Herbert W Armstrong College Still Holding Classes During Coronavirus Quarantine So They Can Discuss Importance Of William Shakespeare

Herbert W Armstrong College is holding classes during the coronavirus quarantine.  Apparently living in exile on the cult compound makes them immune to the virus.

Besides, when the world's foremost authority on Shakespeare is giving a lecture, how can you NOT meet? It's not every day you get to see Dennis Leap in a suit instead of his
tight bicycle and marathon shorts.

Shakespeare is important to the Philadelphia Church of God, so much so that they have articles and broadcasts about the guy.

  3. I'm curious. Where are all these photos from the PCG compound coming from? Are they official or are they from a mole?

  4. Guess with "social distancing" there will be no secretive "boy/girl" meetups like happened in the Piney Woods at Big Sandy back in the day!

  5. Gerald Waterhouse had nothing but contempt for Shakespeare. His writings distracted people from the Truth, which was centered in the Bible as explained by Herbert W Armstrong. Waterhouse never went into detail about wrong teachings in Shakespeare, suggesting that his rejection was visceral, not intellectual. I had a hunch he had done poorly in an English literature class (he spoke contemptuously of Geoffrey Chaucer too) and was still boiling with resentment over it. Much as I hated that attitude, his rejection is preferable to Flurry choice to co-opt Shakespeare as a pillar propping up COG ideas about British Israelism.

  6. Waterhouse had the intellectual capacity of a Jr. High student. Never has the church had a bigger creator of fictional stories than him. Well, maybe except for Bob Thiel.

  9. Yes, the pictures are from the PCG Twitter feed.

But the classes look so small that they might be OK under the CDC guidance not to gather in groups larger than 10.
