From PCG's lips to your ears....
Since the split in the Church of God, which occurred on Dec. 7, 1989, Jesus Christ has overseen the progressive shattering of the body that was once His Church. This was prophesied by God over 2,500 years ago! “And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished” (Daniel 12:7).
Never fear though, the PCG is the one true restoration that holds fast to EVERY SINGLE THING that Herbert said or wrote. This is an absolute lie. Gerald Flurry and others have gone through all of HWA's writings and WCG literature that they paid3.5 million for rights to use, and edited things to fit PCG's current teachings, which constantly change with every bad nightmare Flurry has. Even HWA's writings are not allowed to conflict with Flurry's imagination.
The Hebrew word for “scatter” literally means to break in pieces or shatter. The original corporate body of the Worldwide Church of God is now split into numerous enterprises ranging from a handful following one man to quite sizable bodies of ex-wcg members following others. Search as you may and you will find only one singular entity holding fast to all of God’s truths as restored to the Church by Jesus Christ, through His end-time apostle Herbert W. Armstrong.
The crap that flows out of the PCG is supposed to be divine revelation. God no more speaks through Gerald Flurry than he does in the dreams of Bob Thiel. Yet, we are supposed to believe these apostate heretics.
God reveals that where His lamp is burning brightly, one of the most powerful witnesses will be the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10). Search again, and you will find but one singular Church that has literally been flooded with divine revelation of end-time prophecy since God split the Church. The Philadelphia Church of God, by its fruits, is proved to be the very Church which continues to revive and perpetuate all things that God restored to it through Mr. Armstrong. It is the true Church of the firstfruits. It has the law and it has the great vision of prophecy. “The firstfruits are being harvested now—this very minute! This is our moment in life. There will never be another like it throughout eternity! …
Another perspective on PCG's rock
ReplyDeletePCG: “The firstfruits are being harvested now—this very minute! Huh? What? Where? Who?
ReplyDeleteNo they're not. Jesus said the harvest is at the end of the age - Mat 13:39. At Pentecost in some year? 'Cause it is called the feast of harvest twice in the OT.
Worldwide had he silly "stone of scone" idea , so Flurry had to have a stone of his own.
ReplyDeleteI have "Defrocked all the Rocks" from my thinking or interest!
ReplyDeletePCG: “...you will find but one singular Church that has literally been flooded with divine revelation of end-time prophecy...”
The PCG's great big claim to fame is that it has literally been FLOODED with Gerald Flurry's outright lies about how great he supposedly is.
PCG is very immoral when I attended there the ministers did not seem to care when their brethren were suffering at least in my congregation.
ReplyDeleteThe PCG leaders must know that their claim of being the only true church is a lie. It's a marketing ploy used by hundreds, if not thousands of denominations and sects. It also has the advantage of mentally chaining their members to that group. In fact, members have a duty of care to flee any group that becomes toxic. Not to do so is the sin of omission.
ReplyDeleteYes but even many UCG members hang around bad people in their groups too.
ReplyDeleteBit unfair 11:30 PM the UCG members have to interact with the ministry.
Deleteliterally been flooded with divine revelation of end-time prophecy
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, I forgot, Trump is still president.
I still say that rock is an erratic...
ReplyDeleteStone or Ivory
ReplyDelete1Ki 6:18 The inside of the temple was cedar, carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; no stone was to be seen. (NIV).
2Ch 9:8a Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the LORD thy God:
2Ch 9:17 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.
2Ch 9:18 ... with a footstool of gold ... fastened to the throne
1Ki 10:19 The throne had six steps, and its back had a rounded top. On both sides of the seat were armrests, with a lion standing beside each of them.
2Ch 9:19a And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps.
2Chr 9:19b There was not the like made in any kingdom.
“It is generally thought that this "throne of the house of David" (Psa 122:5) was of wood, veneered with ivory, as was the practice in Assyria, and in the chryselephantine statues of the Greeks (Paus. 2.4.1; 6.25. 4, etc.) Bohr says there is no more necessity for believing this throne to have been of solid ivory than the "ivory house" mentioned in 1Ki 22:39. Cf. Psa 45:8; Amo 3:15; Amo 6:4. But there is surely this difference between them, that the palace could not possibly be constructed entirely of ivory, whereas the throne might be, and some of the thrones of India have been (Rawlinson)]...
“[It is very unlikely that the gold entirely covered and concealed the ivory, especially if the latter was merely a veneer... the presumption is that the ivory was solid. In the Greek statues both ivory and gold were applied in laminae, the former representing the flesh, the latter the drapery.]” (Pulpit Commentary).
“The ivory throne, overlaid with finest gold (v.18), was a large and imposing object, in keeping with the symbolism of the seat of justice and rulership of a great king” (R.D. Patterson & Herman J. Austel, 1 & 2 Kings, EBC, Vol.4, p.103).
1Ki 10:9 Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.
2Ch 9:8a Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the LORD thy God:
“Although this account follows the Deuteronomic source text closely, an interesting deviation occurs in 9:8. Whereas 1 Kings 10:9 reads “Praise be to the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on the throne of Israel,” the Chronicler’s version differs in the last part: and place you on his throne as king to rule for the Lord your God. The change from “the throne of Israel” to Yahweh’s throne is in line with the way in which Solomon’s kingship is presented in the Chronicler’s own material in 1 Chronicles 28:5: “he has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.” This reflects the Chronicler’s understanding that the actual king of Israel is Yahweh. Solomon might be the center of literary attention in this episode, but with this small change to the source text the Chronicler reminds his readers that Solomon was not occupying his own throne but was rather representing Yahweh...” (Louis C. Jonker, 1 & 2 Chronicles, UBCS, p.199).
ReplyDeleteEze 44:1 Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut.
Eze 44:2 Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut.
Eze 44:3 It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before the LORD;...
"... the identification of the prince as a descendant of David is lacking... although it is hard to imagine that Ezekiel had a different dynasty in mind. Why is that? Because in Ezekiel's vision there is another central royal figure, the Lord himself reigning in the temple. The past abuses of the monarchy will be done away with, legislated out of existence by a rearrangement of the land and by specific commands to the future monarch; but the monarch himself remains as a representative of the people. He remains in place, but only as the vassal of the Great King, God himself" (Ian M. Duguid, Ezekiel, NIVAC, p.523).
God and Jesus Christ will have their representative, the prince, sitting on the throne of the Lord during the Millennium.
Rev 2:12 "To the angel of the church in Pergamum write:
Rev 2:13 I know where you live - where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city - where Satan lives. (NIV).
"The risen Christ knows where they live (katoikeis suggest permanent residence): it is "where Satan sits enthroned" (Moffat, The NT: A New Translation)...
"The verse concludes with a repeated emphasis on Pergamum as the place "where Satan lives." A contrast is intended with the first clause ("were you live") - both the believers and their ultimate adversary live in the same locality..." (Robert H. Mounce, The Book of Revelation, NICNT, pp.78-80).
"The phrase "where Satan dwells" means either that someone representing Satan lives in Pergamon or that evil is present in a particular potent way in Pergamon" (David E. Aune, Revelation 1-5, WBC, p.185).
Taking David Aune's first suggested meaning, it would be in keeping with the Lord/Solomon relationship. Just as Solomon was God's representative on the earth, someone was Satan's representative in Pergamon.
Rev 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Da 10:1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia...
Da 10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Just as Satan was not literally living and ruling in Pergamon in the first century AD so the Saints will not be literally living and ruling on the earth in the Millennium. Just as Cyrus was the demon king of Greece's representative on the earth so the Saints will have their own representatives on the earth.
(It is suggested that it would be inconsistent exegesis to argue that 5:10 should be taken literally but 2:13 should not be taken literally).
Eze 48:35b ... and the name of the city from that day shall be, The LORD is there.
Using David Aune's second suggestion, since Jesus Christ will not literally on the earth during the Millennium (the temple, with the Shekinah in the Most Holy Place, is also some distance from the city):
In the future the "prince", a descendant of David, will represent God and Christ in Jerusalem, exercising godly rule; and "good" will be "present in a particular potent way", so reflecting God, that it may be said 'God is there'.
