With all the new crazy self-appointed Chief Overseers, Apostles, Prophets, Pharisees, legalists, and outright liars leading various Churches of God today, it is important to hold these agents of deception accountable.

COG Groups To Add New Hymn to Their Hymn Books For The End Times
This new COG hymn is sure to send Bob Thiel, Gerald Flurry and Dave Pack into Endtime orgasmic fits. What a perfect scenario!
I can just hear the comments from the COGlodytes in advance! "The organ is Satan's instrument, not God's!" "Typical! This is exactly the type of hymn you'd expect from the Gentiles!" "How worldly! He shaves his head!"
Actually, I prefer a good backbeat to my music. You can't really dance to this tune, although it does have imaginative lyrics. It is miles better than "Praise Ye the Lordo".
There are a few non-HWA hymns that are okay but you should mostly stick to what our apostle the great Mr. Armstrong taught. For the most part, to stay in the spirit of Philadelphia, we must stick to the original hymns of Mr. Armstrong did.
Really? Are you hearing yourself? Can I sing my own praises to God when I'm by myself? Or should I pull out the pre-approved HWA pocket guide to godly hymns? I really really wished some of you men worshippers could hear some of the things you say.
The blue hymnal was OK; the older purple hymnal was best. But certainly no splinter today has the authority to take away what Mr. Armstrong gave us in his God-inspired hymnals. God inspired Mr. Armstrong it's not his words but God's words and any hymnal that contradicts God and Christ is anti-Christ.

If you're not careful, "to the tomb alive you shall go down". Always loved the positive Gospel tone of WCG hymns. Just kidding... There were no Gospel hymns in WCG or now in RCG. One would have to understand the concept of the NT.
Reading COGlodytes' idiotic recitations of slogans is enough to make me glad I don't, even if I didn't have other reasons. But I don't know why you think Jutsum's attempts at songwriting have anything to do with "the stuff Mr. Armstrong taught".
Before I left RCG in 2020 (after 11 years), Pack had forbidden 6 hymns to be sung in services. Apparently, they no longer fit the "new understanding".

Like a pelican alone?
Delete@DennisCDiehl it won't be long is a good hymn and it shows the paradise to come which is what the gospel is all about.
ReplyDeleteDid someone add that to a later hymnal? Not in the Armstrong era anyway.
DeleteIt's in the United church of God (UCG) one.
DeleteReally? Seems like too many vocal leaps in that one for a congregation to sing. Maybe it works though.
Delete3:34> Raca! Thou fool!
ReplyDeleteOt's the perfect hymn for a end of the world doomsday cult!
ReplyDeleteIn clunky Jutsum style, yes.
