LCG: 15 Years Of Tomorrow's World And What Does LCG Have To Show For It?

What an amazing feat! 15 years of doing a television program that has gained LCG hardly any new members.  Even with 30,701 guests attending their presentations over 16 years, of which probably 1/2 - 3/4 are LCG members attending these meetings to make them look full to impress the newbies, LCG has nothing to show for this great expense. The only members LCG gets any more are children of current members getting baptized or gaining new members by professional church hoppers from other COG's.

Fifteen Years of Tomorrow’s World Presentations

The Living Church of God has put a considerable investment in Tomorrow’s World Presentations over the last 15 years. Since 2006, 1,179,050 invitations have been mailed, inviting subscribers to 1,248 TWPs in 425 cities around the world. These messages have involved 121 ordained LCG ministers speaking to 30,701 guests. Hundreds of these guests have begun to attend Sabbath Services during that time.

Of those "hundreds",  how many actually returned week after week, six months down the line?

As we start another year of Tomorrow’s World Presentations, please continue to pray for God’s blessing on this important aspect of the Work, in bringing live, in-person messages to prospective members who desperately need the hope that the Truth provides!

  1. One definition of insanity is to "keep doing the same thing but expecting a different result".

  2. Matthew 23:37 "Jerusalem, Jerusalem who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her.."

God has a responsibility to warn people to repent. Just because people do not respond to the warning, doesn't mean that the effort was wasted.

  3. If the lcog suddenly fell off the face of the earth and no longer existed life would continue.
    No one would notice.
And few if any would mourn their demise.
Simply a blink in time in ecclesiastical history.
Like so many others before them who claimed divine providence, they in the course of time will disappear.
Gods work of salvation will continue with or without them and those who thought they alone were Gods ‘work’.
    Vanity all is vanity.

  4. It was once said that the worst insult one could give amongst WCG members who had not seen one another for a long time was "Why you haven't changed a bit!!!" Why? It meant no growth! No growth was a bad thing. Basic parable of the pounds, 101.

Someone can work hard, but yet be totally ineffective. It is measurable results which indicate personal development. In terms of accountability, that is the way of discerning how someone has used an opportunity. If operating an Armstrong "franchise" qualifies as an opportunity for which a person or group is responsible for tilling and cultivating, then they have all failed. HWA would be very disappointed in all of them!

  5. I can personally attest, that out of 6 to 10 TWP/TWSP's done in my city, each time around 20 or 30 people in attendance, perhaps 2 or 3 people have started attending for any significant time (more than a week or two after), and perhaps only 1 baptism. I found the TWP's were mainly for the member motivation and to make them feel like they are doing "the work". Even some members donated special funds to have sponsor a TWP.

  6. Although I spent some time in LCG, I'll be perfectly honest, I never watched "Tomorrow's World". Partly because it came on way to early on Sunday morning on one of our local television stations and another reason is we didn't see the point in watching it.

  7. All of LCG's warnings have been worthless.
LCG's warnings are worthless because they don't involve Savior Jesus.
Repentance to LCG means turning from one's sinful ways and accepting LCG doctrines.
However, Jesus is the only way to repentance and righteousness.

    Galatians 2:16
know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

  8. It's sad to see the LCG try to deceive their people by citing cooked statistics as proof of a valuable work LCG is doing.
The numbers given are not counting each individual as one - rather many individuals are being recounted repeatedly in the way the numbers are presented.
Even sadder is the fact that many LCG members are too numb to realize or care that they are being deceived.
The truth is, LCG members paid a lot of tithes to their leaders, the leaders produced nothing with the money.
LCG snared very few repentant sinners because they offered a fake gospel that failed to hold Jesus up as the key to repentance and righteousness.

What is the top priority? Is it Mammon or God?

When the United Ass. was established it was a known fact mentioned at the Indianapolis conference that to ensure that mammon would flow into United, that it was necessary to have a magazine, something that can be seen felt read put into the hands of the people so that yes, they would feel they were part of doing "the work!"

Of course, it would be the work of men! Of course, United strived to do the work of Herbert W. Armstrong, but hwa had died and that work was over! Decades later, try as hard as they will, United or any of the x-cogs still cannot duplicate what was accomplished under hwa.
Fortunately or unfortunately, it was lots of spiritual milk and plenty of junk food, especially regarding prophecies doing the time of hwa.

The Bible has indicated that there would be people, leaders, driven by another spirit, to preach another Jesus in another gospel, and that seems to be abundantly clear today!

Why can't the former hirelings of wcg get together again? Each one wants to control people, and control the Mammon, and refuse to be United (or living, or Philadelphian, or (choose another word)) and share the people and the wealth.

It's like fasting and trail! What fast has ever accomplished anything, except the fast that is indicated in Isaiah 58, and prayer? Does God hear sinners?

Which hireling, or xcogroup, if any, might God be listening to?

    Time will tell...

    John

    1. Does God listen to corporate groups 'John'? Is God now a deity that has to have corporate papers burnt up to Him in the third heaven? Does God only tune into Church board meeting? Pop in like the invisible man? Is that God 'John'?

NO never has been God's Way and never will be. God works with people. Always has, always will.

    Who does God listen to?

John 9:31 "Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth."

Of course, God does work with people, and he loves people very much, such that:

2 Corinthians 5:19 "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."

God, The God, is love, but don't expect Him to do things your way, because His thoughts and ways are not ours!

When will God listen to you? To us?

    Time will tell...

    John

  11. Back when I was still looking into LCG, I realized that their TV show was very repetitive, in that they'd have about six or seven different episodes about the U.S.'s coming destruction, for instance, and all of those episodes were available simultaneously. And they did that with lots of different topics.

If the newer episodes are updated versions, then why don't they take down the outdated, obsolete, older ones? If they're NOT updating the topic, then what's accomplished by wasting all of that hard-earned member money on variations on a theme? LCG members, demand accountability for your money, or take it elsewhere!
