This is starting to sound like a broken record in certain COG circles. "We are being picked on because of our powerful message." Ask any person on the street about that powerful message that they are supposedly hearing from various COG's and NO ONE will have any idea who these groups are or what it is they have said.
UCG Google Advertising Censorship
October 21, 2021
The Church has a divine commission to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God to all people. The technology to do this continues to advance as never before. The communication systems available, like the Internet, are so powerful.
But with these advancing technologies comes increased pressure for us to be censored and our message hidden by large, controlling tech companies—like Google, Facebook and YouTube.
For example, Google—who owns YouTube—is already censoring our ability to advertise online. Many of our advertising campaigns are now limited in their distribution—being labeled “religious belief in personalized advertising.” Our ads are approved to run, but to very limited audiences. Our reach and effectiveness are being censored and controlled. As a result, we are presently not fully spending our budgeted online marketing dollars for Google.
We would appreciate your specific prayers for the gospel to have “free course” and be available to all those who use the Internet, not just to limited audiences whom Google selects.
—Peter Eddington, Operation Manager, Media and Communications Services
PCG and LCG have been able to use Google Ads extensively. This sounds like another case where the UCG bigwigs are being bamboozled by a so-called expert who is either trained in black-hat techniques or is an experienced brown-noser to ministry but inexperienced at serious online marketing. If you're using Google Ads ethically, it is completely feasible to promote your religious activities to an interested audience.
ReplyDeleteWhat Google is cracking down on are deceptive ads that hide or misrepresent the advertiser's religious agenda. Maybe UCG needs to align its advertising with its supposed adherence to God's commandments?
ADVERTISING????? MARKETING???? Sounds like a *******BUSINESS*******!!! How about ATTRACTING people by your FRUITS??? THEY ARE SO TRANSPARENT IT IS PATHETIC!!
ReplyDeleteWhen the WWCG splintered, the most morally challenged remained in UCG. Some of the most difficult members were made elders. Their problems go deeper than Google Ads.
ReplyDeleteThey need to get on Donald Trump's new social platform. People of like minds, don't cha know! Oops, forgot. Big evangelical presence there. They'll reject 'em, too!
ReplyDeleteJust a little rhetorical question here: If UCG is is in fact preaching the gospel, how is it that mere man is suddenly able to suppress it?
Suffering persecution by censorship just like fellow COGleader Dr Bob.
ReplyDeleteGoogle and its minions have been blocked in China for over 10 years now. YouTube was put behind the Great fireWall just prior to the Beijing Olympics.
“Their problems go deeper than Google ads” I ** LOVE** it!! GREAT comment!! 😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍I needed the laugh.
ReplyDelete“A mere man....”. AWESOME!! Love it!! 😊👍👍👍👍👍Keep the jokes coming!! 👍👍👍
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, Seventh Day Adventism has been growing steadily since its inception. Leaders cite personal evangelism (not marketing) as being responsible for their average annual growth rate of 2.5%. Growth slowed in 2020, due to Covid 19 largely because social distancing made personal evangelism nearly impossible. The SDA church has also been a model for retaining members, preferring to work out differences rather than simply disfellowship members.
ReplyDeleteSeems like the ACOGs could take a few lessons from the mothership!
How did you come by this information NO2HWA ????
ReplyDelete@Anonymous 1:47 - UCG's members site now includes a section about the gospel having "free course."
ReplyDeleteBut as they'd say in the military, apparently the price of "free course" is not free.
The simple solution for GOGs to get their message out is simple, do not agree to the “terms of use” that is agreed to when using Facebook, Google, Youtube. To use those web platform a person or non-profit agrees to rules. Otherwise the COGs can spend millions on their own Web server, for security content, etc. So the profitable solution is to cry foul, bad, bad, Facebook, Google, Youtube!
ReplyDeleteUCG needs to advertise "A Strong Hand (or was it an arm? I forget) From Somewhere" so they don't catch on to them being a church.
ReplyDeleteNo, Uncle Den Den, Not a strong arm, or even a hand! They need their members to give them a strong finger!

ReplyDelete“Satan Is Now Using Google To Thwart UCG's Message”
Satan has been using the disUnited Church of Godlessness to spread watered down teachings and godless behavior for many years now. Unrepentant, unconverted unbelievers go there to behave very badly while playing church. The so-called “ministers” keep the old perverts and kick out their young victims.
Maybe this is why there was that big UCG-COGWA church split in 2010 with the better people being forced out.
How were the early Apostles able to preach the Gospel without the use of electricity ??
ReplyDeleteDon't you mean WI-fi Tonto ? How is your wi-fi these days ?
ReplyDeleteHats off to Google!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
