Exposing the underbelly of Armstrongism in all of its wacky glory! Nothing you read here is made up. What you read here is the up to date face of Herbert W Armstrong's legacy. It's the gritty and dirty behind the scenes look at Armstrongism as you have never seen it before!
With all the new crazy self-appointed Chief Overseers, Apostles, Prophets, Pharisees, legalists, and outright liars leading various Churches of God today, it is important to hold these agents of deception accountable.
Herbert Armstrong's Tangled Web of Corrupt Leaders
Rather than helping anyone, or supporting the truth, or going to a place of safety, or getting saved, all that happens when one supports the COG false prophets is that one becomes an accomplice of those lying thieves. This does not look good on one's life record.
I attend with a cog group regularly. I engage with them. I show them respect and dignity and make a point to bring up doctrinal errors in a way that is not attacking or accusatory.
People are starting to take what I say seriously. And all I do is quote the bible. Not much more.
Its sad when the leaders of this blog denegrate and vilify everyday people because they just don't understand what they do. It reminds me of old wcg whete everyone else was deceived but good thing thing we aren't!
This blog is needed but it really needs to be the actual good guys to win this battle not just claim the stays of the good guys.
Mr. Pack's, Mr. Weinland's, amd Mr. Flurry's entire congregation should walk out just once during a sermon and see the reaction of the ministers. In one second, you would see they are godly men or lunatics. Without your $$$ they would be lower class citizens without the ability to fend for themselves. Their power over you is just what you give them. How many false prophecies and self given titles do they have to do before you realize they do not know what they are talking about.
None do that I know of. I only talk with individuals. And if you only use the commandments and the bible and speak pleasantly and also admit your own errors people will listen.
Anonymous said: Its sad when the leaders of this blog denegrate and vilify everyday people because they just don't understand what they do. I agree with what was pointed out. I would have maintained a relationship with a local group, but am too old and have to many personal family relationships to work with to spend time in a church congregation relationship. Since all of my families are Christian believers I do not need to spend time proving the biblical value as a supporting source for living a life that God accepts. What seems to be the focus on this blog has no value in building what I consider as Christian relationships. ASB
You make a good point about choosing to live with people going the same way you are. And I have my limits with thw congregations I attend with. But god is patient and I consider what I am doing for a couple hours a week to be a good thing. I really want the people in the congregations to see the truth avout everything from tithing to the primacy of peter falacy. It will free them.
But if they make it clear some day they don't want to talk anymore... Then its time to move on. But I've made progress already so who knows....
I also attend a COG (United) and this broad brush of hatred for all COGs is not warranted. Yes, WWCG was cultish and did preach fear religion talking about what will happen in the "next 4 to 5 years". The lesson was learned and this doesn't happen anymore. There'd no Waterhouse going around screaming at congregations about missing their 747'S going to Petra. United is not perfect, as all New Testament Churches had their problems. But it's far better than being Catholic or Protestant.
I agree. UCG has its issues but so does every group. God will reveal the leaders sins eventually, if there are any. I have family in UCG and I would no sooner condemn them than an atheist.
7:30, really. I a few minutes, I'll be going down to a church here in Cottonwood and getting vital food help that makes our SS stretch. They ask no questions about religious affiliation, etc. Everybody is helped if their income is low enough. In my opinion, all the splinters of WCG are no better than many protestant churches and certainly aa whole lot less compassionate toward their fellow humans. Just because they keep a "Sabbath" that commemorates a non-existent creation doesn't make them special. They might even hand out some pork today. Good protein.
This is one of the great failures of the cogs... Lack if compassion. But the only way to fix this is with compassion and you can't do that from one side of your mouth and spit venom from the other and expect good results.
Otherwise you may find yourself a hypocrite and your one day a week of being compassionate becomes meaningless.
Anon 7:30 You said you attended United COG. You said the WWCOG used to preach fear religion talking about what will happen in the “next 4 to 5 years.” “ the lesson was learned we don’t do that anymore.” A week ago a post spoke about the new tv studios United had built. Two of the first messages to be broadcast, “Are we living ing the last days. And 4 horsemen of the apocalypse.” No one knows what tomorrow will bring! Why would United preach “Are we living in the end time”. It is hype to keep people tithing. “ The end is near and we must reach this world with the kingdom of god message. They will say we don’t know but world events certainly look like things are speeding up..... I don’t hate UCG. I know a lot of good people in United, I know several ministers in United that are fine men. All of these splinter groups are built on the foundation of Armstrongism. That is what the first meeting in Cincinnati was all about. It was to form a church that would carry on the doctrines of WCG.
Most of us that post here simply say, think for yourself.
Several people have attacked Dennis for posting things that go contrary to what many have been taught. I will throw out a challenge. Pick one subject Dennis has written about. Show with facts where he is wrong. Take him on, show us where he is wrong. For example Dennis has said that the gospels may not have been written br Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. Show us with facts who Matthew was, tell us when the book of Matthew was written. Do the same with Mark, Luke and John. Make Dennis eat crow, The gospels state the genealogy of Jesus back to king David. I understand that Dennis does not believe the genealogy of Jesus goes back to king David. Please start with Jesus and list he genealogy one by one back to king David. Hint you can find it in the gospels.

I agree that the COGs have always been lacking in reaching out to help the public, which why our United church donates food each month to the local Food Bank. Another United church I've attended runs a "Soup Kitchen" once a month. I will be retiring soon and planning to volunteer at the local battered women's shelter.
This is good news. If any of the cogs turn things around will this blog sing praises? I hope so, otherwise the vitriol spread will be the bed they will lie in.
"Mr. Pack's, Mr. Weinland's, amd Mr. Flurry's entire congregation should walk out just once during a sermon and see the reaction of the ministers. Well said and so very true, the only power these false prophets have is what we give them! Sadly, I know this from my own personal experience. Great advice, get up and walk out and never look back. I have ruined my life by giving my power to Dave Pack for a number of years. There are no "do overs" - if there were, I would grab that option in a heartbeat!
But, don't despair if you are in one of these horrible cults, just take your power back by leaving and reclaim your life!
Being a part of a cult is brutal and teaches many life lessons the hard way. But, recovery is healing and the life you are left with is you own. I am a lot poorer financially, but have a peace of mind that Dave Pack cannot take from me.I only hope others can learn from my mistake before their lives are devastated as well.
I pray for brethren trapped in these organizations. You can do it too! Listen to your gut feelings. If you are sitting in services and your stomach feels like it is twisted in a knot because you do not believe what you are hearing....that is your sign to stand up, collect your belongings, leave and never look back - you have escaped!!
I am glad to hear that some United churches are doing something for the local community. Good on them. What are the areas that are doing this. I am really glad that they are doing these things. Jim
" it's far better than being Catholic or Protestant. "
This is a perfect example of that air of superiority that seems to permeate Armstrongism. It's not about what you are, it's about Who you know and reflect. There are MANY Protestants and Catholics who act 100x better in faith and in action than some Armstrongites act on their best days, believe me.
3.35 PM So true. ACOG members believe they are inherently superior to other churches because they have all these 'restored truths.' A trait of these supposed restored truths is that they have zero relevance to everyday living. They are intellectual fluff. They also focus members minds away from the fact that they are being deliberately fed diluted spiritual milk in order to maintain minister power and superiority. They get a poor return for their tithe money.
Unfortunately many people who successfully escape a cog turn around and behave the same way. This blog is full of comments and stories claiming superiority over the cogs. Pot kettle.
So now, even this website is blaming the brethren for false teachers.
Sheeesssh. Enough already.
Are not the false teachers a curse from God for all the idolatry of the past ? We were meant to worship God, but we worshipped a man who talked about God.
Not only did we worship a man, we worshipped a church organization, a church college, and an unbiblical ministerial class.
Idolatry plain and simple. I finally realized this 25 years ago and determined never to do it again.
Until a person realizes that was the problem in the WCG all along, and long before the Tkachs, they'll never understand what really occurred to the WCG cult.
I am glad to hear that some United churches are doing something for the local community. Good on them. What are the areas that are doing this. I am really glad that they are doing these things. Jim

Do not fund the Flurry of “new revelation” about worshipping That False Prophet with the many titles that he obtained through identity theft. Do not support heresy, family wrecking, and sexual immorality. Demand that he repent.
Do not pay the Pack of lies to make up endless “first dominion” nonsense and build himself a cult compound. Do not reward the cruel betrayal of his doctrinal Bait & Switch scam. Do not become destitute.
Do not pick up the tab for Weinland's travelling, shopping, and dining out. Do not pay for his prophetic fantasy fiction books. Insist on true, non-fiction teachings.
Do not financially enable Thiel to “think in terms that are not realistic,” and live off of demon-inspired pagan prophecy trivia. Make him grow up mentally and spiritually.
Don’t feed the fear! Like the news media these fearmongering false prophets need to fade away. In time their falsehood will be brought to a finish Matthew 15:13-14.
Their livelihoods are built on the acceptance of lies by those they deceive.
