Let's Get This Over With: Is God Trying to Tell Us Something?

So Far, looks like I'm beating Bob Thiel on asking this before he does.  Gotta hurry though!

"Behold! With the dust of my wrath will I choke you. Verily again will I try thine attention to get though oft it seemeth not well to work. Oh the humanity of it! How long wilt thou play football and reject my double portioned chosen one! You're gnna  be so sorry!"
(Ok, I made that up)

  2. The Sahara Air Layer is a seasonal event, this one happens to be a bit large.
    Just ask NOAA

No debate on my part. I'm filtering this through Bob's mind and "prophetic tendencies" where he can hunt and peck up a scripture about it to prove we are, yet again, living in the last days.

  4. Well one COG leader did warn in a sermon, during the early days of Covid 19, things could happen one after another.

  5. Many years ago I asked Bob if he would interested in info about La Palma, an Atlantic island where a volcanic eruption could set off a tsunami that could wipe out the East Coast of the USA. He said he was very interested, so I gave him a copy of several papers from a scientific journal. As far as I know, he never posted anything about it.

    2. East Coast? Better warn my good lady friend from Connecticut about that?

  7. Bwana Bob has no credibility anymore. This is coming from a person who used to defend him. Not any more!

  8. Would it be possible that the ONLY reason the COG leaders keep doing what they’re doing, is that because prophesying is PROFITABLE ....

  9. Prediction: bad things will happen. WOW, I'm a prophet. Predict that a recurring event will happen again, be vague as to type and timing and you are a prophet. Not impressed.
On the other hand, go to the race track, pick the race winners, make a bundle time and again . . . then I'm impressed.
I now predict that I will leave this website.

  10. Yes, SAL is seasonal and has some potentially good and bad interaction with the weather, including moderating of tropical storms. And along with other seasonal weather events, such as monsoons, climate change has an influence.
And COGs naturally distance themselves from climate change, as denying it allows a better chance for scare mongering. And climate change must be wrong, because the Pope accepts it...
Around ten years ago, Mark Armstrong's mate Murray posted something that was another of his "proofs" to deny anthropogenic climate change. That time, it had to deal with abnormal temperatures in the Antarctic; and I believe Bob chimed in on that as well. Following Murray's source (a brief, hyped news item from a questionable site) I followed a reference trail down to a Chinese research paper (which I think I copied to Bob) and sources that countered the climate change denial.
Ocean currents, such as the Gulf Stream and the East Australia Current move warm water toward the poles; the water cools down, and moves back to the tropics. Warmer seawater, due to climate warming, can alter the path and distance traveled by the warm water. In effect, the warm water can go to a different location and alter the usual warming patterns. So, parts of Europe and Antarctica could get abnormally colder while the rest of the world gets warmer.
Ooops, it "proved" the wrong thing...

  11. I have seen cars on the interstate line up behind a semi in order to find diminished wind resistance. Cyclers in a peloton will draft off of each other in the same way. And Armstrongist preachers draft off of every disaster that comes along.

The revenue capturing strategy that capitalizes on disasters and used by Armstrongist organizations rests on the following pillars of dissonance reduction:

    1. Evoking fear of disasters.
    2. Generating a sense of relevancy.
    3. Stirring up a feeling of End Time urgency.
    4. Assuring safety to the dedicated.

Harrowing relevancy in real-time, however concocted, was one of the techniques I noticed when I first tuned into The World Tomorrow radio broadcast years ago. You know the deal - GTA glibly broadcasting from a noisy beer garden in Germany about the imminent rise of Naziism (there are now probably more neo-Nazis in the USA - the world should be afraid of us not Germany). Makes you feel like you have a front row seat on world events. You're special; you're safe inside the WCG. Very self-validating. Only slight dissonance about rendering up your money. Still works well. And nobody in the splinters has learned anything.

Note: In the use of techniques like this, I actually believe Armstrongist preachers believe what they say. This self-deceived integrity makes this technique even more lethal.

It most certainly works well, as many world leaders are now imitating the ACOGs.
First, they are using terror religion to strip their citizens of their rights. But instead of using the tribulation, they are using the corona virus. Second they are allowing the looters, who parallel the church crazies, to twist their citizens sense of normalcy of expecting just behaviour from others. The result is a totalitarian and above the law government. BTW, the politicians frequent "no one is above the law" mantra only applies to the little people. It doesn't apply to the big people leaders.
It's amusing listening to the ACOG leaders complain about their soul mate secular leaders.

    I agree.
And listening to VP Pence I might add

"Thanks to president Trumps leadership" is the new "Alluha Akhbar".

  17. You Guys wouldn't believe a prophet,if he was a prophet; out of all the would be Prophets in the COGs; his is the only one that was legit; Facts speak for themselves; Rod Meredith said God may consider you to be a Prophet, so did the other LCG Evangelists, also the Fruits; did you ever read his books or blogs; everything is spot on; also he truly cares for the poor and unfortunate Brethren: that the other Churches of God would be afraid to support, due to the financial drain; you at banned, just have a root of bitterness;. You know it's true. How unfortunate. Great signs and works are coming; the head church leaders of Jesus Day didn't believe either, because there hate blinded them
