Like any good COG prophet, our Great Bwana to Africa and 304 Caucasians has to stick his nose into the upcoming time change, because after all, his so-called sabbath will start an hour later this next Friday and if you don't adjust your clocks you will be an hour late in listening to his mind-boggling sermon on 57 different subjects.
Apparently, COG members are too stupid to know this while his African followers don't really care.
At 2 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, March 13, those in the USA and many other nations will need to spring our clocks forward – and losing an hour of the day – for Daylight Saving Time. Sunset will be an hour later.
Because of that, sunset will be over an hour later next Friday.
Those of us who observe the weekly Sabbath from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday may wish to remember that.
Then right on cue, he has to find something wrong with it. He had to go back to a 2016 article on CNN about how people can have issues with losing sleep. I am surprised he did not claim this is a satanic conspiracy tocasue people to miss his sermons.
Irrespective of any possible health risks, the changing of the clocks, etc. can be annoying and affect sleep cycles. Either way, in the USA the clocks change at 2:00 a.m.
Where I live we don't participate in the "time change". 🖕
ReplyDeleteBob has a ThD, a PhD, an MS, a long-established practice as a naturopath, and a double-portion anointing as God's only end-time Prophet and Overseer... and he still can't figure out how to get as much sleep tonight as he got last night?
ReplyDeleteBob, your prophecy is WEAK!
We don't even have daylight savings time in my state.
ReplyDeleteBack when I followed Herbert W. Armstrong's instructions for keeping the sabbath, I always enjoyed the winter months, because you had all of Saturday night to enjoy.
Well, I am one of those that don't follow most of the so-called news today. Just looked at my computer time and yes the time is one hour ahead. I wish that all governments will get rid of this system for it does play havoc with sleep, meal time, etc.
ReplyDeleteThis is another example of ACOG ministers micro managing their members lives. Meanwhile, spiritual meat is shunned. So much so, that many members aren't even aware of its existence.
ReplyDeleteEh, the time on the clock is irrelevant considering the day goes from sunset to sunset. I haven't worn a watch since I retired.
ReplyDeleteDaylight Time also happens in Europe, Australia and other places.
ReplyDeleteWhat Dr. Thiel could recommend is that people get extra rest on the Sabbath heading into Daylight Time - using the Sabbath as a "friend" to make the adjustment.
Hawaii, most of Arizona, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and American Samoa do not do Daylight Savings time.
ReplyDeleteThus , if they follow Bob's directive, they will not have the right time to tune into his dribble!
No country in Africa uses Daylight Savings Time. It is only used by three small Spanish-protectorate areas on the continent.
ReplyDeleteSince 99% of Bob's following is in Africa, this must be a very confusing instruction he has given to them.
Didn't HWA and his adherents always advocate rooting out and repudiating all of "man's perversions" of the laws of God in the Torah?
ReplyDeleteI'm shocked that some Armstrongites somewhere don't reject and refuse to observe Daylight Savings Time, if for no other reason than the fact that there is no reference to it in scripture. Also, time zones are a later function of improved science and are not mentioned anywhere in the Bible, so shouldn't all Armstrongites live by Jerusalem Standard Time, holy time in God's own time zone? That would surely make it easier on Armstrongite Lapps and Innuits. Armstrongites have a precedent in this as they require members in the Southern Hemisphere to keep the Holy Days by Jerusalem standards, upside-down from the seasons which they symbolically portray.
Anon 2:03 PM, don't you realize that Armstrongists DO NOT use "time zones"?
ReplyDeleteEach congregation sets its time not by time zone, but by local sunset. Passover isn't set to be held for the entire time zone at the same time; it varies across the zone on the basis of local sunset time. Same for the weekly and other Sabbath observances.
Bob said:- “Irrespective of any possible health risks, the changing of the clocks, etc. can be annoying and affect sleep cycles. Either way, in the USA the clocks change at 2:00 a.m.”
ReplyDeleteIs it affecting Bob’s sleep cycles because he has to stay up to 2.00 a.m. on that night to adjust his clocks?
"He had to go back to a 2016 article on CNN ...."
ReplyDeleteSo, the fact that the news article is from all the way that far back in the dim, forgotten recesses of history makes it... not worth anything? Sure sounds like it, from that wording.
