Exposing the underbelly of Armstrongism in all of its wacky glory! Nothing you read here is made up. What you read here is the up to date face of Herbert W Armstrong's legacy. It's the gritty and dirty behind the scenes look at Armstrongism as you have never seen it before!
With all the new crazy self-appointed Chief Overseers, Apostles, Prophets, Pharisees, legalists, and outright liars leading various Churches of God today, it is important to hold these agents of deception accountable.
Herbert Armstrong's Tangled Web of Corrupt Leaders
Herbert W. Armstrong died 34 years ago on January 16, 1986. Many people in Gerald Flurry's PCG cult will not even know what HWA actually taught, or will not remember it even if they are old. Gerald Flurry will have messed up their minds by now.
In his later years, Herbert W. Armstrong taught about God saying, “Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse” (Malachi 4:5-6, KJV).
The law that was to be remembered said, “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee” (Exodus 20:12, KJV).
In the New Testament, in Mark 7:6-13, Jesus specifically mentioned the commandment to honour one's parents when he criticized the religious leaders who made the word of God of no effect through their traditions.
The apostle Paul wrote, “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel” (I Timothy, 5:8, KJV).
Naturally, Satan sent his false prophet and anti-Elijah Gerald Flurry to teach the exact opposite of what God told people to do. Gerald Flurry wants PCG members to forget God's law of the Ten Commandments and to break up their families. Satan sent Gerald Flurry to pervert everything else in the book of Malachi too, and all the rest of the Bible as well.
It's time to admit that, while OF COURSE we should condemn Flurry as evil, we should also recognize the evil intention of PCG members. They are willing to put up with the PCG's evil because they believe they will BECOME GOD if they support PCG's evil.
It's the Garden of Eden sin all over again. Satan told Adam and Eve, "You will become like God if you disobey Him." PCG members have the same Bible the rest of us have, so they should be able to discern good from evil, and yet they CHOOSE EVIL because they believe their choice will make them into GODS.
Once a person becomes convinced that tolerating or facilitating evil will make them into God, it's hard to get them back.
The PCG has changed their rules so that even a unbaptized teenager can be disfellowshipped by the minister. So if a minister tells a teenager to get a haircut and he refuses, he can be disfellowshipped, thrown out of his home, and denied an education by his parents. This level of minister threat and control is outrageous.
My 88 year old mother in law belongs to this crazy church. Her son, my husband, committed suicide. She told them he died of covid, told her grandson the church had to approve him moving in to care for her and she couldn't go to assisted living without their permission or she would be excommunicated. I have never heard of such nonsense
she couldn't go to assisted living without their permission or she would be excommunicated
Of course! Assisted living isn't cheap. If she went into assisted living, the cult wouldn't get much money from her estate when she died. As long as the family caregiver won't talk her into leaving PCG and not giving them her estate, they would rather have a cheap home caregiver than expensive proper care. However, if the family member is antagonistic toward PCG, they might approve assisted living and hope she dies quickly while there's still money left for PCG.

ReplyDeleteA Siamese twin said to the other, “Wish we could be in Flurry's separation cult"
