Sad News: Missing COG Member Found Deceased

The top notice was on various COG Facebook pages and the Ambassador Alumni site when they were looking for her after she did not arrive for church on Saturday.

From a reader:

So sad that this sweet woman had to die driving to Sabbath services in another state during inclement winter weather.

Brenda was the widow of Jim Ross in Tyler, TX.

  1. Let's hope in her next waking moment she's caught up in the air with Christ.

  2. How dare you exploit the death of this women on this page! Some of the people on this page are so mentally deranged with their own hate for COG's, that they will say anything. She could have been driving anywhere. Don't blame that she had to be driving to Sabbath Services! She was doing what she absolutely believed in, regardless of the hate some of you spew from your mouth!

    1. I don’t see any hate from our mouths regarding the death of this poor woman.

If there’s any hate here, it is most certainly coming from you now 5:22!

  3. It is sad news. I don’t think Gary is exploiting this lady. I first heard that she was missing on another site. I was hoping she would be found safe. My condolences go out to her family. The fact she was on her way to church has nothing to do with what happened. From what I have read she was a fine lady. So again I am sad for her family.

  4. She lived near the state line of Tennessee and Virginia. The church trip was NOT hundreds of miles, and the accident occurred only 2 miles from her house.

  5. A sober reminder that we never know when our number will come up.

  6. Agreed. The only hate I see here is from "How Dare You." The facts were stated, that is all. My heart and prayers go out to this lady and her family. The story saddens me, nothing more.

  7. I don't know how to process the fact that COG members I've known throughout my long life have been among the people I most admire and appreciate. COG theology is garbage but the people are genuine. My heart goes out to this poor woman and her loved ones.

  8. Thankfully, she was found. An autopsy is supposed to be performed on Monday. Now, at least the family can have some closure. Prayers have been going out to this family since we heard about it.

  9. anon. said "How dare you exploit ... hateful COGs ..."
No one was saying here that her Sabbath keeping and her church adherence had to do with her tragic death. It is a tragedy that she perished while doing what she believed in. Like an emergency response worker who dies while en route to save another soul in distress. No one would ridicule the EMS and her calling. The one who writes this, and who twists something genuine, is YOU "How dare you." To you the impure all things are corrupt. In a rare moment when people across the entire the COG and ex-COG spectrum express sincere solidarity, it is you who have to come out with something like this spew. Maybe you "How dare you" should have died and the lady herself lived.
