This is sure to tick off sanctimonious Bwana Bob Thiel, the great savior of Africa, and to 299 caucasian members. New Years Day is the day he hates the most as it is a double whammy for him. Pagan New Years Day and football.
Davey Pack the most superfantasmic prophet to ever exist in the Church of God has revealed that his creature "christ" is returning on New Year's Eve! This is another insult to the delicate man-boy Thiel because he failed to see this in his dreams.
What a kick-ass New Year's Eve this will be! Wadsworth must be so excited!
SING ALONG TIME--- Sing to the classic New Years tune "Auld Lang Syne"...
ReplyDeleteHave odd Pack acquaintance be forgot...
And never brought to mind!
Have odd Pack acquaintance be forgot...
And his thoughts that were assinine !
Both Dave and Booby have to be the two biggest fools the church has had.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I can't wait to check in here each day to see what craziness the Church of God is into. It is funny the things they say anymore and in their self-righteous seriousness expect people to believe them. How can any ever believe these guys?
ReplyDelete@Anon 12:24
DeleteI can assure you that it is only funny looking at it from the outside. On the inside it is fear, poverty, more fear, lording ministers, more fear, broken families, more fear, abuse, loneliness and more fear.. AKA your everyday average cult.
I was lucky enough to escape the RCG, but I still have loved ones in ‘the church’. It is extremely difficult to stay in touch with them because to ‘the church’ I am death and my loved ones were told not to communicate with me anymore.
I can understand why you look at it the way you do. It is crazy. And weird. And sad.
Isn't Dave one of those ministers who used to preach that "New Year's Day" is a purely pagan observance that God hates because it draws attention away from His TRUE calendar?
ReplyDeleteYep. But he was abandoning that ‘pagan’ thing already, by claiming a few years ago that Christ would return on Christmas-day..
DeleteDave seems to run out of dates, so he now turns to the pagan holidays.
Delusional thinking is coming more quickly now and the danger is growing.
ReplyDeleteDelusional thinking is coming more quickly now and the danger is growing.
ReplyDeleteTrue, and the danger is not just Dave. By now, if you're an RCG member in good standing, you've treated your "unconverted relatives" with a scorn and disdain that Jesus Himself warned against and never practiced. Dave is reproducing himself in RCG members, and they're voluntarily going along with it instead of swallowing their pride and admitting they've been fooled by a deceiver, just as many victims of child abuse grow up to become child abusers themselves instead of repenting and stopping the cycle of abuse.
Tale of two prophets - one makes many predictions with no specific time frame, the other keeps making the same prediction and varies the specific date. When the first prophet sees something he said may happen occur or even trend, he claims success (and ignores predictions that don't). When the other's forecast fails, he comes up with reasons to explain why he was allowed to make it.
ReplyDeleteIt was a little disturbing in one of the last posts when Dave said "I just want this to be done" That is a very telling statement about "this" as if all of this was his only goal that he clearly saw and could not be false but time after time proved disappointingly false.
ReplyDeleteSo if he wants to be done with his own delusions, how does it end?
So if he wants to be done with his own delusions, how does it end?
ReplyDeleteDeep down, he either thinks he's Christ or sincerely suspects he's Christ, or else he knows he's a deliberate fraud.
Christ was persecuted to the death, but fortunately he didn't take a roomful of believers to their deaths with him.
Maybe, if he knows he's a fraud, he'll find a way to sell all of RCG's properties and leave the country, then leave Brad Schleifer with some kind of "empty tomb" message announcing that Brad is the new Peter to lead the end-time church for the next 3.5 years before David Christ returns.
Or maybe Dave's doctor gave him a deadly/fatal diagnosis and he knows he has to wrapt it all up cleanly in the next few weeks/months.
All we can do is wait, it seems.
I am fearful of the mental state of these guys. Any second now, snap!

ReplyDeleteThe most interesting and tragic thing is that some people who sincerely believed Herbert W. Armstrong and simply wanted to hold on to what he had taught them have been suckered in and plundered and pulverized by BAIT & SWITCH SCAMMERS of the very worst sort, such as Gerald Flurry and David Pack. These fraudsters promised former Worldwide Church of God members all of HWA's old teachings from 1986, but then actually came up with their own incredibly massive load of complete nonsense instead.
Also interesting is all the wicked little leaders and members in these cults who went to them for their own selfish and immoral reasons.
"Davey Pack ..... has revealed that his creature "christ" is returning on New Year's Eve!"
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of champaign does He drink? I'm buying!
In the classic words of Rocky the Flying Squirrel....
ReplyDelete"Again?!?! But that trick never works!"
It's standard operating procedure in all cults to teach their members to "scorn and disdain" ones family and former friends. This is because they want a monopoly on the information fed to their members. This parallels the behavior of beasts of prey such as lions separating their intended target from the relative safety of the herd.
ReplyDeleteExcellent December 28, 2020 at 9:48 PM,
ReplyDeletePT editor.
ReplyDelete9:48 comment is absolute rubbish and an example of fake news.
The procedure to separate people from family is perpetrated because of a "gut" understanding by cults of the scientfic principle of "Consistency" in the process of influencing and exerting control over people.
Once a person has been persuaded to make a (large) sacrifice a person becomes psychologically bound to persist and be consistent in their behavior of sacrifice.
This includes losing all friends, transfer assets into common, live a life in anticipation oc things that will never come.
Beasts of prey just separate the weak from the strong. Both the New Testament and Karl Marx describe christianity as a system that way. The NT for example says, not many wise man now are called, in complete understanding and affirmation of the fact.
The "free literature" is exemplary of the mint the waitress gives you with the bill, initiating the psychological principle of "Reciprocity", prompting you to significantly increase your tip.
I could go on and on but it's better cult leaders do not understand their business beyond superficial.
Hence the oft repeated complaints that my postings are incomprehensible or written after 10 beers.

Chill. Like I conjectured earlier, for these people the Parousia is not a geo-political event. It's a liturgical event. That's why, even though this enactment is a miniature of the 1844 Disappointment, it can be done repeatedly without causing this splinter to fatally implode.
ReplyDeleteNobody in this splinter really expects Christ to return on New Year's. But everyone in this splinter expects to get stoked about it. The operative question is, "Can an amygdala hijack somehow become addictive?"

ReplyDeleteThat brought a great laugh. Nicely perceived! lol
He's eventually going to run out of those too.
Many are wondering where this all ends. As someone who is very close to all this, I can tell you that Mr. Pack is the most deceived out of anyone. A lot in RCG know what's being taught is hogwash. Mr. Pack calls them “smug.” The reason he does is because he himself can't see through the mire. This will only end when Mr. Pack one day returns to the earth. Despite how important he believes he is, he has no advantage over the animals. As one dies, so dies the other (Ecc. 3:19). Sadly, this could go on for many more years. RCG has plenty of assets. Their finances will continue to shrink, but it will take some time before they run out of funds and have to shut down their operations.
ReplyDeleteFor those with loved ones still in RCG, learn when to have conversations and when not to. Be patient. Some are completely brainwashed, but the majority see through the smoke and mirrors. They may come out in time.
the majority see through the smoke and mirrors
ReplyDeleteThat can't be. If the majority realizes it's all lies, they could leave and then their brainwashed loved ones would have to come with them as RCG would be defunct. No, I'm sure there are MANY who see through the smoke and mirrors and are hanging on so as not to lose their families, but I'm equally sure that the MAJORITY must still believe in Pack in some way or another, or they would leave and the RCG would implode.
They don't want to leave. If you leave, you lose your friends. If you live on the campus, you lose your home. If you work at RCG HQ, you lose your job. There are many that sit through the nonsense because the good outweighs the bad. They've decided to ignore what their Bibles say in order to stay comfortable.
DeleteThere are many that sit through the nonsense because the good outweighs the bad. They've decided to ignore what their Bibles say in order to stay comfortable.
ReplyDeleteJesus made many promises, but "ignore Me and be comfortable" wasn't one of them. Any RCG employee who chooses to keep a house and a salary while Pack is fleecing ordinary members out of their houses and salaries is in much the same position as a Nuremberg Nazi who tried to avoid prosecution with the excuse, "I didn't believe in Nazism or the Final Solution; I was just carrying out orders." In some ways, the "many" you describe are worse than Pack, as they are the ones who make it possible for him to carry out his evil, without whom Pack would be just another nutcase telling wild stories in an insane asylum.
Cheers to that!

ReplyDeleteConsistency is used to bind members to a group, The purpose of separating members from former friends and family, as well as from their past, and denigrating their sense of self is thought reform. The two are not the same. Try reading up on the topic.
I live with one that has totally bought into the BS, he listens to whatever is being served up online at least 4-5 days of the week. He's always early to church and comes home after dark, why a 2 hour sermon takes 6 to 7 hours is beyond me. He has sold his soul and his relationships to this group, nothing else makes any difference to him. It's all important and I don't think anything will ever change.

ReplyDeleteOrganic exotic flower juice, picked and frozen on the spot, from the Himalayans with added drops of Amazon waterfall fresh water is more nck than beer.

ReplyDeleteMany cults in the world do physically separate members from their families. In the ACOGs, the separation is mental, with the accusation that their families and outside friends are of Satan, the world, carnal etc.
Young men in the Mormon church are required to spend a whole year trying to attract members from the street. This is imposed on them by the church to bind them to the church via consistency. I do not regard this as "voluntary" in the truest sense. There's a YouTube video on this. I found it painful to watch.
8:36
DeleteYou are exactly right.
I do not know the incentive for mormon missionaries for their activities. Travel, being among likeminded youngsters, or peer pressure. The point is, the more "voluntary" the initial sacrifice, the more likely the consistency in behavior.
We have no disagreement.
This answers the question as to when heavily invested Davey will cease predicting his imaginary god will return within short notice.
It will likely double because he cannot escape the "consistency trap" he fell into. Hence his 100 and more sermons expounding the former, consistent in his "revelatory" mode. After all, his brain tells him he can't be wrong, why would "the first of his revelations commenced otherwise?
Inconsistency is seen as an undesirable trait and is associated with irrationality, deceit, and even incompetence; it can generate reactions of disappointment, anger, and confusion. These risks create tremendous social pressure to remain consistent. Thus, people will strive to ensure that their behavior matches past decisions in order to avoid undue stress.

ReplyDeleteConsistency does not hold back deceivers such as Dave. Converts to a cult are taught to reject their past experiences, beliefs and self image. All of which are inherently inconsistent. You over rate the power of consistency.
Of course you are right.
DeleteConsistency only became a topic as a response to an earlier comment.
There are about 8 or 9 rules for influencing and hooking people.
I believe I did mention "Reciprocity" also. That's the little flower The Hare Krishna gave you at the airport, prompting many to reciproke with a dollar....... about 100 times the value of the flower. Same with the "free literature absolutely no subscription price."
