Bring
Ambassador College Correpsondance Course Lesson 10, 1956
beware, it is Written the least will become the greatest...
i think it fitting that in our current state of humiliation, we sons of ham will one day find out that God the Father of all is also dark in appearance, as is alluded to in Revelation 4...
Well, it’s going to be down into 60 degree temps next week here in my locale. That’s getting pretty cold! Cold weather is chili weather (pun most definitely intended!) So, tonight I’m making up a big batch of Carol Shelby’s Original Texas Chili! Problem is, I’d like to share the by-products of the chili with a local ACOG congregation. My preference would be an RCG or PCG Bible Study, perhaps Wednesday evening. Anyone have a list of addresses for their meeting places? I’ve got an old double breasted suit, and a KJV Bible and briefcase, and know where I can pick up some lace oxfords on the cheap. Do PCG and RCG allow beards???
King Gerald Flurry now has a beard. Pretty soon he will be wearing robes and pretending to be a prophet. Oh wait, he is already doing one of those things...
The concept was believed by millions including those black people taught by missionaries.
HWA established a school with Kenyatta. So he either believed that it had been fulfilled but did not need to remain so.
OR the reason for the school was the introduction of yet another subjugating culture, the americam empire to fill in for the collapsing british empire. OR hwa was an agent against communism for the american empire.
I believe all three. HWA's racism was classic 19th century racism of the upper class trying to do good and liberate through education. Not the lower class racism that existed to continue status quo.
Today the former upper class racism is deemed low class. But in that sense all our ancestors were mysoginist, racist, violent illiterates and our generation the pinnacle of sophistication.
(all through the sophisticating power of taking half of the worlds wealth as a blessing unto ourselves and have the other work in the mines and fields for our benefit, so bi works)
NCK, can you provide more information on the school HWA established with Kenyatta? I was in the WCG in Kenya all through the 80s until mid 90's and I for sure never heard of a school. Granted, Kenyatta was already dead by then and HWA died at the midpoint of my time there. There are several schools in Kenya that carry the name of Kenyatta or his family: it would be good to know which one HWA stuck his grubby little fingers into.
First let me apologize for my 6:56 posting. I live under the impression that this blog is only visited by mzungu. The harsh tone of my posting would have been moderated to be more respectful toward you.
WCG (as I prefer) for being accused of being a hwa apologist, helped establish some schools "self help" to reduce illiteracy, on from the seventies.
One of those efforts got the "samurai" friends of the church involved who coordinated a grant of 29 million dollars toward that school. That is now the respected Jomo Kenyatta University of agriculture and technology.
I have fiercely rejected the notion on this blog that wcg did not also have a positive lasting legacy. Many more of wcg supporting efforts have grown into national and international treasures for knowledge l, science and cooperation.
People have mistaken that for being a hwa apologist. My point is merely that most non of the members like yourself really knows the full scale of the work or what some little projects have grown into.
I reject the notion that all we did has come to nought. Even if even at the time we were not aware of what we also did.
Once upon a time the WWildlife Fund for example was just a little start up. A wcg grant in a start up phase is as important as the millions of people who support that organisation now.
Regardless of how non-sensical the generations of Noah stuff is, aren't christians supposed to be servants anyway? Didn't their Jesus allegedly live a life of serving and the solemn passover foot washing was supposed to remind us of this? If that be the case, then the sons of Ham already had a head-start into the kingdom.
I agree with you that HWA, WCG and even some of the off-shoots have had some level of positive influence on different people. For those who disagree, just look at yourself: you are who you are today because of the experiences you had as part of Armstrongism. Being part of that organization helped form things as you current BS-meter such that today, you can easily spot similar scammers.
Ok, back to the school Armstrong claims to have founded. I am very familiar with JKUAT and I was actually surprised when you mentioned it. I have read some of what HWA wrote about his visit and also read about what the school's historical records claim.
From searching around, I could only find the PCG's account on this claim to founding the school (https://www.thetrumpet.com/10046-herbert-w-armstrong-co-founder-of-kenyan-university-of-agriculture-and-technology) Here is where they quote HWA claim as to why he qualifies to be a founder:
“And then those congressmen in the Diet of Japan who consider themselves my Japanese sons, as they call themselves. There were eight originally, and now there are about 15 who call themselves my Japanese sons; we have a lot of fun about that. But they got busy in the Japanese Diet and appropriated about 29 million United States dollars, or the equivalent in Japanese yen, for that college.” “And now it is the Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology. And they built quite a college there. With 29 million dollars, they’ve been able to build quite a college. And they gave me quite a plaque, all carved in copper, as co-founder with President Kenyatta of that college. And it is quite a plant; they have many buildings, all new. They are not quite of the caliber of the buildings that we have here on the Ambassador College campus, but they are new. They are ultra-modern. They are very good. They are less costly in construction. But they have an auditorium; they have an administration building; they have a big science hall; they have a big home ec hall for women. They have greenhouses with all kinds of plants and things growing, because it is an agricultural college as well as mechanical. And they even have an athletic track, and they have many things. I was given quite a welcome there and presented with, as I said, quite a plaque”.
From my understanding, HWA claims that his Japanese friends provided the money to start the school and HWA got a plaque. I know many other schools and institues that continue to get funded by the Japan International Coperation Agency (https://www.jica.go.jp/english/)
From other claims HWA has made, I have learnt to be very cautious with him. Not sure how some members of the Japanese Diet being influential in getting their government to donate money makes HWA a founder of a school. Can someone help me understand that? No wonder PCG has butt-hurt that HWA is not remembered in founding the school. I know for a fact that JICA is continuously remembered for its role in starting up and continuing JKUAT.
It requires an academic paper to understand Japans diplomatic efforts to regain status after WWII. Japan had no real experience in dealing with international diplomacy before and wallowed in shame after WWII. This was not apropriate for an industrialuzed nation depending on foreign markets.
If you follow the flypath of the GII you can begin to understand what hwas work encompassed.
Dilletants speak badly about 10000 dollar firstclass tickets we provided for judges of the world court to court japan to join. Today this court solves many problems unbeknownst to the common man. The judge from India was instrumental in brokering this deal. This is important in light of the dissenting indian opinion at the tokyo war crimes trial. Who else could have done this. And the little nimkompoops conplain about wcg providing for plane tickets during the lobbying process.
Now before I explode in anger on the small mindedness of dissenters I will briefly explain the 29 million grant.
Jomo Kenyatta and HWA shared a belief that people should be helped that help themselves. Conbined with a japan desperately seeking aproval AND foreign markets one can comprehend that if you teach people to use japanese machines, they might just buy them. So it was a win win situation.
Now all of this is just a technical and financial explanation of the founding process. The fact that a man like jomo kenyatta years after the fact acknowledged wcg/hwas contribution through the bronze plaque proofs that kenyatta was a man completely unlike my managers and gives credit where credit is due and recognizes that to make dreams come true 29 million is a necessary sum but without imagination and inspiration dreams never come true.
Today the Chinese work along the same philosophy of give before receiving and spend billiom both in africa and the eurasian belt road initiative.
The Japanese sons were also flown to Quwait. It is appropriate to know at the day george bush is laid to rest that it was Japan not the USA that paid for the liberation of kuwait from iraqi occupation. Other routes for the samurai led to south africa for nuclear cooperation and south america for agriculture.
One should note the real power structure in japan. Not the semi democracy imposed bu the usa. The japanese sons were members of influential clans and not surprisingly quite a few of them became prime ministersnor influential government ministers at later age.

C f ben yochanan, you are in for a BIG surprise!!!
ReplyDeleteWas this what HWA thought when he had a photo op with Jomo Kenyatta? How about Bob Thiel and most those he "ordained" in his "church"?
ReplyDeleteI believe the "Sons of Ham" concept is baloney
