Commercial Break Upon Request: WCG and the Moody Blues

Knights in White Satin-The Moody Blues

Charlie Piscatello,  left in this cover and top of the stairs at the beginning and drummer for Moody Blues back in the day came into the WCG shortly after this video. He told me the lifestyle was too hard on him and he had been reading the PT etc.

He was a personal friend and went on to become an Elder for the remnant WCG before passing away a few years ago. Charlie was blind from birth and had no pictures in his mind to relate to. He once asked me to explain what the Space Shuttle was.  I explained it to him with a model of it. He also said he understood power poles but not the lines between them.

He tells of traveling with the Moody Blues by air and was allowed on the flights first because of his blindness but also because he was with the Moody Blues.  He had a seeing eye dog. The Captain always seemed to come out to meet him and Charlie would ask if he would walk his dog one last time before the flight. He then sat back and imagined the Captain  walking around the plane as passengers came on board, with his seeing eye dog.    LOL.

A really good man and stayed with WCG/CGI I believe up until his death.

  1. Nights in White Satin could be the next PCG musical extravaganza, except that it would be about That Prophet's honeymoon!

  2. I see Bob Thiel using this as an opportunity to sell his homeopathic buckwheat pillows with satin covers. He will have to make this about him, somehow.

The "knights" fit in to Catholic prophecy, somehow. Bob will take it from there.

  4. Perhaps Bobadiah will be inspired to replace his loud curtains with white satin.

  6. Seriously? What kind of ignorant statement is that?

  7. Sorry guys. But Charlie Piscatello was never an official member of the Moody Blues. I don’t know where ‘Banned’ got this info from, but it’s not right

  9. Copied from BANNED comments , on a similar post from 2012...

My dad, Charlie, was my best friend. He married me and my wife 5 years ago. He impacted a lot of lives, hearts and souls. I can assure you that him leaving music was not easy but he felt he could help and heal more hearts being a pastor then a musician.. he had a huge, kind, compasionate and understanding heart. He did what he felt was right not always popular. I can also assure you my dad was NEVER the drummer for Moody Blues. My dad opened for them several times but he was never the drummer.. He was a great man who only wanted the best for everyone often at his expense.. He was a friend to a fault at times but only because he saw the good within everyone... no matter how deep it ws buried. He believed in YOU, even when you didn't. I miss you Dad.

  11. Its ironic that ministers like Dennis and members like you continue to promulgate lies while condemning WCG.

Not ironic, in fact very predictable. Whether they are conscious of it or not, AC bred in its students a sense of being in a class above other non-AC people, and the ministers from AC had a double-dose of that as superior to AC non-ministers.

@ 11:08 AM, I've seen many pictures of people traveling with Paul McCartney, and I can assure you that VERY few of them played for Wings or the Beatles.

  12. Dennis is wrong on several accounts. Working in the music industry at the time while i was in Pasadena AC, i saw Charlie perform as an opening act. Charlie was never a member of the MBs, altho he did perform as an opening act for them but not with them. In addition, he was a guitarist and not a drummer. Admit you're wrong about this Dennis, like you are about a lot of things. Thanks for the link tonto...it totally supports what i wrote and refutes others.

  13. I doubt that Dennis was trying to deceive anyone. After 50 years and lots of people and happenings since then, some little details can get mixed up. Charlie indeed had some kind of connection to the Moody Blues, and many other acts, as well.

The word "LIE" or "LIAR" implies intent. Dennis had no intent of promoting a falsehood, or fraud, and simply was slightly mistaken, on a long ago memory.

I simply posted the facts above to provide clarity and did not do this to besmirch Dennis. We are all wrong on occasions, and hopefully there can be some grace and and forbearance when we do so without intent.

  14. Pack is ready to lead his members into destructive life situations. Flurry is ripping families apart and some of you act like shit here trying to discredit Dennis and Piscitello in order to look smug. Armstrongism at its finest. What hypocrites!

    1. Amen 7:12.

And Cognac Willie must be between 60 and 70 year old even. He sounds like the 31 year old copy/image/publishing rights lawyer, aiming to hook a young football or american idol star for a career. Show me the Kwan.

      Nck

  15. I read Cognac W's post, and he never called dennis a liar, as Tono inferred. CW simply stated the facts and asked dennis to admit his error He is right, not smug, anon 712. Sure Pack and his like are crazy, but that does not excuse the posting of misinformation about a lesser subject. You twist things so badly about mistruths that it hurts the credibility here

  16. I was simply passing on what Charlie told me directly face to face and a couple of anecdotes that again he told me personally over the five years I was around him. Since he is, in fact, in the video posted of the earliest rendition of Knights in White Satin, I assumed too much evidently.

Gary liked the stories and asked me to post them just for something church related but on the lighter side. He texted me later he was sorry and didn't realize such a shit fest would ensue.
