Gerald Flurry Declares Fast For July 3 To Try And Influence His "god" To Heal Lil'Stevie And Other Sick Members

Things are not looking too good on the Philadelphia Church of God cult compound in Edmond Oklahoma. Satan is apparently wreaking havoc with the health of the gods and goddesses who are soon to be ruling neighboring planets. Even the son of King Flurry has major health problems.

Lil'Stevie has major problems with his hip, joints, and leg. We can almost guarantee that he will have surgery for this, even while King Daddy tells regular members to put their entire faith in his god and stay away from Satan's doctors. What's supposedly good for the sheeple is never good for the royalty.

GF has declared a church-wide fast for July 3. He said they “have had some real sickness problems in the church and we need to beseech God for stronger faith and more healing.” He said an x-ray examination in March of his son (Stephen) “revealed severe damage in his right hip, joint, and also a significant degree of degeneration in his leg bone and he needs to be healed.” He also said that “Andrew Locher has type 2 diabetes with nephropathy which affects his feet and hands with numbness.” Then he mentioned a few other members with severe physical problems. Some of the AC students have had health problems also. Exit and Support Network

  1. Contorting to Flurry's edicts and insanity will lead to major problems with hips, joints, and legs!

  2. Maybe our little heir apparent and Burger King, Jr. had a bewitching smartphone in his hip pocket that is the cause of his trouble.

Can't think of a more deserving heretic than junior (except for senior).

  3. GF: the true God can heal but Herb's god cannot. To help you discern between the true God and Herb's god ask yourself two questions (which at first glance may look like I'm delirious):
    1) Where can I read the law that commanded tithing before Moses? 2) In Ex 12, on what numbered calendar day did Israel not work except for eating and have a "holy convocation"?

  4. I would like to draw attention to the fact that they only mentioned the other people like Brent Nagtegaals wife (she’s 29 and has 3 little kids) who had a stoke and has blood clot in her brain, and is pretty much blind. This happened about a year and a half ago and another lady who can’t leave her home due to severe back pain…. They Never told us about them. They only reason they mentioned them this time because they felt obligated to do so since he was asking for prayers for his son. I’m becoming pretty disillusioned with pcg. And why is the ministers and their wives and children sick and dying. Why wouldn’t God use these high profile people to show his healing and his backing of the church? Why did Eric Burns daughter have to die a horrible death at such a young age? Mr. Lunas daughter dead from cancer. Mrs. Dattalo dead from cancer. Mr. Lochers daughter had all kinds of health problems. Mr. MacDonald, two sons dead at such a young age. Mr. Davis’ two wives, dead, young. Mr. Lochers neuropathy and diabetes. There are more! And I can think of not one legitimate healing…. Not one.
Something is wrong. I’m just not seeing God behind them.

  5. While we are asking questions about PCG member deaths and lack of divine healing, perhaps someone can explain God’s purpose for not providing Richard Armstrong with divine protection on that day in the late 1950s when he succumbed to injuries from a violent automobile accident. His death changed the course of history for the Radio/Worldwide Church of God. Richard

    1. No it didn’t. His son died, the scam went on.

  6. Yeah, whatever happened to the fervent, effectual prayers of the righteous, which they use to guilt-trip members whenever members ask for prayers? No righteous ministers or even pastor then? God is not listening to one? Goes to show you what PCG really is.

But members will still blindly give their money to this cult-church of Gerry. It's getting too late in the game. Better tell your member friends they have little time and to decide now before it all goes south for them and their families.

    Wake-up call time!

  7. Well, that's because Porky Stevie and Porky Andy are fat, overfed with tithes from blind members.

  8. At least the fast date is on Sunday. HWA and some splinters usually called for Sabbath fasts - little knowing that they were following an early practice of the Catholic Church. The Catholic fasts were on Saturday to mock those who still refused to accept Sunday as the day of worship.

  9. Results: People who fast will become hungry and thirsty. They will feel Philadelphian and self-righteous. Some old lady will be "healed" of a cold, and the fast will be touted as a great success. Kind of like all the other church-wide fasts. This would be a crude method of team-building if the practice had not already been overused and had it not already become meaningless. Whenever a sense of powerlessness sinks in, fasting probably still makes some feel that at least they are doing something.

  10. At least the fast is on Sunday. The bible instructs that the Sabbath is a day of rest. How can one be resting if one is fasting? It is after all, a distressful experience.
The only reason Rod Meredith and others demanded that their group fast on the Sabbath is to insure compliance. They don't give a hoot about the spirit of the Sabbath.

  11. Healing From The PCG Cult Cancer

Gerald Flurry's PCG cult is a CANCER on the so-called Church of God scene. Fortunately, the good news is that the SPIRITUAL CANCER known as the PCG cult is in remission. The PCG cult CANCER is continually shrinking.

  12. I'm surprised that GRF is calling for a fast on July 3, which is still more than a month from now. If it's sickness he wants to address, wouldn't he want it sooner? Could the letter-sender may have meant June 3, Friday, about three days from now?

If he really means July 3, he probably doesn't want those sick to recover at all. It could too late for some. Or, does his god take that much time to be able to hear? I'm sure there's money involved here somehow and we're just missing it.

  13. It is a great mistake to believe that healings are an indication of righteousness or endorsement from God. People may be afflicted or healed for many reasons. The purposes are a determination made by God. We are not privy to why these determinations were made and we are not judges of the health of others.

HWA originated the fiction of "physical sin." This concept essentially removes God from the picture. In HWA's theory, disease is something that a person brings upon themselves by neglecting physical measures of health, like exercise or eating the wrong diet. And fixing health is also the responsibility of the individual. The ill person must repent by following physical measures of health. HWA took a commonsense notion that works within narrow boundaries and elevated it to an all-encompassing theology of sin.

And it leads to absurdity. Scientists now know that heating carbohydrates, such as wheat and potatoes, to high temperatures causes the formation of acrylamides. And acrylamides are carcinogenic. In HWA's view, ingesting such acrylamides would be a physical sin. This means that Jesus ate acrylamides all of his life right down to the unleavened bread he ate at the Lord's Supper. HWA's theory of physical sin then cancels the status of Jesus as the perfect sacrifice for our sins.

Illness is a part of the present evil world and healing is a matter of God's grace and the bogus doctrine of "physical sin," while it forms a simplistic basis for judging others regarding health, just obscures this.

  14. I'm a former PCG member. I knew Stephen, Andy and many of the others mentioned in the article and comments. I wouldn't wish bad health or a debilitating condition on anyone... but I do condemn the hypocrisy that the PCG and WCG leadership exhibited when it comes to the healing doctrine, back to HWA keeping a private nurse on staff. I also saw people deal with health conditions that could easily have been treated to prolong life or enhance quality of life when I was a member.

Also, when I was a member I noticed that many of the brethren were generally in poor health. Lots of fads swept through the church. A very memorable one was the 'alkaline' fad where people were using lemon juice as a cure all. Folks were quick to jump on these sometimes-unscientific bandwagons but loathe to engage in things that are well-known practices to enhance and maintain health such as moderating their diet and exercising.

In fact, outside of the youth and the activity encouraged at the PYC summer camps, bad health tended to be very common. In all my years as a youth in the WCG and a member in the PCG I cannot remember a single instance of healing. Not one. In fact, bad health was a topic used to berate members and beat them over the head about some kind of sin they had in their lives. And maybe it simply got down to a bunch of depressed people who didn't bother to maintain good diets and exercise.

I have a personal family account of ministers berating one of my parents over a disease that they had no control of and claiming they lacked faith.

If the PCG starts to allow medical intervention for some of its leading members while telling the lay people to avoid it, that will simply be one further straw on the back of the stumbling camel in completely voiding their credibility.

  15. ANYONE who has these dire health problems has my sympathy. I strongly believe in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.... but that said, anythings that I have witnessed as a healing are extremely rare.

  16. The only reason Rod Meredith and others demanded that their group fast on the Sabbath is to insure compliance. They don't give a hoot about the spirit of the Sabbath.

A Sabbath fast day did not insure compliance. All it did was insure that brethren ate privately at home instead of going out together to eat after services.

  17. Anon 3:39 I appreciate your agreement that the Sabbath is not a fast day (although even Orthodox Jews accept that Yom Kippur is an exception). An old WCG booklet even said the Sabbath was a Feast Day.
Yes, calling for a Sabbath fast was likely for compliance, as any other day may not go well. And I recall a booklet that said not working on Sunday was wrong - and that did draw disagreement.

  18. I believe anyone following Amy Flurry's dietary laws as taught at their not so Imperic College is in danger of putting their health in peril. These people follow all kinds of dangerous diets and deserve to die as they all do far too early fir some reason of tgeir own choices. I grieve for the innocents as I do for the Egyptian first borns.. struck for the sins of their (spiritual) fathers.

  23. Speaking of Fasting, did not Robinson write in"Tangled Web" that he awoke early on the Day of Atonement to find HWA up drinking coffee?

  24. We have been out of the PCG for over 20 years. It was very rare that anyone ever experienced any type of healing. On the contrary, we saw many young people die premature deaths. Obviously, it hasn't gotten any better within that organization. Now, even some of the PCG HQ hierarchy are suffering health problems. And GRF is even letting the word out...

Most of the time sickness and disease is covered up and there are no prayer requests. When we did get a prayer request, we didn't have any updates till the person died. In the meantime, you might be praying for someone who has been dead for 6 months.

  25. WHERE IS A CHURCH WIDE FAST CALLED FOR IN THE BIBLE?????

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's sad to see so many people suffering from health problems, but hopefully it plays a part in waking some of the members up to see that God is not healing or working with them. It's easy to forget that the people in these groups are victims of mind control, not really in control of how they act. My whole family is in the group and it's clear that they are victims, even Flurry is a victim of Armstrong's influence to a certain degree.

Hopefully the church will dismantle after the death of Flurry, who is now 87 and suffered a minor stroke in March. Time is running out, and hopefully these people will be able to see the light.

Regarding the stroke, do you have evidence of this?
