Kevin Dean Pleads Guilty: "... Dean previously told investigators that he “did things he shouldn’t have done” with the victim "

Fugitive child molester pleads guilty to 11 counts

A Kennesaw man who fled a Bartow County courtroom in 2012 — and has been on the lam for approximately seven years — entered a negotiated plea of guilty to 11 charges Tuesday morning.
Georgia Superior Court Senior Judge Shepherd L. Howell sentenced Kevin Owen Dean, 68, to 40 years for nearly half a dozen offenses, for which he will spend the first 20 years in prison and the remainder on probation.
“We had this case set back for a non-jury trial seven years ago in front of Judge D. Scott Smith,” said Cherokee Judicial Circuit Senior Assistant District Attorney Sharon Fox. “On the day of the trial, the defendant did not appear. I have spent years tracking Mr. Dean through multiple countries, in cooperation with Interpol and the United States Marshals Service.”
According to Fox, the defendant was arrested in Mexico. “He had a driver’s license and a false name and was recently brought back to the United States to face these charges,” she said.
Prosecutors said Dean molested his step-granddaughter — who was under the age of 16 at the time of the offenses — at both his Cobb County residence and place of business, Imperial Medical Technologies, in Cartersville.
Dean was originally charged with two counts of aggravated child molestation and two counts of aggravated sexual battery — which were reduced to the lesser included offenses of child molestation and sexual battery of a minor. He entered a plea of guilty to those four charges in Bartow Superior Court Tuesday, as well as six additional counts of child molestation and one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
In court, Dean pleaded guilty to touching the breasts, genitals and buttocks of the victim, as well as showing her explicit sexual material, performing a lewd act in front of her and penetrating her with a foreign object.
Dean entered an “Alford plea” for all 11 charges — meaning that the defendant did not technically admit to committing the crimes in court, but nonetheless pleaded guilty due to the prosecution having sufficient evidence to likely garner a conviction during a trial.
He received a 20-year sentence on the first count of child molestation, with a concurrent 20-year sentence for the second count of child molestation and two concurrent five-year sentences for the two counts of sexual battery on a minor. Dean received a consecutive 20-year sentence for the third count of child molestation, for which he received concurrent 20-year sentences for the remaining five child molestation counts and one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
Fox said the victim, who is now an adult, is in agreement with the State’s recommended sentencing.
“Had it gone to trial, the State was also prepared to argue life,” Fox said. Per Bartow Superior Court documents, Dean faced a maximum quadruple life sentence for the offenses, plus an additional 130 years.
A bill of indictment indicates the offenses occurred between June 1, 2008, and Jan. 20, 2010. Fox said Dean previously told investigators that he “did things he shouldn’t have done” with the victim.
“He acknowledged that she saw the porn on the internet and that she had seen his penis,” Fox said. “He also wrapped his penis in Saran Wrap and had her engage in oral sex on him. He masturbated in front of her and told her he would go to jail if she told.”
The victim, Fox said, told authorities the defendant would fondle her on rides to and from his Cartersville-based business. She said she anticipates more charges to follow for Dean in other jurisdictions.
“I’ve been in touch with the Cobb County prosecutor’s office and they have docketed it pending his return to the United States,” Fox said. “It’s my understanding they’re going to pursue charges against him there as well.”
Pending Dean is released from prison, Fox said the defendant is subject to numerous sex offender probation conditions.
“I’ve marked that the credit for time served to be determined by the custodian because I wanted to make sure that he did get credit for the time coming out of Mexico and the State of Texas,” she said. “I know the court customarily waives the driving charges, but because in this rare case some of the incidents occurred while they were driving, I do want to include those in his special conditions. I also want to make sure the internet conditions are there, because a lot of the sexual material had been downloaded.”
Fox said Dean may possibly face additional child sexual abuse charges in other states.
“The State has served notice of similar transactions involving a conviction for two counts of lewd and lascivious acts against a child under 16 in Pinellas County, Florida,” she said, “as well as two additional similar transaction victims … that came forward and are willing to testify to similar acts committed against them when they were minors.”

  3. So he's still saying he didn't do any of the things he's charged with, but he's not likely to convince a judge/jury because of the evidence against him. Wow, facing a potential quadruple life sentence + 130 years for something you didn't do must be soul-crushing!

It is written in court documents that Dean is NEVER to contact me or the other EVER in our lifetimes.

  6. Why would Sam Kitchen defend Kevin Dean in the first place? Is Kevin Dean still an ACOG member?

  7. It's pretty hypocritical for progressives to bitch about Dean, given that everything they support is taking society in Dean's direction. That's why Lennin called them useful idiots.

  8. People are saying that I defended his actions? I said I would never condone and support heinous deeds and sin. But due to lack of evidence, and facts, why believe the worse? Sufficient evidence and the truth is what I search for. Any one who would rise up against another before that person is proved guilty or innocent, just to spin the story, is something I am against.
That sort of attitude is evil.
Kevin Dean is in my prayers still however. Hate the sin, love the sinner.

    1. Damn! What do you need?, a video of the acts? Preponderance of evidence and any Reasonable person can understand the truth. And the man fled and now admits he did things he shouldn’t have done. But I’m not surprised that you can’t figure out what’s for real. Your religious beliefs make it clear that you don’t get it. Duh!!!!

  9. And I was told they would put in the "Alford Plea" according to biblical command to agree with your enemy quickly and not to fight it.

  10. And like the Bible says, if a sinner REPENTS even the angels in heaven rejoice. So if guilty, pray for his repentance. If he REPENTS then I rejoice. That's the type of attitude I want to keep even with my enemies.

  11. Perspective on “hate the sin, love the sinner” - Part 1

Ps 5:5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight:
thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

“Psalms 5:5. The Lord hates All Who Do Wrong?

“How can a God of love and mercy be categorized as one who hates? Yet this verse (as well as Psalms 11:5) clearly affirms that God hates wrongdoers, the wicked and all who love violence...” (Walter C. Kaiser Jr., Peter H. Davids, F.F. Bruce, Manfreed T. Brauch, Hard Sayings of the Bible, p.263).

Isa 1:14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

“It must have been shocking and repulsive to the Israelite leaders and ordinary citizens to learn through the prophets of Yahweh that their God “hates’” their worship (Isa. 1:14; 61:18; Hos 9:15; Am 5:23; Zec 8:17; Mal 2:13; cf. Jer 12:8; 44:4). Israel’s worship was thereby reduced to the level of idolatry, which God detests. The reason for God’s hate of Israel’s sacrifices, new moons, sabbaths, et., lies in the deterioration of Israelite worship to an empty and meaningless ritual in which the worshiper engaged without inner devotion, wholehearted obedience, and complete justice in daily life. Thus God hates injustice (Isa 61:8) and those who are evildoers (Ps 5:6). Because of their wicked deeds, God will love His people no longer (Hos 9:15f.). Such vices as self-assertiveness, lying, perjury, and acts disrupting society, which are based upon a deep-seated corruption of motives, are an abomination to Yahweh which he hates (Prov 6:16-19). A list of vices hated by personified Wisdom begotten by Yahweh mentions pride, arrogance, evil conduct, and twisted speech (Prov 8:13). God’s hatred of sins is expressive of His utter abhorrence, disgusting repugnance, and vehement aversion. Thus God hates both sin and sinners, insofar as they persist in a way of life opposed to God’s will and purpose, because this rebelliousness attracts the hatred due to sin. God desires the wholehearted repentance of the sinner, but if he refuses to repent and persists in turning away from the ways of God, He is obliged in justice and love to punish and destroy (Hos 11:5-12)...

Eze 18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

Rev 2:6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

“The hate of Jesus (and the Church) for the work of the Nicolaitans in Ephesus (2:6) differentiates between the ones who work evil and their evil. Only the evil works are hated. An extension of this differentiation leads to the well-known idea of hating the sin and loving the sinner. This idea is already embedded in the OT, where God hates sin but has no pleasure in the death of the sinner, and desires only that he be converted from the ways and live (Eze 18:23)...” (G. F. Hasel, “Hate,” ISBE, Vol.2, p.631-32).

  12. Part 2

God hates the sinner in his sins but loves a sinner who turns from his sins

Ps 11:5b and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

“Does not Psalms 5:5 and 11:5 contradict the teaching that God loves the sinner but hates the sin?

“Psalm 5:5-6 reads: “For Thou art not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; no evil dwells with Thee. The boastful shall not stand before Thine eyes; Thou doest hate all who do iniquity. Thou dost destroy those who speak falsehood; the LORD abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit” (NASB). Psalm 11:5 reinforces this as follows “The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked, and the one who loves violence his soul hates” (NASB). To this may be added the often-cited passage in Malachi 1:2-3: “ ‘Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? declares the LORD. ‘Yet I have loved Jacob; but I have hated Esau, and I have made his mountains a desolation, and appointed his inheritance for the jackals of the wilderness.’ ” (NASB).

“From such passages as these we learn that God makes a difference between good and evil and between good men and evil men. Evil does not really exist in the abstract (except as a theoretical idea) but only in the evil nature and wicked deeds of ungodly mean and demons of hell. Scripture describes the wicked and immoral as those who love sinners in their defiance of God and in their contempt for His moral law. Thus the prophet Hanani rebuked even good King Jehoshaphat for his alliance with Ahab, saying, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the LORD and so bring wrath on yourself from the LORD?” (2 Chron 19:2, NASB). The apostle John warns in his first Epistle (2:15): “Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him? (NASB). We are not to love the wicked as sinners in rebellion against God, lest we become involved in their guilty ways and attitudes of mind. Therefore, we are to recognize that only Satan loves sinners in their transgression and opposition to the moral law. God does not love them in that way; rather he condemns and punishes them in His capacity as righteous Judge over all the universe.

“There is yet another aspect of God’s attitude towards sinners that reflects His unfathomable mercy and matchless grace. He so loved the wicked, sinful world that He gave His only Son, Jesus, to die as an atonement for sin. “All we like sheep have gone astray, ... but the LORD caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him” (Isa 53:6). This means that even though God opposes and hates the sinner as a co-worker with Satan and a tool of his malice, God loves reaches out in compassion and grace to all sinners everywhere, seeking to deliver them from sin by the Atonement and the New Birth, and to adopt them as His children in the family of the redeemed. Here, then, we find to our amazement that while God hates and condemns the unrepentant, unconverted sinner, yet His heart reaches out to him in mercy and love - a holy love operating through the Cross, “that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus Christ” (Rom 3:26, NASB). In other words, God is able to love the one whom He hates; but his hatred is of the sinner in his sins, and His love for the sinner who repents of his sin and puts his trust in Jesus. Why is this so? Because from the moment he sincerely turns from his wicked ways and puts his trust in Jesus, he becomes united with Christ by faith - and the Father cannot hate His Son, or anyone who is a member of His body and a temple of His Spirit” (Gleason L. Archer, Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties, pp.242-43).

  13. It is sad but in the near future pedophiles will be pitied because they were "born" that way. Thwt will rise up for rights as a protected class like gay people and demand to have recognition and support to marry children.

If you don't think this is possible go read what Barbara Streisand said about Michael Jackson's pedophilia. Or read about Hollywood starlets that think Europe is more progressive because they don't think it was such a big deal for Roman Polanski to have sex with a 13 year old girl.

Sex with kids was not a foreign topic of discussion growing up in the church and the catholics would totally support pedophiles as a protected class for no other reason than saving legal fees defending their priests.

What is really sad is atheists have no argument against pedophiles because they can't prove these people weren't born this way because they supported the idea that gay people were born that way. So they will be the first supporters of legal protections for pedophiles.

I have had too many relatives raped or molested as kids, myself included... While growing up in the church to be deluded about this. When the pedophile can scream discrimination the only ones who can stand against them will be the religious. But the atheists will have beat them down in society and it will be too late.

God have mercy on us, Rome is returning not with just tyranny but also perversions and all sorts of evil. Be strong everyone, it's only going to get worse from here. Draw close to God, repent, love your neighbor that will be your only protection.

  16. It's very interesting that some - for both unstated and untenable reasons - defend and/or want to love on Mr. Dean, who is a self-confessed child molester.

When Jesus returns, perhaps those same people would like to yank the sword from His mouth and tell Him to chill, since Herbert W. Armstrong was a child molester, too.

Like the preacher put it: “The thing that hath been, it [is that] which shall be; and that which is done [is] that which shall be done: and [there is] no new [thing] under the sun” (Ecc 1:9). Sex between adults and children have been around for millennia. I believe even Muhammad was a pedophile.

If children or teenagers have sex with each other I don’t believe they should be punished with jail sentences like in various states that might imprison an 18 yo boy for having sex with a “minor” girl aged 14 and he’s labeled a “sex offender” for the rest of his life even though the sex was consensual and the girl might even be his girlfriend. I believe the circumstances of the case need to be examined to make a sound judgment. So eg a man or woman who has sex with a child or teenager (0-20) who is old enough to be the adult’s own child or grandchild should be considered a form of pedophilia and definitely disapproved of.

Imho I believe pedophiles like homosexuals deserve the death penalty. Because our paganized society has not upheld the moral standard and boundaries set by the Bible and purged all of the evil and evildoers (eg abortion, lgbt, etc) that we’re gradually seeing the floodgates open more and more til in the end we’ll be drowning in it.

  18. On a Facebook group, there are several women who have come forwarded and said that Kevin molested them while he was at Imperial. Others talk of other abuse happening at Imperial too. It has been long known that there were several sick people in teaching and administrative positions that were sheltered and covered up for by church administration.

  19. (Moderator: if you must moderate my comments, then please do not publish them. If you choose to "moderate" beyond this paragraph, delete is all. Thanks)

I am mortified for many reasons & on many levels. The Torah commands the death penalty for this sort of evil. (I really don't care what Christian citations you cite, the NT is a fraud, please don't cite it.) I met Kevin in 1959 at Big Sandy, I was five. We lost contact when his mom remarried & they moved to Pasadena. We touched based some when I moved to CA & married my wife of 40 yrs. At that time there was something sordid about his leaving his first wife & marrying a very young girl, but I figured if her parents were okay with it, it was none of my business. At some point after I extricated myself from Armstrongism & Christianity my wife & I met him for a quick lunch at Spire's in Monrovia.

As for what happens to him now, since mankind is ignoring G-d's Noahide laws & has chosen to let a basically admitted serial molester live, I don't care. IMHO, he should not be allowed to breath based on Torah commands, that won't matter to anyone. If G-d forgives him, it will mean Kevin followed the directions found in Ezekiel 18 & will have become worthy of forgiveness, but if he does not make atonement to his victims, & they do not forgive him after his atonements, then he will face G-d's Judgment without mercy at death's door.

As for the idea someone put forward, "Hate the sin, love the sinner." Apply that to Adolf Hitler, please. Seriously, could anyone not his mom love that piece of excrement?

There is no command in The Torahs or Tanakh spewing such disgusting nonsense. (Again, I don't believe a word of the NT.) Instead of providing the justice G-d commanded to mankind thru Noah, thru Moshe' Rabbeinu & to the nation of Israel, we have an unjust judgment. It is unjust mostly to his many victims, but also to him. What this will do is leave him alive to torment his victims & not one of them will ever get past this man's harm to them.

I know something about this on a second person & on a first person level. I knew a lady who was molested & repeatedly raped when she was 12 & 13, she lived into her 90s without ever getting past the harm that man did. The hardest part was he was her sister's husband! As for the first person level, at five a female teacher at Imperial in Big Sandy insisted she check my penis for smegma; here I am 60 years later & this is the first public comment I've ever made. It won't go away because the perverted woman never had to make amends & never asked my forgiveness, & I've not forgotten.

Two Shabbats ago was the Torah Parsha of Kedoshim, found beginning with Leviticus 19, it opens with the command, "You shall be holy (Kedosh)..." & within that parshe we are told things that should apply here, specifically verse 16: "...neither shalt thou stand idly by the blood of thy neighbour: I am HaShem." To say things like, "Hate the sin, love the sinner," LITERALLY is standing by the blood (harm done) of his victims.

In conclusion, sympathy here should be for his victims, not him. He is the culpable one! Children, even when they err, are not held to the same standards as adults. What he did was wicked, evil, vile, disgusting, so to show sympathy for him is to harm his victims. Finally, this begs the query, "What did his family know & when did they know it?"

Child molesters do not fare well or live long in prison.

  20. Lisa, I do not know you, but I feel your pain. This scar will be with you all your life, even though you consciously know you did not sin, your adult mind thinks you could have somehow figured out a way out. It is important that you know G-d says this man, and I've known him for 60 years, should be dead for these crimes.

In my case I did get and still get from time to time (this may send me back for a session or two with Dr Steve) therapy not only for what was done to me at age 5, but for the general abuse my entire 12 years of Imperial, Big Sandy. We were children trying to please our elders. Interesting thing, G-d says, "Honor your father and mother," he does not say to love them. Do love the other victims, create a support group and chat online, get therapy if you need it and forgive yourself for being a victim.

May he come soon, even in our days!
