It has only been a few weeks, days, hours, minutes since we have mentioned our great and illustrious Bwana Bob Thiel here, the Saviour of Africa and 304 Caucasians, so here we are again. 😈
God's greatest gift to humanity since Moses and Herbert Armstrong is back AGAIN trying to prove to us that he is a true prophet of Gawd.
After several decades with the Worldwide Church of God, Global Church of God, and Living Church of God refusing to ordain him, our Great Bwana had to self-appoint himself up as the only true prophet on the earth today.
Bwana Bob is so desperate in his need for validity that he regularly has to publish articles quoting Norm Edwards and other Church of God heretics as his proof of legitimacy.
Former Global Church of God board member says PRIDE is the reason most in the COGs will not accept a true prophet
What really frosts Bwana Bob's homeopathic knickers is that the Church of God movement only looks at him with derision and apathy. Never has the Church of God had a more useless prophet in its midst than what it has today! It is all our fault and not his. He claims that anyone who rejects him is prideful. Yes, you heard that right, PRIDEFUL! Not only PRIDEFUL but LAODICEAN PRIDEFUL! Oh, Noes!!!!! A double whammy condemnation!
Mind you, this is coming from a man who constantly seeks to have his ego stroked and be admired by everyone in the church as a prophet and leader of the ONLY true church. His endless, "look at me" postings drive that point him at a shockingly frequent rate.
Norman Edwards was the editor for Shepherd’s Voice magazine. He is not part of the Continuing Church of God, where, I function as its human leader (and am an ordained prophet; the only known such ordained prophet in any legitimate Church of God group).
While Norman Edwards and I have long disagreed about aspects of church governance and various matters of doctrine, we both agree that many who are in or claim to be in the Church of God (COG) wrongly do not accept that God has any prophets today and that Laodicean pride gets in the way. We also agree that most have severe difficulty identifying one who really is a prophet because of various unscriptural biases and improper criteria that they have.
Because of false prophets in a couple of COG-related groups and a disbelief in prophets by most of the COG groups, the non-Philadelphian COGs have a lot of severe prophetic misunderstandings.
Yes, brethren, Bwana Bob says you are too STUPID to understand why he is a prophet.
Remember that the Bible teaches:
7 Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. ( Amos 3:7)
So in the last days, groups who do not believe there are prophets or those who listen to false prophets will not understand.
Norm Edwards has no more legitimacy as a spokesman for God than Bob Thiel does. While Edwards is certainly better at doing "good works" than Thiel is, it still doesn't mean he preaches truth.
Bwana Bob goes on to let his pride take over, again, when he whines about LCG and UCG ignoring him when he sought to "correct" them. because these leaders failed to acknowledge his magnificent words of instruction Bwana Bob's god is going to close their minds to be able to understand when it is time to flee to Petra or some other hell hole that Bwana Bob's god has set aside for them.
Some will come up with their preferred rationale as why not to agree with the position of the Continuing Church of God (CCOG) on these matters. Yet not only is CCOG’s position biblical, it should be noted that leaders in the Living Church of God and/or the United Church of God confirmed to me personally that I was biblically correct on nearly all of the above points, despite the fact that their respective churches hold to several of the errors pointed out above. Those who rely too much on a compromised ministry (Ezekiel 34:7-10) to teach them prophecy that is not truly in accordance with scripture need to realize that according to Jesus’ words in Revelation 2 & 3 and Luke 21, only relatively few Christians will be protected from the hour of trial that will come upon the whole world.
As Norman Edward’s article points out, it is scriptural to now have prophets according to the New Testament. But many who truly believe that they live by the word of God have discounted or overlooked what the Bible actually teaches and/or have been influenced by others who have done the same or worse. The COG has at least one demonstrably true prophet today, yet most in the greater COG world seem to be able to ignore the truth about that, like most ignored John the Baptist and others in their day.
Pride is a bigger problem for Christians than most realize.
More like money seeking profit!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a dollar for everytime some fruitcake claimed to be a "prophet" , I'd be a rich s.o.b.
ReplyDeleteBob has a habit of hearing what he wants to hear. It's anybody's guess what UCG and LCG leaders actually told him.
ReplyDeleteWhenever God wanted one of His prophets in the Old Testament to be recognized, he gave the prophet a prophecy or a miracle so powerful that it convinced the skeptics. True prophets understand themselves as vehicles of God's message, not their own, because of which they are not shy to say "Thus saith the Lord" when delivering God's prophecies. These prophets don't seek to be recognized as prophets, in fact they sometimes try to run away from the duty God wants them to perform. There is NO example in the Bible of a petulant prophet who whines at kings and leaders when they don't recognize him.
ReplyDeleteTo make matters worse, Bob's main prophecy is that he is a prophet. Other prophets just tell uncomfortable truths that come to pass. Bob is quick to stick a "possibly" or a "probably" in front of all his prophecies except for one: that HE is a prophet.
Lately, Bob has upped the ante. Unaware of Elijah's example, Bob now says he is the "only" end-time prophet currently at work. How can Bob be so sure that God hasn't set aside another 7,000 prophets who are quietly going about their business? It's pure vanity and psychological madness.
Bob will snap at some point. Fortunately, he's such an effeminate little manlet that he is unlikely to go out violently, hurting other people. For his family, however, his breakdown may be tragic.
The Mat 24:24 prophecy marches on!
ReplyDeleteI don't recall him proclaiming that Vladimir Putin would invade Ukraine, oh, about two or three months in advance. Or that there would be a baseball strike. Or a truck driver protest. Or that Lorena Bobbit (my pet name for the coo coo for Cocoa Puffs Senator) would heckle President Biden.
ReplyDeleteIf Bob started calling peoples' shots in advance, the planets would soon line up for him. Until he starts providing raw materials which are measurable, so that others could discern his status, then he's a zero. What would you call a self proclaimed painter who did not paint, but only evaluated and critiqued those who actually do paint?
Future scenario: A disheveled old man walks a lonely desert road. He is crying as he traipses along. An electric one ton truck truck pulls up beside him, and the driver, a workman, calls out, "Sir, could you use a lift into town." He is met with silence, but is relentless. "Come on, buddy, nothing can be that bad! Why are you crying? Get in the truck and we can talk about it!"
"You can't help! My whole life is just ruined!" says the man through his tears. "I was supposed to be a prophet, and nobody ever accepted me!"
"Well, what did you prophesy?"
"I never got a chance to prophesy because everyone needed to accept me as a prophet first!" replied the old man.
"Sir, I believe you did just prophesy!" replied the truck driver. "You said that I couldn't help you! Your prophecy came true! I can't help you!"
The truck silently drives off and disappears into the distance, leaving the old man to his self-imposed misery.
Im joining in too!
ReplyDeleteFrom now on , I MUST be refferred to as
PROPHET DR. TONTO!
everyone needed to accept me as a prophet first
ReplyDeleteI think this poster has hit on something important. Bob is seeking acceptance, not seeking to proclaim powerful messages that change lives. The OT gives us several examples of prophets who weren't shy about proclaiming God's message with boldness (not Mayans' or Catholics' messages, by the way), and who trusted that God would smite their enemies whenever necessary.
The sooner Bob learns that loud whining is not the same as boldness, his prophetic mission should improve significantly.
Isaiah prophesied Cyrus' rule even before Cyrus was born. As a prophet, Bob should be able to tell us, in March 2022, who will be the leaders in charge of Russia, Ukraine, Germany, and the United States in March 2025, just three years in advance. But we all know he won't do that. Bob doesn't know, and God isn't telling Bob. Some prophet!
ReplyDeleteFor entertainment value alone Bob Thiel is there among the top trier of individuals who believe the ‘mantle’ of ‘prophet’ was passed to them and them only.
Unfortunately for Bob many us poor mere mortals have taken the ‘red pill’ or should it have being the ‘blue pill’ lol, and have had our eyes opened to discern reality from the rarified world that those claimants dwell in.
And we are much better for it.
Not sure what ‘pill’ Bob is on but I suspect it is making him ill.
Bob needs a good lie-down on Ziggy Freud's couch.
ReplyDeleteHe's making an ass of himself by insisting that ACOGs members acknowledge him as a prophet.
In Norman Edwards' article, there is the example of the prophet Agabus, who foretold a famine. Acting on this warning, relief was sent to the congregation in Judea. Timely prophecy, action taken, favorable outcome.
ReplyDeleteA genuine question to anyone, including Bob:
Has anyone ever benefited from any prophetic statement (dream, re-diction, alignment, speculation, ...) that Bob has given? Has anyone acted on any prophetic warning Bob made and achieved a positive outcome?
Anyone??
" I function as its human leader (and am an ordained prophet; the only known such ordained prophet in any legitimate Church of God group). "
ReplyDeleteLegitimate Church of God group?
Now that's hilarious... Get some help, Bob!
Dt 18:15 The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him.
ReplyDeleteDt 18:17 The LORD said to me: “What they say is good.
Dt 18:18a I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers;
Of note from above: “from among your own brothers” (v.15); and “from among their brothers” (v.18a).
“The words, “out of the midst of thee, of thy brethren,” imply that there would be no necessity for Israel to turn to heathen soothsayers or prophets, but that it would find the men within itself who would make known the word of the Lord” (KD).
"Like the king (Deu 17:15) he must be an Israelite...; diviners and necromancers were foreign (Isa 2:6, Nah 3:4, Isa 47:9; Isa 47:12)" (Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges).
Bob has admitted he is a gentile, hence, according to Deuteronomy, he is disqualified to be a prophet of God.
Bob's got about as much chance of succeeding as a prophet as he would have as a radio personality on a rhythm and blues satellite station.
ReplyDeleteAgent Double-0 Soul, Baby, simply Double-0 Soul!
Anon 947 wrote Bob has admitted he is a gentile...
ReplyDeleteIn Bob's defense, that doesn't matter, although literalists may disagree.
Through the work of Jesus, Gentiles are "grafted in" to Israel, otherwise they could not be part of the Covenant. Paul goes over this to assure his Gentile followers that they are part of Israel and don't require "ritual conversion".
For example, Caleb, who represented Judah as one of the 12 spies, was of Gentile descent, and was "grafted in" to be part of Israel.
Part 1
ReplyDeleteGood one Hoss. When I posted I knew that this was perhaps a weakness in the argument, but I sent it anyway. In regard to Caleb:
Nu 32:12a Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite
Ge 15:19 The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites
“Caleb is called a Kenizzite (Num 32:12) though it is not certain that he belonged to the same group as that mentioned here” (Gordon J. Wenham, Genesis 1-15, WBC, p.334).
Ge 36:11 And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
“Kenaz, the fifth son of Eliphaz, was the name of a people (Kenizzites) whose land would be taken away and given to Abraham (Gen 15:19), but elsewhere the Judahite Caleb is called a Kenizzite (Num 32:12; Josh 14:6, 14). The Kenizzites were apparently originally an Edomite clan that later affiliated itself with the tribe of Judah” (Victor P. Hanilton, The Book of Genesis Chapters 18-50, NICOT, p.394).
“ “Kenaz”: whether this group is related to the Kenizzites mentioned in 15:19 or the Judean clan of Num 32:13 is uncertain” (Gordon J. Wenham, Genesis 16-50, WBC, p.338).
Jdg 1:13a And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother
“Othniel ... is further designated as “Caleb’s [younger] brother [’ab]” (e.g., Judg 1:13), which probably means that Othniel was a younger relative or kinsman of Caleb (the Heb. word ’ab has this range of meanings;... This explains why Caleb is called the son of Jephunneh and Othniel is called the son of Kenaz, and yet Othniel is called Caleb’s brother, and Caleb is called “the Kenizzite”... as pointed out in the introduction, the tribe (sebet) can be bound together by any one of the following: descent, residence, dialect, or religion. While some scholars disagree, the best way of understanding these designation in association with the statements that connect Caleb and Othniel with the tribe of Judah is to see them as proselytes from a different ethnic group who count in the tribe of Judah (i.e., through at least residence and religion, though not descent). For an analogy one can compare the case of Rahab, who is not a Judahite by descent but nonetheless counted as a Judahite after her proselyting to the faith of Israel” (K. Lawson Younger Jr., Joshua/Ruth, NIVAC, pp.66-67).
1Ch 4:13 And the sons of Kenaz; Othniel, and Seraiah:
“It may be that this name here simply stands for a descendant of Kenaz, which name occurs among Caleb’s descendants (1Ch 4:13, 15)... Other solutions have included the following: (a)The Kenizzites were an ethnic group first incorporated into Edom and subsequently into Judah. This may have taken place early, for Caleb was born in Egypt. (b) Jephunneh, Caleb’s father, was a Kenizitte, but married a woman from the house of Caleb whose name occurs in 1 Chr 2:18-20. A son of that marriage would be the Caleb of Joshua 14. Jephunneh had two more sons by a second wife, Othniel and Seraiah, called sons of Kenaz, or Kenizzites (cf. 1 Ch 4:12)...” (Martem H. Woudstra, The Book of Joshua, NICOT, p.227).
If Caleb’s father was of Cannanite descent, perhaps J1, J2 and E1b1b among the Jews today are the result of paternal Canaanites and foreigners incorporated into Judah?
Part 2
ReplyDeleteFrom at least the time of Abraham, Gentiles were to be grafted into the people of God.
Ge 17:11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.
Ge 17:12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger [nekar], which is not of thy seed.
Ex 12:49 One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger [ger] that sojourneth among you.
"Just as infants and children were included within the covenant sign, so were people of other races and social classes. Any who were associated with Abram as members of his household, whether born in his house or bought with money, were to be circumcised. In this way foreigners who were not born of Abraham were from the start grafted into the people of God, in keeping with the Lord's declared intention of blessing all the families of the earth..." (Joyce G. Baldwin, The Message of Genesis 12-50, BST, p.67).
Eze 44:9 Thus saith the Lord GOD; No stranger [neker], uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger [nekar] that is among the children of Israel.
Eze 47:21 So shall ye divide this land unto you according to the tribes of Israel.
Eze 47:22 And it shall come to pass, that ye shall divide it by lot for an inheritance unto you, and to the strangers [gerim] that sojourn among you, which shall beget children among you: and they shall be unto you as born in the country among the children of Israel; they shall have inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.
Eze 47:23 And it shall come to pass, that in what tribe the stranger [ger] sojourneth, there shall ye give him his inheritance, saith the Lord GOD.
“However free they might have been to join the community of faith through the rite of circumcision (Exod 12:43-48), the apparent prohibition of land ownership prevented full integration into the community and kept them in perpetual state of dependence. Recognizing the theological significance of landholding in Israel, Ezekiel insists that in the new order the distinction between gerim and ethnic Israelites ('ezrah) will be eliminated...
“Ezekiel does not promise landholding rights to all foreigners. The ger’s identification with Israel must be demonstrated by residing, and fathering children while residing among the Israelites. These qualifications are intended to distinguish between other foreigners residing temporarily in Israel and proselytes, and to guard the sanctity of the holy community now resident in the holy land” (Daniel I. Block, The Book of Ezekiel Chapters 25-48, NICOT, p.718).
The more I read about Theil here the more he reminds me of another prophet….Marshall Applewhite.
ReplyDeleteThe more I read about Theil here the more he reminds me of another prophet….Marshall Applewhite.
ReplyDeleteNo. Applewhite was originally the #2 leader of his cult, subordinate to a woman, Bonnie Nettles. Though he is very effeminate, there's no way Bob Thiel would ever let himself be subordinate to a woman. There's not even room in Bob's Thielology for a "silent witness" like Ron Weinland has made his wife. Mrs. Thiel has to stay in the background doing most of the administrative work for Bob's naturopathy business while Bob runs around begging and whining for people to acknowledge his prophethood.
"Thielology". Has a nice ring to it, kind of putting it into proper perspective, like Armstrongism. Howsomever, Aleister Crowley called his own own occult social/spiritual philosophy "Thelema". When bloggers began to take Bob Thiel to task for introducing Mayan and Catholic aspects into his teachings, I coined the expression "Thielema" to account for these influences.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Thiel has to stay in the background doing most of the administrative work for Bob's naturopathy business while Bob runs around begging and whining for people to acknowledge his prophethood.
ReplyDeleteOne of Bob Thief's income sources comes from cheating his customers. He sells nutritional supplements, but they aren't his own. He buys them from a wholesaler who puts Bob's company's name on the bottles. Bob charges a markup, and then re-sells to his customers.
If Bob genuinely sought the best for his customers, he would eliminate the middle-man and direct his customers to the cheapest source of the supplements he recommends. How can he reconcile his role as a spiritual Overseer with his role as a huckster making people overpay for nutrition?
. When bloggers began to take Bob Thiel to task for introducing Mayan and Catholic aspects into his teachings, I coined the expression "Thielema" to account for these influences.
ReplyDeleteThielema? Is that: "Whine what I wilt shall be the whole of the Law!"? Or is it: "Do what I dream shall be the whole of the Law!"?
