Herbert Armstrong's Tangled Web of Corrupt Leaders

The Feast is rapidly approaching and this fraudulent COG leader is expecting you to give him your hard-earned money

Where would the Church of God be without some miserable grumpy self-appointed old leader demanding more money at Feast time?  The COG Chief Pharisee, James Malm, was sitting in his lonely kitchen tonight banging away on his keyboard bemoaning the fact that no one is sending him money right now. Seriously people, get your act together!  You are supposed to financially support the man who does not do any physical work but expects you to hand over your money to keep him living comfortably.  Sadly, there will be some few that will.

12 Sep 15:00 PDT: Dear Friends, over this summer TheShiningLight has received an average of 5,000 unique visitors reading nearly 150,000 pages each month.  This COG News site receives almost the same amount of traffic.  In spite of this almost no one has remembered that your financial support is necessary to do this work.  As the Fall Festivals approach our bank balance is shrinking towards zero and we find ourselves in serious need; please consider helping us to serve you.

  1. You are so disgusting! James is doing a work of truth that no other COG leader is doing today. The church has lost its zealousness and refuses to keep the law. You will rue the day when you are held accountable for attacking God's true servant!

  3. Hey Malm... in case you haven't noticed, people will not pay for a glorified blog. Newspapers, and other print media have learned that the internet for the most part is a FREE giveaway activity, whether it be you tube, music , or information of any type. The web has truly been an amazing disrupter of the concept of "charging" for information.

Perhaps you should allow paid ads on the side of your website for beer, pretzels , and wrinkle cream!

    Dear Mr. Malm,

If you are serious about wanting to serve me, and you want to get paid for serving me, I have about two acres of lawn covered with leaves that need to be raked. I'll pay you $20/hr if you maintain a brisk pace, or $10/hr if you need to take it slowly because of your advanced age.

However, if you expect people to pay you for "news" that you copy from other websites, and for "Bible study" material that has dropped in quality ever since your consort Constance left you to become a witch, then you should consider the possibility that your bank balance is accurately reflecting the value of your website's materials.

    Sincerely,
    A Reader

  5. Thank you Banned for bringing Malm's need to my attention. He has a unique approach, and does more than just cut and paste from other sources.
    I will donate.

  6. I sent James some money a couple of times, but will no longer. Everything about him reeks of literalism and slavery to the law. Jesus was NOT concerned about the law as James thinks he sees it. He is a sad angry little man.

  7. COG False Apostle Malm said, "please consider helping us to serve you."

MY COMMENT - Reminds me of President Reagan's quote about the most feared words in the English language - "I'm from the Government and I'm here to help".

When you hear a COG False minister HWA wannabe (is he even a minister?) say, "please consider helping us to serve you", run, (don't walk) in the opposite direction. For the benefit of the mentally slower dumb tithe slave sheeple who still don't get it, it means send him money because he can't support himself and is too lazy to actually work for a living and wants YOU to financially support this HWA wannabe in his play Church hobby. Clear enough?

  8. The Apostle Paul welcomed tithes and offerings, but when he needed money he made tents. It seems that Malm, despite all his talk of zealousness, isn't zealous enough to follow the Apostle's example.

  9. James David Malm rebelliously left the Worldwide Church of God in 1985 while Herbert W. Armstrong was still alive to try to “think for himself.” Malm and those associated with him got into things that proved they cannot think anything but rebellion and nonsense, such as sacred names nonsense, divorce, calendar confusion, a garbled gospel, and even flat earth errors. James Malm and all those who go with him are crazy.

James Malm has been quite open about his hostility toward HWA and what HWA had taught. Those who go with James Malm are basically other rebels who also reject what HWA had taught. In the end, they might not like what they get for letting James Malm do their stinking thinking for them.

Now, James Malm wants people to pay him for doing their thinking for them and ruining their minds.

  10. He is in serious need.

So is everyone else who won't get a real job.

  11. I feel sorry for him. I think I'll make a donation. But only two cents. My two cents is this: Get a job like the rest of us.

  12. 11:08 Exactly which scripture says that Paul welcomed tithes? I can't seem to find it. Possibly written in pencil in the margin of your bible?

  13. Years ago when Malm was in financial straights I asked him what was so expensive about he work he was doing? He said running his sites was expensive.

I offered to host all his sites for free and he turned me down.

This was proof enough for me that he is a scammer because hosting all his sites would cost about $20 a month.

"Slavery to the law?" Try gardening sometime. Or watching gardening TV programs. There are endless rules to follow. Just like in everyday life.

  15. HWA, GTA, Malm and all the corporate groups are in the same boat and same vein: They want to control you and tell you how to think, as well as take what little money you have! We learned much in the WCG. That was then and this is now. My wife and I left organized religion in 1997 and never looked back. All of God's people are individually responsible for our own salvation, something that so many brethren have forgotten!

  17. We’re able to give to others and to assist others from our own abundance. Best path to serving humanity is to develop your strengths so that you have resources to help others. It just does not work if you give to some parasite who collects everyone else’s resources and blessings allegedly to do a work himself.

  18. BB, that is what Jesus said to do. "When I was thirsty, when I was hungry, you gave to herbie' Not!!!!

If not tithing makes anyone feel uncomfortable because of our deep indoctrination, give to St. Judes, give to Wounded Warrior, whatever, just not to those who want to control you.

  20. Translation:
"Please send me money for food and rent, so I don't have to get a real job."

Malm claims that it costs money to do this work. Wrong. Bandwidth is very cheap. Web hosting is very cheap. Computers are very cheap. A few hundred dollars would cover him for a year. Malm is talking about money for HIM. Has he issued an audit of income and expenditures? I suspect most of the money is for food / rent / transportation for him. If you want to pay for him to live, go right ahead, but I'm waiting for an honest accounting.

  21. Malms site helps many people. It mightn't do anything for the posters here, but the number of hits he receives means that it's benefitting others.

Pedro, it's not a crime for Malm to pay for rent, food, and transportation. Everyone has these expenses. The principle is that a Workman is worthy of his wages.
