Would You Want COG Kings and Priests To Be Your Teacher In The Millennium?

Can you imagine anything more dismal than what Richard Ames describes below?  Given the track record of the leadership of LCG and most Church of God's today, who in their right mind would want to be "trained" by these people"? Never has there been such a sour, grumpy, mean spirited group of self-appointed men in COG history as what we have today. They kill any desire people have for a millennial kingdom to come given how they treat people.

Just how many Churches of God's do we need proclaiming they are teaching "true knowledge"? Every single one of them has their own unique interpretation of how things should be. They are not unified as a church and most certainly are not unified on doctrines and understanding of God's word or on Jesus. Who can anyone trust any more? Will all of these different COG's have their own "colleges" in the world tomorrow where they teach their own specific doctrines? If so, what a hellish millennium is instore for humanity!

True Wisdom and Knowledge
Though the world around us wants to confuse and deceive us with false knowledge, we must maintain a teachable heart. Why? We are learning in this life the lessons that will help us serve as kings and priests in the Millennium. In that day, we will be teaching the whole world true knowledge. “For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. And though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers” (Isaiah 30:19–20).
Yes, all of God’s people who are faithful will be teachers in tomorrow’s world. We’ll be those kings and priests. During the Millennium, today’s firstfruits will play an active role in helping people stay on the right path of true knowledge. “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left” (v. 21). The responsibility of a priest is to intercede for someone else, but also to teach. And we’re learning that way of life so we can teach it to others. We learn painful lessons so that we can help those who are also experiencing painful lessons.
But what about religious knowledge? So many religions of this world are not even convincing counterfeits of God’s true religion. In them, we find violence, deception, and the acceptance of evil as if it were good. Most of the world’s religion today is under the sway of the “god of this age” (2 Corinthians 4:4)—Satan the devil. Yet the presence of a lie does not mean there is no truth. True religion gives us the missing dimension in knowledge. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). What do we do with that truth? “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed’” (v. 31). We must abide in the truth! What is that truth? “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world” (James 1:27). We must not become contaminated by the world’s values, and we must practice outflowing concern for others.
If we have received true knowledge, we will be found acting on it, not just knowing it. Christianity is a way of life. In fact, that’s what Christianity was called before it was called Christianity: “But when Felix heard these things, having more accurate knowledge of the Way, he adjourned the proceedings” (Acts 24:22). The Apostle Paul wrote, “But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets” (Acts 24:14). That phrase, “the Way,” occurs three other times in Acts (9:2; 19:9, 23).

  3. When I was in LCG, I could not see how people in the different COGs could not agree and get along, could then be kings and priests ruling in harmony.
It was questions like these that finally led me out of COG world.

  4. I was thinking some more about this post. The LCG kings and priests being my teachers in the kingdom. Can you imagine Dick Ames going on and on for all eternity. Now that is being tormented in hell for all eternity

  5. I don't think Ames has ever preached an original sermon that is new or written an article that is new and up to date. It is the same canned sermons and articles he has been writing and preaching for 40 some years. Not one interesting thin.

There is supposedly only one true church that Jesus is working through. There are NOT 666 different true churches. There might be 666 different false churches. Most so-called COG groups are satanic frauds.

Erm .... You sure you don’t mean EVERY so-called GOG group? Name me one that is not a fraud.

  7. you're making the false assumption that everyone at church is in The Church...

it's been said that HWA privately thought that 90% didn't get it....I can believe that.

  8. Comment was made saying: "...what a hellish millennium is instore for humanity!"

So true, especially if what Richard Ames believes and said were really true, but what he is speaking is "Junk Food:" seems nourishing, but it is not, b/c it is his version of a Mickey Mouse Millennium (MMM). Thank God that will never happen as Richard tells us.

Richard, misunderstanding God's timing for events and believing in that MMM wrote:
    ******
“For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. And though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers” (Isaiah 30:19–20).
    ******
That verse will apply only after that 2nd resurrection occurs; there is no 3rd resurrection.

If Richard wants to talk about the MMM period of time I would suggest he focus on this, instead:

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
:12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find [it].

Really? yes, and time will tell...

    John

P.S. What exists after that MMM?

Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom [is] as the sand of the sea.

Really? Yes, and time will tell...and what happened to Jesus after that MMM? During that MMM?

COG priests/kings (as spirit beings the hirelings tell us) will not teach us during the MMM while reigning on earth!

    John

I privately and publicly think that HWA didn't get it. His lifestyle, perversions and narcissism demonstrated someone who was extremely confused. This isn't about doctrine, but about an insecure person desiring power, money, control and celebrity.

It looks like HWA was right about that. There still are a lot of very bad people in the splinter groups.

  11. I remember Roderick Meredith in 1st year Bible (1972). Can't imagine wanting to listen to him again again, let alone for eternity. But, he suggests that he is number three in seniority and will be in a high position in the Kingdom. Imagine having to listen to Hoeh, Meredith and Waterhouse for eternity. You might have wished you hadn't made it into the Kingdom. I think most of them were intellectual cowards. Now willing to listen to other ideas and suppressing any real discussions. Perhaps they were insecure. Perhaps they knew that they were, in many ways, empty suits. why do they repeat the same sermons and articles? They haven't grown in knowledge in decades. They are stuck, intellectually. Like a broken record. No learning results in the same sermons. Perhaps one reason they don't learn is they are too busy climbing the ladder at corporate HQ,strengthening their hold on their power, etc. Very Christian.

    Name one?

    Why so many?

You sure know how to ask for hard things!

  13. The more I look into the WCG splinter groups, the worse things look. Maybe there really is only one true splinter group, and all the rest are bad. For sure, some of them are extremely bad.

Maybe God has to call people and guide them into the one true splinter group, or else they will end up in one of the many fake ones.

And maybe even the one true splinter group is Laodicean and will have to go into the Great Tribulation to get cleaned up.

Roderick C. Meredith appeared to believe in some of the early Worldwide Church of God teachings, but did not seem to accept all of the later stuff. For example, RCM seemed to be unwilling to accept the later teaching that Herbert W. Armstrong was the one who was prophesied to come in the spirit and power of Elijah to “restore all things.”

RCM and his crew in his Living Church of Rod even came up with things like a two-fold gospel message, a marriage supper in heaven, and a falling away in the world, because they wanted to put their own doctrinal stamp on their own religion business. Perverting the gospel is a serious thing to do to try to compete against HWA, and trying to deny the relatively huge work that HWA had done by saying that the falling away will be in the world rather than in the WCG back in 1995 is strange too.

RCM's own doctrinal ideas will help to make his LCG group unique, but not in a good way. All the other bad splinter groups are unique too, each in their own way, with their own peculiar doctrinal changes. RCM's doctrinal changes will probably just be a stumbling block that will prevent his LCG from ever growing. RCM started off with less than one-tenth of the people from the WCG, after the Great Apostasy of 1995, and that was about the end of it, even though RCM tried so hard to find brand new people who supposedly had never heard of HWA.

Rod didn't accept it because he knew where the teaching came from. He and Herman Hoeh flattered HWA with the idea, hoping to advance themselves.
