Welcome to the Place of Safety

submitted by SHT

The moment when all the COG leaders who claim exclusive rights to the place of safety all arrive at the same time.

  1. I need a "Place Of Safety" to protect from the "Place of Safety"!

  2. My place of safety is where ever I am. I am safe. When it is my time to go, then it’s my time to go. I don’t worry about “being protected from the tribulation” because the Holy Spirit has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” I believe Him. As long as He is in me and I in Him, I am safe. Death is just a transition from one place to another. That is what I believe. I do not fear the tribulation or death.

  3. With his teachings about the Place of Safety, HWA looked to the physical rather than the spiritual, as was so typical of him. Even if there were a physical "Place of Safety" it would not provide the spiritual protection that a Christian needs. Just as the ACOG home offices are the biggest hotbeds of carnality and outright sin, with so many ACOG bigwigs in close proximity, so too would the Place of Safety become filled with sin quickly... but with the members much closer to the harmful influence than is now the case for most.

Christians understand that when you are in the arms of Jesus Christ, you are in the only Place of Safety that really matters.

  4. The place of safety will be a war zone when Mr. Thiel, Mr. Pack, Mr. Weinland, Mr. Malm, and every other minister gets there. "I am in charge, no I am." There will be dozens of two witnesses nuking each other. Besides not one of them would survive one night sleeping on a rock.

  5. I would never refer to any of these cult leaders as “Mr”. They don’t deserve the respect the title holds.

  6. If anyone I know would say, "goodbye, I'm going to the place of safety", I would tell them that they are crazy and then I would say "I'll see you when you get back, if you survive".

  7. I remember GTA got slammed once for saying God could protect you anywhere.

  9. The place of safety being wherever you are puts your safety in God's hands rather than in the hands of Pavlovian ministers who fancy themselves as the gatekeepers. Your ACOG leader's head is so far into the Old Testament that he will probably reinstitute stonings in his place of "safety". They'll probably also do an ethnic cleanse, expelling all "non-Israelites" into the desert. You'll be better off taking your chances with the hypothetical Germans.

Somebody ought to volunteer to clean up after the ministers after a church social, to capture some of their DNA and send it off for testing. It would be quite be an eye-opener for Gerald Weston to find out about his 5% Negro ancestry, for Gerald Flurry to discover that he is more Native American and less Israelite than Elizabeth Warren, and for Vic Kubik to learn that he is 3% Neanderthal, a circumstance his theology deems impossible.

    1. Awesome! There we have it! An invitation for sanctuary from an official German. I told all of you ACOG people you’d be better off with the Germans than with Flurry, Pack et all!

  12. In the Church of God (International) we do NOT believe in the "going to place of safety" doctrine.

  13. Leaving aside who may go there, (as no one knows), typology suggests that there will be a place of safety:

1Ki 18:3 And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly:
1Ki 18:4 For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)

The time of Elijah the Tishbite (1 Kings 17:1) provides a type for the time of Elijah the prophet (Malachi 4:4), the antitype.

From the typology of Kings, Jeroboam-instituted worship of the northern kingdom pictures Sunday-keepers and the Moses-instituted worship of the southern kingdom pictures Sabbath-keepers.

1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Both kingdoms went into captivity and both Sunday-keepers and Sabbath-keepers will go into tribulation.

Rev 5:6 ... a Lamb ... having seven horns and seven eyes,
Rev 13:1 ... a beast ... having seven heads and ten horns,

Rev 5:6 a Lamb standing, as [hos] having been slain [esphagmenen],
Rev 13:3 one of its heads, as [hos] having been slain [esphagmenen] to death (IHEGB).

Rev 2:8 ... the First and the Last, who became dead, and lived [ezesen]:
Rev 13:14 ... the beast who has the wound of the sword, and lived [ezesen]. (IHEGB).

"In John's description of the beast, there are numerous parallels with Jesus that should alert the reader to the fact that John is seeking to establish...a theological characterization...: Both wielded swords; both had followers on whose foreheads were inscribed their names (13:16-14:1); both had horns (5:6; 13:1); both were slain, the same Greek word being used to describe their deaths (sphagizo, vv.3,8); both had arisen to new life and authority; and both were given (by different authorities) power over every nation, tribe, people, and tongue as well as over kings of the earth (1:5; 7:9; with 13:7; 17:12). The beast described here is the great theological counterpart to all that Christ represents..." (Alan F. Johnson, Revelation, Expositor's Bible Commentary, Vol. 12, p. 527).

Baal-worship instituted by Jezebel pictures the religious system set up by the false prophet to worship the resurrected Antichrist - just after the beginning of the Tribulation/Jacob’s trouble.

Heb 8:4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
Mk 15:2 “Are you the king of the Jews?” asked Pilate. “Yes, it is as you say,” Jesus replied (NIV)..

The Antichrist is the person who opposes Christ as Christ. The Antichrist is a royal figure not a priest/religious leader.

As an aside, one thing that I have noticed over the years, with some hyperbole, is that when there is a choice between a right and a wrong interpretation, the COGs have the habit of deciding for the wrong one.

There was no place of safety for the women, when GTA was around.

Christian values can't be destroyed with the sword, at least not in the near term. It's religious deception that's most effective in altering or destroying peoples religious beliefs. This strongly implies that the Antichrist will be a religious rather than a secular leader.
