Sheldon Monson Needs To Repent, Join the One True Philadelphia Church and Follow Proper Church Government

God's one true prophet is speaking out against Sheldon Monson starting a new Church of God. Apparently, like all other COG upstarts, he did not start his group with "Philadlephia reasons." Only the true doubly-anointed prophet of the one true God did such a thing. This makes Herbert Armstrong and Bob Thiel as the ONLY true "Philadelphian" leaders in Church of God history.

09/06/20 a.m Banned by HWA, an anti-COG site, posted the following related to Sheldon Munson and LCG::

During the live streaming of services, September 5th at 2:00pm EDT, for the "COG Broadcast YouTube Channel." Sheldon Monson officially announced the formation of the newest Church of God group to hit the world scene. After some time of discussion and because of their origin, they decided the best title for their new group should be "Church of God Assembly." This was quite predictable considering the hint dropping every week during Sheldon's personal services on YouTube. ... NDA

There was no website for Sheldon Munson's group when I just checked, but presumably there will be. This group does not seem to have formed for Philadelphian reasons, as neither it nor LCG properly accept what the Bible teaches on church government. However, perhaps one or both of them will change.

Did you know that Herbert Armstrong and Rod Meredith both referred to a ONE TRUE leader to come in the future and BOTH of them were referring to Bob Thiel?

Here is that proof:

Laodicea Means "People Decide"

The Bible tells that there will be an overlapping succession of seven churches, often called Church eras. If the Philadelphia era was predominant until the time that Herbert W. Armstrong was alive, this would mean that the last of the seven churches, Laodicea, would be predominant now.

During this Laodicean time, there have been several approaches taken by groups that had their origins in the old WCG.

Many people decided to become independent. And many of those independents seem to feel that they are the most faithful to the teachings of the old WCG. Most have a few points they believe disqualifies others as they decide what is important. Herbert W. Armstrong, who many of them claim to be faithfully following, did not approve of the concept of "independent Christians" in that sense.

Some feel that the apostasy that occurred after the death of Herbert Armstrong was because of the type of governance he had in place. Some of those people have become independent or formed committee ran churches. Another type of governance that Herbert Armstrong condemned (Mystery of the Ages, Dodd & Mead, 1985, p. 247, quoted earlier above).

However, from the very beginning within the Church of God people left and would not listen to God's leaders. As the Apostle John wrote in 3 John 9-11 (which was quoted earlier in this article).

And if people thought that they were Christians when they ignored the Apostle John, how much more do many do so today?

The Apostle John penned the Book of Revelation. And in Revelation 3:14 he used the term "Laodikeus." This differs from how he normally started the letters to the other six churches (Revelation 2 & 3), because he used a plural term--he called them Laodiceans. This plurality, contrasted with the lack of it in the introductions to the other six churches, indicates that Laodicea is composed of divided groups.

Furthermore, according to Strong's Greek concordance, Laodicea is a combination of two words, laos which it defines as "people" and dike, which is defined by Strong's as "right," "judgment," "punish," and "vengeance." And also according to Strong's Greek concordance, Laodiceans is the plural of that.

Smith's Bible Dictionary defines Laodicea to mean "justice of the people". Might the term Laodiceans convey that the predominant characteristic of this Church is that peoples rule, peoples judge, or, in fact that the peoples change the Church's direction?

I personally have long felt that the term Laodicea conveys a difference in governance and direction. Since the Philadelphians are admonished to "Hold fast what you have" (Revelation 3:11) and the Laodiceans say, "I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing" (vs. 17) it would seem that most Laodiceans have rejected other biblical truths as well (even when they explain there positions on governance they seem to misunderstand the Bible).

Now what about some of those few "hierarchical" groups calling themselves some type of Church of God which claim to have a hierarchical form of governance? Well, in nearly all of these cases, it seems that the "leaders decided" to appoint themselves to positions that they were never ordained/appointed to (perhaps, I should add here that I am NOT a self-appointed church writer--for some information on that, please see Who is COGwriter?).

I bet you did not know that Bob Thiel is of a HIGHER AUTHORITY than the fake self-appointed COG prophets like Flurry and Pack, did you?

For example, PCG's Gerald Flurry declared himself a prophet, RCG's David Pack declared himself an apostle, CGPFK's Ronald Weinland declared himself a prophet and one of the two witnesses, and there are some lessor known individuals who have done something similar--none of which, as far as I have been able to tell, had hands laid upon them for those roles. Not only will none of these people accept the authority of any who were anointed by others to a higher role than they have, they seem to have a variety of practices suggesting a harsher and non-biblically correct form of governance.

And if there is a non-self anointed apostle or prophet in the genuine COG (which are levels above evangelists), all should follow him--and there is one who heads the Continuing Church of God.

The O N E  M A N at this time that Herbert Armstrong and Dr. Meredith referred to is Dr. Bob Thiel. God used Herbert W. Armstrong to establish the Philadelphian phase, an evangelist to lead the transitional phase, and a Bob Thiel to lead the  final phase of the work. Dr. Thiel is proclaiming Christ's Gospel of the Kingdom by radio, via YouTube "television," via internet articles, in person, and in print as he leads the Continuing Church of God.

It is time for all of you backsliding Laodicean COG members to get on your knees and repent from following all the liars presently leading Churches of God and turn to the One Holy Apostolic Doubly Blessed Church of God that was prophesied by Herbert Armstrong and Rod Meredith to arise in the end times.

Aren't we blessed to be living in such amazing prophetic times!!!!!!

  1. Professing prophet, and false, Bob Thiel wrote: "...The Apostle John penned the Book of Revelation. And in Revelation 3:14 he used the term "Laodikeus." And if true, Bobby's group continues as another one of those divided groups still in Mickey Mouse confusion, driven by another spirit, another Mickey Mouse Jesus with another gospel.

Bob concludes his thoughts with more of what he "felt" or feels by saying: ",,,Dr. Thiel is proclaiming Christ's Gospel of the Kingdom by radio, via YouTube "television," via internet articles, in person, and in print as he leads the Continuing Church of God..."
Yes, proclaiming a Mickey Mouse Jesus, who by now (or years ago?, or will very soon?) to reign on earth 1,000 years in a Mickey Mouse kingdom, which all fails after Satan exits the pit to once again deceive the entire world.

Regarding Bob's proclaimed false u-tube gospel, time will tell...

Did ANY of the leaders of the so-called COGs or ANY of their followers EVER really repent?

  3. For any former Worldwide Church of God members who still believe anything that Herbert W. Armstrong had taught, Gerald Flurry, David Pack, Ronald Weinland, and Robert Thiel really are Satan's false prophets.

You do not necessarily have to hate false prophets like Gerald Flurry, David Pack, Ronald Weinland, Robert Thiel, and others. However, you certainly do have to beware of them. Jesus said to beware of false prophets. If you waste any of your time, energy, and money on any of these false prophets, you could very well end up really hating them for all the satanic evil that they do. It is better to have them hate you for not giving them any of your time, energy, and money, than to end up hating them for having taken and worse than wasted any of your time, energy, and money.

  4. Bob Thiel, the "non-self anointed apostle or prophet." Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
From the Non-self anointed Church of God. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.

  5. Thiel, Im going to follow you. Seriously, I will!

All you have to do is raise someone from the officially medically certified dead, after three days to life again,

    OR (your choice)

Tell us the closing price for both the Dow and Nasdaq exchanges for a week from Friday, completely to the third decimal point.

Is that asking too much for someone who is a "prophet"???

  7. The COG membership needs to flee to a place of safety far away from all its self-appointed leaders.

I know when I was attending LCG I grew very tired of the pro-LCG government message and its insistence it was the spear point of the Philadelphian work. Are you kidding me? The great work is a shoddy website, an infomercial of doom and gloom, and a grandiose since of self aggrandizement.

The world is better off without the COG. The gospel "good news" is there is life beyond the rented halls and video messages where too many have spent too long warming seats listening to cold and lifeless messages.

He thinks he is the non-prophesying and powerless prophet.
Bob is harmless compared to some of the COG leaders.

So Bob never appointed himself, yet he was never given a leadership position by a "legitimate" COG leader? Is he claiming he was anointed to be Overseer and Prophet by Gaylyn Bonjour (who I believe anointed him for a health problem) or by the round-robin anointing with his African CCOG leaders?

  14. Maybe all these self appointed "apostles" could be like heel wrestlers back in the 1970's where they would have interviews with the wrestling hosts where they would scream & shout insults and threats at their upcoming opponent. Imagine Gerald"The Iron Drunk" Flurry vs Bob Thiel in a steel cage match in which the losing apostle has to leave town.

On another matter I recently read this article from PCG about life in their unaccredited "college," Herbert W. Armstrong College. It is dated August 29, 2020.

    https://pcg.church/articles/6105/armstrong-freshmen-a-week-of-learning

There are four photos accompanying this article and they do not appear to be practicing social distancing. The first three photos are of a classroom. They are not wearing face masks. They are all seated together right next to each other.

The fourth photo they look like they are placing some distance between each other but they are not face masks. Not even one of them. The instructor appears to be Joel Hilliker. The article mentions Joel Hilliker teaching a class which lends further evidence that these photos are very recent. The article states, "On Wednesday, instructor Joel Hilliker taught freshmen how to use barbells and kettlebells and coached them through a workout of pushups, lunges and kettlebell swings."

After having read this article it would appear that PCG is playing with fire. They are tempting catastrophe by not taking proper measures to protect their own people from the spread of Covid-19.

Did Herbert W Armstrong even write Mystery of the ages?
I have heard different testimonies off different men all claiming to have written Mystery of the Ages. It's a mystery who did.

  21. Redfox,

There will not be any sort of catastrophe. To build it up as dangerous for young or fit healthy people will confirm their bias as having been specially protected.

Could they bring it to someone else? Sure. But, they are probably careful around the elderly.

1 in about 4000 people have died from covid in this country. And it will be much less going forward as many have already been exposed to covid and have antibodies. Perhaps the more susceptible have already caught it and then a portion of those have succumbed.
Statistically perhaps one person may die of covid in PCG. And undoubtedly an older person with other health issues.

    ReplyDelete
  22. make that 1 in 2000 or so, so maybe 2 people in PCG statistically.

  27. llleism? Communism places a taboo on the word I since only the collective exists. Modern churchianity has followed this lead. It's common for people who lived in communist countries to have mental problems with the word I and so use the word we instead. The retired political Bob Dole typically used the word we in place of I.

  29. The tragedy of Thiel's delusion is that he is actually fooling people in Africa with this stuff.

To begin with, the idea that a "prophet" even if they are legitimate, somehow demonstrates some sort of "rank" or "office" in the Bible is easy to disprove. The whole concept that there are supposed "ranks" of hierarchy in church government is justified in the COGs based on the reading of 1Corinthians 12:28 which states, "And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues." This verse has been cherry picked from the surrounding context, and the fact that these gifts are numbered is used to "prove" that these are offices of hierarchy within the church. The whole argument falls apart though, when you back up and read the chapter from the first verse, which provides the context of the entire discussion. "Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed." 1Corinthians 12:1 The context here is "gifts of the Spirit" not offices of hierarchy according to numerical order. Continued..."There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work" (vs 4-5) When you read through 1Corinthians 12:7-27 you can see clearly that Paul is likening the different gifts people are given to functions of body parts of a human body. It is within this context that he then begins to list different "gifts" or functions of those within the body, apostles, prophets, teachers, gifts of healing, helping, guidance, tongues. These are gifts and functions not hierarchical offices. You would not categorize a tongue speaker as an "office" but rather a function, given to someone by God when it is needed. The fact that Paul then tells the Corinthians in verse 31 to "eagerly desire the greater gifts" proves that he is still speaking of gifts, throughout the entire chapter. He then goes on in 1Corinthians 13 to describe a more "excellent way", and tells them that without love, none of the rest matters. That must be the motivation for the use of the gifts God gives, or it means nothing. We then move on to 1Corinthians 14:1 where he tells them to "Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy." This was addressed to the whole congregation! He was telling ALL of them to especially desire the gift of prophesy. So, these "gifts" aren't simply reserved for those who have been specially "ordained" into some sort of ranked governmental office, but are given by God to whom He pleases. Even women, as demonstrated in 1Corinthians 11:5, as well as Acts 21:9

The idea that God only works through "ONE MAN" is also false. Jesus chose twelve disciples, and had other followers and servants as well during His ministry. Luke 8:1-3, Luke 10:1-3 And a reading of Acts 2:17-18 completely disproves that there is only to be one "prophet" during the end times... "In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on My menservants and maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy." This passage alone proves Thiel to be a liar and a false prophet, and a man who has been given to strong self delusion.

  33. 6:55AM... I was not implying that God has never in history worked with one man at times. What I am saying, is that it is not a universal rule, or that He has only ever chosen to work with just one man. To imply that, would be to deny the scriptures, and particularly the examples we have in the New Testament. God did not set up a "pope" structure over His called out ones. Neither Peter nor James had the right or authority to make unilateral decisions for the entire body of believers everywhere on the earth, without consultation of the other disciples. Those who try and cast Peter as some sort of chief apostle have to contend with James being the one to verbalize the decision made in Acts 15 concerning the Gentile converts, and those who try to argue the same thing about James, because he made the judgement of the Acts 15 council, must contend with the fact that it was Peter, Paul, and Barnabas who gave testimony of God's will concerning the acceptance of the Gentiles, and the miracles worked among Gentiles through them. If James had "judged" differently in the matter, things would not have gone well at that conference, because he would have been disregarding the testimony of the others and by extension the will of God.

While Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, etc. were all examples of men who were friends of God, and who played special roles in the history of the Old Testament, their existence does not mean that they had the universal ecclesiastical power that a pope claims, or even that God was "only" working with them during their lifetimes. David was not above reproach when he committed sin, and God sent Nathan to correct and reprove him. 2Samuel 12:1-14 There is only one Chief Apostle, and High Priest, and that is Jesus Christ. All Christians have direct access to Him, and all will answer as individuals to Him. And while others might be given certain functions or responsibilities among the body, they do not rule over the body or have final authority. He does.
