We are only into the 4th day of the new year and the craziness in splinterdom continues on in full force. COG self-appointed false prophets see 2022 as one more year closer to their tribulation they so much need to happen. They know that if it doesn't happen soon then they are up a manure creek without a paddle. Their god is an angry god just itching to wipe out two-thirds of humanity just to prove them right.
Never fear though, Zephaniah has the solution for us all. He says that we need to join the one and only true church in the end times.
“The prophet Zephaniah lived and wrote about 630 B.C.” (Armstrong HW. The Proof of the Bible, 1958) during the time of Josiah, king of Judah (Zephaniah 2:1).
He had a message that most end time Christians do not understand.
God inspired the Prophet Zephaniah to write the following:
1 Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, O undesirable nation, (Zephaniah 2:1)
Do you understand what is being taught?
Apparently not! So, this self-appointed false prophet is going to tell us!
This is a command for end of the age Christians!
Although it has certain misunderstandings, the Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown Commentary realized that the gathering together was intended for a religious group or assembly:
Zephaniah 2:1Gather yourselves together – to a religious assembly, to avert the judgment by prayers, (Joel 2:16, “Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders,” etc.) (from Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown Commentary, Electronic Database. Copyright © 1997, 2003, 2005, 2006 by Biblesoft, Inc. All rights reserved.)
Yes brethren you are COMMANDED to join the only true Church of God that is in existence today.
So who is it that this god of the false prophet wants to gather together at the end of the age?
Who does God want to gather together?
As stated before, the end of the age Christians. Notice what Jesus stated and something the Apostle Peter wrote:
19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. (John 15:19, NKJV)9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (1 Peter 2:9-10, KJV)
This is a peculiar people. These are people who the world does not desire. These are Philadelphian Christians.
So what are these "Philadelphian Christians like that the self-appointed prophet describes when he is talking about his group exclusively?
He expects us to believe that he and his followers are the meekest people on earth They are super humble and seek to do justice and above all, its leader is one of the highest recipients of integrity that can ever be bestowed upon a man. Never has the Church of God seen a more humble and meek man who is filled with so much integrity that even Jesus stands back in wonder and awe.
And it only gets worse...church members are to be so humble and meek that they will WILLINGLY accept the leadership of a certain low-level prophet to guide them since no apostle is presently leading the church! This also includes all who are in "independent" or non-aligned COG's or even those who stay home each week not associating with any physical group. You too MUST join the one and only true church and start tithing and attending its services.
See! I told you the craziness in splinterdom is off with a bang in the new year.
How do we know that Zephaniah 2:1-3 is related to Christians? Because the decree is for the end time and because of what else God inspired Zephaniah to write:
3 Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. (Zephaniah 2:3a)
The above is a reference to Christians as they are to be the “meek of the earth” (Matthew 5:5) and to Philadelphians who “have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility.” These are Philadelphian Christians who understand that church leaders need to have integrity and be willing to be humble enough to accept the authority of a church led by a low-level prophet in the absence of a clear apostle (cf. 1 Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:11-15). They are humble enough to not think that they should remain ‘independent,’ as many who once were part of the old Worldwide Church of God, during this Laodicean time, have done.
Do not allow yourself to accept the deception that you should be an independent Christian or one not truly truly part of the Philadelphian remnant.
Why have I written that Zephaniah 2:1-3 has to do with Philadelphian Christians?
Because they are the only ones who will actually ‘gather together’ as they should.
Why?
Because it is they who will lead the final phase of the work and it is only to the Philadelphians that Jesus promises to protect from the coming hour of trial, also referred to as the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord...
Only the true believers, those Philadelphians that so many think they are, will be protected in a place of safety. Never content to let their faith in Christ lead them through any perilous times, they need to constantly be looking towards a physical place as their destination, one that was the figment of the minds of Loma and Herbert Armstrong, Dean Blackwell, Herman Hoeh, John Rittenbaugh, and other agents of endtime fear-mongering that birthed the current crop of raving lunatics currently leading COG's.
Our raving fool also claims that anyone OUTSIDE his group is NOT Philadelphian and will NOT be protected. It always amazes me how impotent and weak the god of the COG is.
Notice that the Philadelphians are doing the work of God, have kept God’s word, have not denied Christ’s name/authority, and are persevering in the truth.
Yet, other churches around at the end, such as the remnants of Thyatira (Revelation 2:18-29) and Sardis (Revelation 3:1-6) are not promised that protection. Nor are the many Laodiceans(Revelation 3:14-22)–even if they are somehow gathered together–as they have gathered together in places that Jesus did not wish them to.
Are not all real Christians going to be protected?
No. The Book of Revelation is clear that after the Philadelphians are persecuted (cf. Daniel 7:25a; 11:29-36), they will flee to a place of protection, while the rest of the true Christians will not flee and then be subject to severe persecution...
Then, like clockwork, the self-appointed fool then says there will be scoffers ridiculing him and his little personality cult and will have absolutely NO IDEA when to flee to Petra:
If you are not with the group that is leading the final phase of the work will you really be able to flee if you wait until the last moment? While that may be remotely possible for some, remember that God inspired Zephaniah to admonish God’s people to ‘gather together…before the decree is issued.’
Most will discount this and many will scoff. Most COGs do not have any they consider to be a prophet, and those other than the CCOG who claim to, have prophets that have been proven to be false (e.g. PCG, CGPFKG, TPM).
Who in their right mind would want to spend 3 1/2 years in the desert with the almost arrested self-appointed false prophet!
Since no later than 2007 I have written that Zephaniah had to do with Philadelphians being ‘gathered together’ so that they would be protected from the coming trial that will hit the earth.
We in the Continuing Church of God “have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19, KJV).”
Should we not be “exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25)?
We in the Continuing Church of God boldly teach the need for Philadelphians to be ‘gathering together’ today. Will you heed God’s instructions as the Prophet Zephaniah was inspired to write? Would you possibly like to be protected? If so, will you ‘gather together’?
There you have it! Pack your bags boys and girls as you will now be following this man with unabandoned joy and enthusiasm….
I thought Packy was wacky, but Bobby is a booby too!

Bob, have you heard of the Gospel?
He's copying from the HWA playbook. Unless you're an attending member of Herbs cult, and putting up with all the abusive crap, you will not get THAT phone call telling you when to flee. It's plain extortion.

More appropriate name for Bobbylonia's Group...

Unless you're an attending member of Herbs cult, and putting up with all the abusive crap, you will not get THAT phone call telling you when to flee.
ReplyDeleteRemember that this is Bob we're talking about, the Petulant Prophet of Possiblys. If you ever "get THAT phone call" from Bob, expect it to sound something like this:
It seems likely that, if the words of Catholic bishop St. Sixtus are to be believed in light of Mayan prophecy, the time for God's people to flee to Petra, if indeed that's where we're supposed to flee to, will be sometime in the next couple of months once I figure out how to transport my developmentally disabled son and my unbalanced curtains. Until then, keep on buying my health supplements! And you definitely shouldn't flee when Dave or either of the Geralds tell you to flee. Wait for me.
I believe that by this point in time, Bob has regressed to the point of just trying to irritate us good folks here on Banned. This is an entirely different level of perverseness from that of your garden variety troll, but, like the trolls he is only capable of attracting negative attention. It's pure shock value. I've been exhorted to get off the cowardly, moderate, middle of the road fence, so this is me speaking out against evil!!!
ReplyDeleteGTA at least had some musical ability that could hold his people's interest.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Bob needs to move in that direction, as his prophetic schtick is far, far from golden. Maybe he could reinvent himself as "Lead Zephaniah" and entertain us with his new tune, "Stairway Not To Heaven."
CCOG: Continuing Cacophony Of Guilefulness.
ReplyDeleteWell, 4:31, Bob should be careful if he chooses that name. Descendents of Zephaniah might sue him! Frau Eva von Zeppelin threatened to sue our favorite band if they used her family name while performing in her home town of Copenhagen. Seems she was horrified and outraged at the burning Hindenberg pictured on their latest (at the time) album.
ReplyDeleteAnyone have the classic AC locker room video of GTA singing "Stairway to Heaven" as he partied with the basketball players?

DeleteRather than delve into Bob's tainted interpretive methodology, I'll just repeat the lyrics, So you claim this prophecy is about you, You're so vain...
ReplyDeleteApart from "turning the world upside down" (Acts 17:6) Bob's group is apparently to “turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers” (Malachi 4:6).
ReplyDeleteSee African Youth Camp report, second photo (until he fixes it) and ending line.
@ 8:52 AM, do you think Bob will delete this one detail that Evans Ochieng reported:
ReplyDeleteI touch a lot from the books of dating by Dr Bob.
...or, despite COVID and general Western ACOG disdain for petting before serious commitment, is this "touch a lot" teaching something new from the Bitter Bwana, an update on GTA's now-dated approach (but probably closer to what GTA actually practiced)?
Also, I wonder what "despite certain deaths" actually means? Were the African brethren not practicing good COVID safety and general hygiene? Or were the kids subjected to unusually vigorous physical activity that got out of hand?
Bob is such a fool in regards to his African followers. They are using him just like the other Sabbatarian groups they claim to be aligned with. I find it funny to read all of his boasting about his thousands of followers when most of them are aligned with other Sabbatarian groups including the SDA's.
ReplyDeleteThis preacher's exegesis of Zeph 2:1-3 seems to be rather an eisegesis of a particular idea he has. A reading of the passage and consulting the Jewish Study Bible points to the interpretation that this is a condemnation of the nations and a call to repenence. I am unpersuaded that this scope can be streteched to include the putative Philadelphians doing the end time work. Because it is the end times? Because they gather together as they should? These ideas briefly mentioned do not drive a strong exegesis in my view.
ReplyDeleteWhy do apocalyptic Millerites even believe we are in the end times? The Parousia could be centuries away. William Miller, et al, computed the time of the Parousia using interpretations of arcane OT prophecies. Later Millerites did the same thing. Davidian Victor Houteff for example. This, as you know, did not work.
I don't see how anybody could sit down with a big blue pencil and Big Chief tablet and work out some arithmetic about the Parousia. Because the Parousia is not fixed in time. In the OT we find that God can change his mind about prophetic events (Jer 18:5-10). In the NT we find that the timing of the Parousia may be conditioned by ecclessiastical events (2 Pet 3:9, 2 Pet 3:11-12, Acts 3:19-21). With these factors that can operate in an unforseeable fashion, the Parousia literally "does not compute."
The scripture that Armstrongist apocalyptic Millerites use to fasten the end times to the current period is Matt 24:22: "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." This pseudo-savvy idea is that the end times must happen in the epoch of nuclear weapons because never before could all of humanity be in jeopardy. But the nuclear epoch is a big epoch. How do proponents justify placing everything at the very beginning? Then there is the problem of this scripture describing something that is in the context of Jerusalem during the tribulation which we know happened in 70 AD. How does one take something that is localized and globalize it without some kind of exegetically based rationale? An if this prophecy anti-typically can be true now only because of nuclear weapons how could it be true typically back in 70 AD when there were no nuclear weapons?
Oh, well. Imagination knows no bounds.

All that's important to him is that he be a Big Man church leader and can tell daddy Rod Meredith one day that he made good, and got his own splinter church.
Part 1 - Neo writes:
ReplyDeletethe tribulation which we know happened in 70 AD. “we know,” is the “we,” Millar and NEO?
1Pe 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
(See Ezekiel 9 and Malachi 3 for the imagery behind these verses and context).
Three and a half years before Christ’s return Israel the Church and Israel the Kingdom are going to be refined in the Great Tribulation.
Seeing preterists won’t agree, here are just some points. Before starting it would be helpful to read Jeremiah 30:1-11 before some explanation of the purifying of the nation of Israel, before all the covenants are realized in their fulness:
Jer 30:3 For behold, days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will restore the fortunes of my people, Israel and Judah, says the LORD, and I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall take possession of it.
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
"Ultimately chapters 30-31 are eschatological in nature, depicting in the language and thought-forms of the day... The postexilic restoration was the firstfruits of the promises, the prelude to and a type of the greater restoration to come..." (J. Andrew Dearman, Jeremiah/Lamentations, NIVAC, pp.269-70).
(Jeremiah 33 has the promise of the restoration of the pillars of the Kingdom of God - Davidic kings and Levitical priests).
Jer 30:3 ... I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD:...
Jer 30:4 And these are the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.
"... we must not forget that this hope relates to Israel and Judah, not to one without the other (cf. 10)" (Charles L. Feinberg, Jeremiah, EBC, Vol.6, p.559).
Jer 30:5 For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.
Jer 30:6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?
Jer 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. [lit., “time trouble” [‘et sarah].
Da 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up [cp. Rev 12:7], the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble [‘et sarah], such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Mt 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
“ "That day" was not one immediately at hand. It is not the day of the destruction of Jerusalem but the day of God's comprehensive judgment. The present is not to be excluded, but it is swallowed up in the future. That day was to be marked by great calamities... v.7 speaks of Jacob's trouble. The prophetic Scriptures are replete with references to this unique time of Jacob's distress; e.g., "There is none like it" (cf. Matt 24:21 with the earlier prediction in Dan 12:1; cf. also 46:10; Isa 2:12-21; 13:6; 34:1-8; Eze 30:3; Joel 1:15; 2:1-2, 11; Amos 5:18-20; Mic 1:2-5; Zeph 1:2-3:8; Zech 14:1-8, 12-15 among others). Notice that the travail will issue in both physical and spiritual deliverance (cf. Zech 12:10-13:1) and that liberation will be such that never again will Israel be enslaved by any nation. This could never be said of any deliverance to this present hour; it must refer to eschatological times” (Charles L. Feinberg, Jeremiah, EBC, Vol.6, p.560).
Part 2
ReplyDelete“Jeremiah is stating that before the just-mentioned promise of restoration can be fulfilled, the nation must be severely disciplined, but not to the extent of final calamity” (Charles L. Feinberg, Jeremiah, EBC, Vol.6, p.559).
Jer 30:8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:
"Yokes and bonds will be removed from Jacob and the people will no longer be enslaved by foreigners" (J. Andrew Dearman, Jeremiah/Lamentations, NIVAC, p.274).
Jer 30:9 ... they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.
"Only in the most preliminary way may "the yoke" (v.8) refer to bondage to Nebuchadnezzar, what is meant is total liberation from all foreign oppressors. This can be effected only by the glorious intervention of Israel's messianic King (cf. Ezek 34:23; Hos 3:5). After the yoke of foreign rule has been broken, the benevolent yoke of their King will be gladly assumed by the godly in Israel and Judah (cf. Matt 11:28-30). It is significant that in prophetic Scriptures a resurrection of David himself is not predicted as antecedent to the rule of his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, on the Davidic throne. The person indicated here is the future ideal King, the so-called second David (cf. "last Adam" and "second man' (1 Cor 15:45-47). The messianic regent is a scion of the house of David (cf. Ezek 37:24-25)..." (Charles L. Feinberg, Jeremiah, EBC, Vol.6, p.561).
Mic 5:10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:
Mic 5:13 Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee..
Mic 5:14 ... so will I destroy thy cities.
Mic 5:15 And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.
Da 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
Da 7:25 and they ["the saints," i.e., Jacob] shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Da 7:26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
Da 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
"Israel herself will be purged of militarism and idolatry in the latter days... All of the prophets condemned trusting in horses and chariots for the security of the nation (Isa 2:7; 30:15-17; Hos 10:13; Ps 20:7)" (Ralph L. Smith, Micah-Malachi, WBC, p.48).
Mic 5:8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver [nsl].
"Military and religious objects of faith are to be struck from Israel's grasp. God's implied purpose is that the people should be brought to faith in him alone. Then, and then only, will they be given victory they crave, which they have sought by improper means" (Leslie C. Allen, The Books of Joel, Obadiah, Jonah, and Micah, NICOT, p.356).
